Actress and producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas has already had an inimitable worldwide career, so it makes sense that she's being honored for her artistic contributions.

Chopra Jonas—who is styled by Ami Patel—was awarded the inaugural Global Vanguard Honor at Gold House's fifth annual Gold Gala on Saturday, May 8. For the occasion, the movie star wore a very special gown, created specifically for the event and featuring an incomparable backstory.

Discussing Chopra Jonas's jaw-dropping outfit on Instagram, acclaimed fashion journalist and editor Sujata Assomull shared, "This look is very much a collaboration between Priyanka's trusted stylist of many years, @stylebyami and designer [Amit Aggarwal] and it shows."

Assomull continued, "This silhouette is reportedly reimagined from a 20-year-old Chikankari sari. Ancient Craft, Old Sari, New Context." As for why the design feels so fitting for this particular event, the editor explained, "And as @priyankachopra celebrates 25 years on the global stage: this silhouette, this story, and this team feels exactly right."

With an asymmetrical neckline, a long, delicate train, and intricate glass bead embellishments, Chopra Jonas's Amit Aggarwal gown is truly one of a kind.

The designer shared a tribute to the Heads of State actress on Instagram, writing, "My mother has adored @priyankachopra beyond measure for years. She is also the first person to comment on almost every post we have ever done, and the woman who believed in me long before the world did." Aggarwal continued, "This moment is my small gift to her. And to mothers everywhere, thank you for giving your children not just life, but the courage to pursue the dreams they quietly carry within them."

The designer signed off his post by paying tribute to Chopra Jonas's stylist, writing, "Thank you Ami @stylebyami. What we create together transcends time!"

You've got to respect Priyanka Chopra-Jonas's dedication. No matter the year, the weather, or her date—if the actor is attending the Academy Awards, she's going to wear an all-white dress, come hell or high water. Like clockwork, the presenter arrived dressed all in white. Though she's worn naked dresses and embellished styled in previous years (more on that, ahead), today's Dior gown featured a structured bodice, with elegant draping and a dramatic slit on the skirt. Though she skipped out on any sequins or beads, Chopra-Jonas made an impact with a feather-like fringe trim, which gave her look a distinct Old Hollywood feel.

Diamonds and sapphires on her ornate Bulgari High Jewelry necklace, were the actor's only source of sparkle—and sparkle they did. She completed the look with black pointed-toe heels, matching the flecks in her skirt's feathers.

Tonight marks Chopra-Jonas's third time at the annual Academy Awards. She walked the red carpet for the first time back in 2016, when she wore a mesh naked dress from Zuhair Murad. The naked number was was embellished with ivory blooms and had a metallic belt detail.

The following year, she RSVPed "yes" for the second time, arriving in yet another all-white outfit. This time, she chose a strapless Ralph & Russo gown with a geometric print made of silver and white triangles.

"As a parent, you dread as time passes because it means having tougher conversations [with your kids], which means having tougher conversations with yourself as well," the actress says about helping Malti Marie with her self-esteem.

"Even I’m grappling with where the world is right now and my emotions around how scary it is to be the parent of a young child at a time where the safety of children is so fragile," she adds.

That said, Chopra Jonas incredibly proud that her daughter was born out of "the incredible coming together of two cultures"—i.e. her marriage to Nick Jonas. "She is the epitome of how incredible diversity actually is," the mom says of her little girl.

Of course, motherhood brings gifts along with the fears—one of which being Chopra Jonas' newfound ability to be kind to herself where she might not have been in the past.

"I’m not as mean to myself. I used to berate myself when I failed at something, or didn’t achieve the level of excellence that I wanted," she says. "I’ve taken the pressure off. As women, when we are in ambitious jobs or jobs that require constant movement, we can be really mean to ourselves. To push yourself to be able to work that much harder."

"She’s in the middle of a room just telling her jokes and singing at the top of her voice," Chopra Jonas tells Lola Ogunnaike. "It’s such a wonder to me that she’s this human being who has so much of me, my husband, her grandparents, her ascendants, and every day she’s a surprise. She’s the greatest gift of my life. All my priorities have changed. Everything starts and ends with her."

