Despite being famous the world over, Princess Kate still seemingly enjoys flying under the radar whenever she can. Case in point: on Friday, July 10, the Princess of Wales made an unexpected trip to watch the ballet in London with two of her children.

In an X post shared on July 11, one royal fan revealed, "Last night, at the Royal Ballet, my neighbors were the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, as well as Prince George and Princess Charlotte."

A sneaky photo taken by the fan revealed that Princess Kate and Princess Charlotte were actually accompanied by Prince Louis—Prince George didn't appear to be in attendance, sadly.

According to the official schedule, Princess Kate and her children attended a performance carried out by ballet students. "The Royal Ballet School returns to Opera Holland Park with an inspiring celebration of 100 years of training at the foundation of British ballet," the program noted.

The royal children have already made multiple appearances throughout 2026, with Trooping the Colour throwing them into the royal spotlight in a big way. However, Kate's visit to the ballet alongside Charlotte and Louis appears to be a low-key outing without any fanfare. The Princess of Wales last attended the polo event in 2023, missing the charity match in 2024 as she received cancer treatment and skipping it in 2025. But the newest member of the Royal Family, Harriet Sperling, has been a regular at the polo cup since she started dating Peter Phillips in 2024, and the couple joined Kate for the equestrian action on Friday.

For this year's event, the Princess of Wales chose a past-season Temperley dress with a black and white gingham pattern, per Instagram account Kate Middleton Styled. The sleeveless style features a square neck, thick straps and a full skirt, and the princess styled her dress