Malti had a difficult start to life, spending 110 days in the NICU.

"Our daughter was very coveted and very desired because I had a really tough time with pregnancies," Chopra Jonas tells Marie Claire. "She’s my miracle baby, so everything just stopped when she was born. I think it’s a preemie mom or a NICU mom thing, but I’m still in constant fear. When she’s not right by my side or she’s at school or when I’m in a different country, it’s this feeling that your heart is running outside of your body."

By its nature, Chopra Jonas' work takes her out of the country on a regular basis, but parenthood has taught the celeb to be more discerning with the jobs she chooses to take on. She won't be pulled away from her husband and daughter if the project isn't worth it.

"I used to want to juggle all the balls and do all the things, but now I listen to my gut a lot more," she explains. "I’m more instinctive, and I’ve found power in being able to say 'no,' which used to be hard for me."

"There was something really freeing, bold, and honest about it," Chopra Jonas tells Lola Ogunnaike about portraying Ercell "Bloody Mary" Bodden. "I would go to the ends of hell to protect my family, and we don’t get to see that with women characters very much."

Speaking with Ogunnaike, the Quantico star elaborates about her "tight circle" of family and friends. "I like to keep a tight circle of people that I trust, because I give completely and wholeheartedly," she says. "The only way I know how to love is 100 percent. So either I’m all in or I have a wall. I don’t know how to do the in between."

Family-wise, she had a very special relationship with her late father. "I was very close to him," she says. "We had this amazing bond, which was unsaid. It didn’t need a lot of words. His loss was tough on me. He was just 63—so young."

Her mom walked her down the aisle when the actress married husband Nick Jonas, with whom she's formed her new little family and welcomed daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, now 4.

"It feels like I don’t remember life before my husband, and it feels like he’s been in my life forever. It’s great. I’m lucky—really lucky," she says. "We love our little life and our little family and wherever we go, we fly home immediately. I’m on my way to the airport literally taking off my wig, my makeup, changing in the car, just because I want to run back home."

And their daughter? "She’s the greatest gift of my life," Chopra Jonas says. "All my priorities have changed. Everything starts and ends with her."

If you ever find yourself being ushered into a well-appointed private lounge, in an opulent high-rise in midtown Manhattan, to meet with Priyanka Chopra Jonas, perhaps the first thing you will notice about her is her voice. It’s soothing and cashmere soft. "My husband calls it the 'ASMR voice,'" she laughs. (Her husband, of course, is singer Nick Jonas, who also happens to have his own set of noteworthy pipes.) When I joke with Chopra Jonas that she must record a message for me to wind down to in the evenings, without missing a beat, she purrs, "Good night, Lola. Stop scrolling. It’s time to go to bed."

It’s unclear to me if sleep is something Chopra Jonas, 43, gets a lot of herself. Over the course of her career, she’s been a pageant queen, a Hindi film icon, a fledgling pop singer, a UNICEF goodwill ambassador, the global face of legacy brands like Bvlgari, Johnnie Walker, and Max Factor, and yes, she’s even narrated bedtime stories for the Calm app. In 2016, Time magazine named her as one of "The 100 Most Influential People" in the world. Five years later, her memoir, Unfinished, was a New York Times bestseller.

In recent years, Chopra Jonas has focused on her production company, Purple Pebble Pictures. Among its slate of projects: Anuja, a 22-minute Hindi film that Chopra Jonas executive produced, which earned an Oscar nomination for best Live Action Short Film in 2025; and To Kill A Tiger, which also got an Oscar nod for best Documentary Feature Film.

"Making movies is not easy, getting them sold and getting eyeballs on them is even harder," Chopra Jonas says. Doing it without the benefit of celebrity parentage or connections (which Chopra Jonas did not have) renders it even more difficult. Which is why she created her company, in part, to help provide an "in" for non-nepo babies with fresh perspectives and to be the "shoulders for new filmmakers to stand on to be able to showcase their talent and their work," she says. As a result, she adds, "I’ve been very lucky to work with some amazing people on their journeys."

And, of course, she hasn’t stopped acting. For the past few years, she’s traversed the globe for big- and small-screen roles, including time spent in London shooting the second season of the hit espionage caper Citadel alongside her co-star Richard Madden.

When we meet, right before the holidays in December, she’s coming off of a nearly-three-month stay in Australia for her latest project, the high-seas revenge thriller The Bluff. In the film, Chopra Jonas enters her swashbuckling era, playing Ercell "Bloody Mary" Bodden, a retired pirate who is forced to confront her murky past when members of the crew she deserted track her down and threaten to destroy the peace she’s found in the Cayman Islands.

The film, which began streaming on Prime at the end of February, couldn’t be further from Robinson Crusoe or the family-friendly Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, nor is Chopra Jonas playing the role of a lovable drunk swanning about like Captain Jack Sparrow. Instead, the picture, like her character’s name suggests, is brutal, blood-drenched, and, at times, downright gory. "It’s not for the faint-hearted. My mom watched it with half her face covered because [it was too] scary," Chopra Jonas says with a smile.

For her part, Chopra Jonas found it liberating to play a matriarch who is unafraid to do whatever it takes to save her loved ones. "There was something really freeing, bold, and honest about it," she says. "I would go to the ends of hell to protect my family, and we don’t get to see that with women characters very much." It’s a given that male actors are afforded the opportunity to be "violent and unapologetic" on screen, she says, but to her delight, her Mary dishes out all manner of grisly deaths, macheteing groins, blasting open craniums with double-barrel pistols, and in one scene, bashing an enemy’s face to a pulp with a conch shell.

In preparation for her role, Chopra Jonas went through stunt training and researched female pirates, discovering legendary historical figures like Mary Read, Anne Bonny, and Grace O'Malley, a fierce married mother of multiple children who commanded her own fleet of hundreds of men in the 16th century and was hailed as Ireland’s "Pirate Queen."

It’s that level of commitment that makes Chopra Jonas a unique talent, says her manager Anjula Acharia. "Her leadership is subtle but powerful," Acharia writes in an email. "It shows up in how prepared she is, how collaborative she is, and the standards she sets. On The Bluff, she was very intentional—not just about her performance, but about the story being told and the environment it was told in. For her, representation isn’t just about visibility; it’s about having real agency and depth, and that absolutely influenced the work."

The film reunited Chopra Jonas with the Russo Brothers, Joe and Anthony, the producing duo behind Citadel and the Captain America and Avengers films. Their sister, Angela Russo-Otstot, also joined the family affair as a producer and found Chopra Jonas’s influence on the set unmatchable. "Pri has a body of work that is mathematically confounding—some 70 films in her life thus far," Russo-Otstot shares. "When she shows up on a set, her depth of experience and work ethic are unmatched, but she is never showy about it. Instead, she is humble and admirably diligent. She has conviction and intentionality in every decision she makes, but also keeps space for healthy collaboration with everyone else around her...All that said, she doesn’t take any shit. She looks out for others—especially other women."

It’s a care and commitment that shows up not just professionally, but personally. Over the course of our conversations, it’s clear that deep friendships and strong family bonds are of the utmost importance to Chopra Jonas. "I like to keep a tight circle of people that I trust, because I give completely and wholeheartedly," she says. "The only way I know how to love is 100 percent. So either I’m all in or I have a wall. I don’t know how to do the in between."

Look closely at her forearms and faint autobiographical tattoos come into focus: paw prints for her three dogs, a portrait of her daughter’s face in profile, and, most notably, the phrase "Daddy’s lil girl," depicted in her late father’s handwriting, and etched on her wrist shortly before he died after a nearly-eight-year battle with cancer in 2013. "I was very close to him," she says of her father, a physician in the Indian Army. "We had this amazing bond, which was unsaid. It didn’t need a lot of words. His loss was tough on me. He was just 63—so young."

It was her mother who walked her down the aisle when she wed Jonas in a three-day extravaganza in Jodhpur, India. The couple had both a traditional Hindu ceremony and a Christian one. Skeptics who questioned the couple’s 10-year age gap and the relative speed of their whirlwind cross-cultural union—they began officially dating in May 2018, were engaged two months later, and married that December—have been all but silenced. In the slew of Instagram photos she shares with her 94 million followers, Mr. and Mrs. Jonas appear genuinely besotted, cuddling tenderly in quiet moments at home, smoldering at big-ticket galas, admiring their mutual genetic blessings on vacation in far-flung locales. A candid moment of Jonas lounging in a pool prompts a lascivious caption from Chopra Jonas: "When he’s just, out there...looking like a snack."

They’ve been married for seven years now, which for Chopra Jonas has gone by in a blink. "It feels like I don’t remember life before my husband, and it feels like he’s been in my life forever. It’s great. I’m lucky—really lucky," she says, previously sharing, "We love our little life and our little family and wherever we go, we fly home immediately. I’m on my way to the airport literally taking off my wig, my makeup, changing in the car, just because I want to run back home."

She describes Jonas as "so well brought up and just a good man who takes the time to understand behavior. He has an intelligence and wisdom about him, and I needed some of that wisdom in my life. We have found a balance with each other where we can truly be the best versions of ourselves because the other person’s supporting you."

Although their love story has been an enchanted one, the couple’s parenthood journey was anything but. In 2022, their four-year-old daughter, Malti Marie, was born via surrogate a full trimester early and spent 110 days in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit "fighting for her life," says Chopra Jonas, eyes welling at the thought. "Our daughter was very coveted and very desired because I had a really tough time with pregnancies," she says. "She’s my miracle baby, so everything just stopped when she was born. I think it’s a preemie mom or a NICU mom thing, but I’m still in constant fear. When she’s not right by my side or she’s at school or when I’m in a different country, it’s this feeling that your heart is running outside of your body."

Her support system helps, including a school-based mom group that seems to be the antithesis of the toxic ones that have dominated headlines in recent months. "A lot of them are working moms as well, but they don’t travel as much as I do," Chopra Jonas says. "They have been so helpful in sending me reminders. 'I know you’re in Korea but remember that tomorrow is snack day for your family.'"

Much like her parents, Malti Marie is a performer. "She’s in the middle of a room just telling her jokes and singing at the top of her voice," Chopra Jonas says, smiling. "It’s such a wonder to me that she’s this human being who has so much of me, my husband, her grandparents, her ascendants, and every day she’s a surprise. She’s the greatest gift of my life. A few weeks after our initial conversation in New York, I check in with Chopra Jonas over Zoom from my home in Lagos, Nigeria. "You have to have some suya and jollof rice [for me]," she says. Later that evening, she’ll travel to Hyderabad to film additional scenes for Varanasi, marking her return to Indian pictures after a years-long break. Rooted in Hindu mythology and spanning millennia, the project, shot in India and Africa, is "going to be a spectacle like never before," she promises. "We travel across the world, and we travel across time, which is what makes this movie really interesting."

Back in the real world, the new year is off to a rocky start, however. Greenland is at the center of a diplomatic crisis. World leaders are hurling veiled threats on international stages and ICE agents have descended upon Minnesota, killing two protesters and injuring several more. I wonder how Chopra Jonas will help her daughter navigate being a woman of color in America? How will she ensure her self-esteem remains strong?

"Even I’m grappling with where the world is right now and my emotions around how scary it is to be the parent of a young child at a time where the safety of children is so fragile." That said, Chopra Jonas looks to her own circle for inspiration and plans to remind her daughter of the beauty of being born from, "the incredible coming together of two cultures," she says. "She is the epitome of how incredible diversity actually is."

Motherhood has transformed Chopra Jonas in countless ways, she says. For starters, it’s made her infinitely more patient, grateful, and forgiving of herself. "I’m not as mean to myself. I used to berate myself when I failed at something, or didn’t achieve the level of excellence that I wanted," she says. "I’ve taken the pressure off. As women, when we are in ambitious jobs or jobs that require constant movement, we can be really mean to ourselves. To push yourself to be able to work that much harder."

And historically, the film industry has done an abysmal job of making women feel assured about, well, anything. In fact, it feels expressly designed to promote bottomless feelings of self-doubt; a feature, not a bug. "Our job is literally gig to gig as an actor, so there’s an internal anguish, 'I have to keep doing it and I have to be the hamster on the wheel,'" she says. "But at least in this season of my life, I’m giving myself permission to not run as much. Maybe it’s because I’m in a position where I’m able to make choices and seek the work that I want." She pauses, then continues, "I still want to build. I still dream big. I am very ambitious, but I feel like I can now operate with a sense of balance."

As Acharia sees it, "What I’ve seen over the years is a real shift toward intention," she writes. "Earlier on, it was about building and proving range; now it’s about choosing with care. She’s thinking long-term—about impact, about legacy, about shaping stories, not just starring in them. This next chapter feels less about doing more, and more about doing what truly matters to her."

All the talk of intention reminds Chopra Jonas of her short-lived stint as a pop star. After she waltzed away with the grand crown at the 2000 Miss World pageant, she was inundated with film offers. Though she had initially planned to study aeronautical engineering, the bright lights proved too intoxicating to resist. She made her acting debut in the 2002 drama Thamizhan. Work was steady and she soon became a household name. Still, she began to feel pigeonholed and longed to break free from the insular world of Indian cinema.

And so, in her late 20s, Chopra Jonas seized the opportunity to sign with Desi Hits!, which partnered with Interscope Records, despite having no music industry experience. "That fearless unwavering confidence in myself—I don’t know where it used to come from," she says. Interscope’s head and cofounder, legendary producer Jimmy Iovine, was her personal A&R rep. She worked with major players like will.i.am and palled around with the likes of Usher and Bono. Singing about being "hotter than the tropics," on tracks like the South Asian-inspired "Exotic," didn’t quite resonate with listeners, however.

"Sure, I can’t hit the note because Pitbull or Dr. Dre is sitting right there," she says with a self-deprecating chuckle. "I quickly realized that I wasn’t made for it and should go back to my day job of acting." She still has approximately 40 unreleased tracks buried somewhere deep in the recesses of her laptop. Will she ever play them for her chart-topping husband? Not a chance, she says, looking slightly horrified at the thought. "They’re in a vault somewhere until I find the confidence to bring them out again."

In that way, parenthood has focused her. "I used to want to juggle all the balls and do all the things, but now I listen to my gut a lot more. I’m more instinctive, and I’ve found power in being able to say 'no,' which used to be hard for me." To warrant being pulled away from her family, the projects she takes on need to mean something to her. "It has to touch my heart," she says. "Did it move me? Most of the work that I try to align myself with does." Seeking a deeper purpose, and not just accolades, says Chopra Jonas in her soft hum—that sounds perfect for this next chapter.

I'm sure Priyanka Chopra Jonas's main goal for this week was to get us all to watch the new Amazon Prime Video movie she's currently promoting, but after seeing the looks from her press tour, I'd say she accomplished much more than that. She somehow managed to make me a fan of the early 2000s dip-dyed hair look all over again.

Chopra Jonas is currently on a press run promoting her new film, The Bluff, which officially dropped on Prime Video on Feb. 25. In the movie, she plays a woman who's forced to defend the private island she lives on after it's raided by pirates—the film's plot would definitely explain the siren-inspired beauty and fashion choices she's made throughout the press tour. Earlier this week, for example, she was photographed in out in New York City ahead of an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where she was seen wearing a curve-hugging, lace maxi dress and an oversized black fur coat. More notably, though, was her hairstyle, which was styled in messy beach waves with the Millennial-beloved side part and a half-done braid placed framing her face. The ends of her hair were also dip-dyed a deep red color.

The half-red look appears to be the work of the actress's hairstylist, Bridget Brager, and it's likely just a temporary change for her that's meant to coincide with The Bluff's release, since she attended the Golden Globes in January wearing her signature dark brunette hair color. Still, whether you want something temporary or more permanent, now is still a perfect time to lean into deep, moody red hair colors if you're thinking of making a major hair change ahead of spring.

“Reds are definitely still having a moment,” celebrity colorist Nikki Lee previously told MC. “Think wine, mulberry, and berry-brown shades instead of super-bright cherry. I predict blondes shifting to copper reds, copper reds shifting to plum, and brunettes leaning into berry-browns.” Celebrity hairstylist Laurie Heaps echoes this, saying that brighter, copper shades of red will be highly requested this spring because they "feel luminous, flattering, and work on a wide range of skin tones."

On February 17, Priyanka Chopra set a new standard by wearing her The Bluff costume at the film's red carpet premiere.

With more than 25 years of fame under her belt, Chopra could've had a dress from Dior, Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney, or Zuhair Murad on her doorstep within hours. Even so, stylists Wayman + Micah sourced her The Bluff character Ercell's costume rack instead. She posed for photographers in a brown leather corset, hand-sculpted just for her by the movie's costume designer, Antoinette Messam.

According to Messam, it marks the "moment Ercell becomes the fearsome pirate, Bloody Mary" in The Bluff, layered over a matching long-sleeve catsuit. This time, Chopra paired the sleeveless bustier—featuring a cinched waist, sculptural stitching, and belt buckles in lieu of lacing—with a matching high-low skirt. Its fabric draped like a curtain beyond the asymmetrical hem onto the elongated train. The rugged, high-seas silhouette revealed peep-toe brown mules.

Messam said she was "in awe" when Chopra gave her character's armor another life at The Bluff premiere. "Inspired by the siren painted on her ship, the cuirass was hand-built, wet-molded over a scanned bust, then aged with battle scars and sea-worn history," the designer wrote on Instagram. "Thank you, Priyanka, this reminded me why I love what I do."

Zoom in to appreciate the half-mermaid, half-skeleton creature crafted from slightly lighter leather atop her torso. Behind-the-scenes videos revealed it fit like a puzzle piece between the chocolate-colored, lambskin border. A rare Bulgari Monete Weave necklace—another contribution to 2026's choker trend—elevated Chopra's costume from rustic to red carpet-worthy.

Once her step-and-repeat was complete, Chopra's corset traded places with another high-low look. This time, it was doused in bright yellow. The sunshine dress, featuring a peekaboo satin corset beneath a one-shoulder bodice, stood out inside The Bluff's after party. Similar to her red carpet skirt, chiffon ruching continued past her midi skirt's hem onto a train.

Method dressing is officially a red carpet mainstay, but few have actually worn their character's costumes out and about. Usually, they stay put in the archives unless a sequel is in the works. Autumn doesn't truly begin until Ralph Lauren takes the New York Fashion Week stage. On Sept. 10, the designer presented his Spring/Summer 2026 show and set fall street style in motion.

Priyanka Chopra was one of the first stars to set Fashion Month's seasonal tone. Before finding her seat in the front row, she posed for photographers in head-to-toe Ralph Lauren. However, given its extravagance in comparison to her other rings, we couldn't leave it out. After Taylor's death in 2011, the diamond was dubbed the Elizabeth Taylor Diamond and sold at auction for a staggering $8,818,500.

Kate Middleton 

In 2010, Prince William proposed to college sweetheart Kate Middleton with a 12-carat oval sapphire that's surrounded by 14 diamonds. If it looks familiar, that's because it was originally Princess Diana's, given to her in 1981 by the then-Prince Charles. Over 50 years ago, the stunning piece probably cost Charles around $47,000, but now the ring is reportedly worth over $400,000.

The now-iconic ring does, of course, come with a bit of controversy. Firstly, it was originally supposed to be given to Prince Harry's bride, not William's. Since William was ready to marry, Harry gave it up. Additionally, back in 1981, Charles presented Diana with an array of rings to choose from, but none of them were bespoke and anyone with enough money could have bought one. Back in 2017, Prince Harry proposed to the former Suits star with a three-stone ring, designed by Harry himself and full of sentimental meaning. A double life (triple, really) is how the busy entrepreneur explains her dynamic careers: an early stage Investor for a portfolio of female-founded startups, the co-founder of media company Desi Hits!, and the manager of Priyanka Chopra Jonas. 

While her career endeavors are diverse, Acharia explains that her business and professional life are often one-and-the-same. Mixing business and pleasure— like investing in Jonas's restaurant, SONA, is part of the excitement for Acharia. She wouldn't have it any other way. 

Her relationships and a recent move to New York from L.A. have also become a source of inspiration for her workday wardrobe. With a growing number of south Asian events on her calendar alongside global business partners, Acharia finds more reasons to wear traditional Indian garments that are both celebratory and empowering—a reminder of Acharia's Indian upbringing in the U.K. She's also trading her high heels for sneakers.

Ahead, we chat with the entrepreneur about her adaptable workwear style, the designers she's supporting, and her grown-up love for traditional Indian attire. 

On Her Morning Routine:

I wake up in the morning and do the worst thing ever—I reach for my phone. It's buzzing from the moment I wake up. I'll wake up to 100 messages. I like to do so much of my business on WhatsApp because I have such a global presence. I usually have something going on in London, Mumbai, L.A., and New York. Everybody I work with gets me there, whether it's Priyanka, one of my startups, or my founders. 

Then, I will rise and make myself a ginger chai, which is my thing. I'm so known for my tea. Everybody knows that I'm obsessed with it. Priyanka [threw] a birthday party for me [recently], and she goes, "What do you want to drink apart from tea?"  

I don't work out every day, but I'll try and work out a couple of times a week. Then I'll come back, shower, and start my ZOOM calls.

On Getting Dressed:

I'm always cold. It's rare for me not to feel cold, so the weather app is the first thing I check when thinking about what I'll wear. Compared to L.A., the weather in New York can be so crazy. My style is very diverse, but I indulge in that—and what I decide to wear depends on who I'm meeting. If I'm meeting someone in fashion or finance, I'll step it up. Payal Kadakia of Class Pass is one of my founders, and she's influenced me to meet her in workout gear.

On New York versus L.A. Style:

Everything in New York feels like it's about footwear. Right now, I want to find good sneakers and buy all of the things that look good with those sneakers. I'm thinking about a pair from Chanel.

I live in downtown Manhattan, and I want to be able to walk everywhere, especially in the warm weather. When I lived in L.A., my fashion wasn't about that. I wore heels and dresses for meetings and events and drove everywhere, or I was in sneakers and sweatpants at home. It was a clear distinction. 

In New York, I can find a place to wear everything—from jeans to dresses to jackets. I am loving this local New York designer named Dafne right now. She makes hand-painted and embroidered jackets. There's also another piece of my life, my Indian clothes. I'm obsessed with them.

On Feeling Empowered:

I met a designer named Falguni Peacock through a friend, and she re-introduced me to Indian fashion. 

Indian clothes were always too big for me when I was young. I grew up hating Indian clothing my parents would force me to wear, but they can be beautiful when they fit well. 

Peacock's clothes are incredible, and she has been dressing me in traditional Indian attire for more than a decade now. When I walk into a room in a Saree or a Lehenga, I feel like it's a piece of armor.

Of course,  I feel like a badass walking into any meeting wearing a power suit too.

Congrats are in order for Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who announced on Friday, January 21, that they had welcomed a new baby via surrogate. They posted a joint statement to Instagram to share the news, saying, "We are overjoyed to confirm  that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much."

The actress, 39, and singer, 29, were first rumored to be dating in 2017 after attending the Met Gala together and made things official in 2018. They were engaged in July of that same year and got married in Jodhpur, India, in December 2018. (If their slew of wedding festivities are any indication, this baby is in store for one hell of a first birthday party.)

Chopra Jonas has spoken candidly several times about her desire to start a family with her husband. In 2019, she told InStyle, "I want my existence to have meant something. I want my kids to turn around and be like, 'Yeah, that was my mom.'"

And during a Vanity Fair cover shoot in November 2021, The Matrix Resurrections star said children are "a big part of our desire for the future." She added that she and Nick are OK slowing down their careers to be able to raise kids. "We’re both okay with that."

Jonas's famous family has yet to publicly comment on their younger brother's new status as a dad, but Priyanka and Nick's baby is the newest addition to a growing gaggle of cousins. Kevin and Danielle Jonas already have two daughters, Valentina, 5, and Alena Rose, 7, and Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner welcomed a girl, Willa, on July 22, 2020.
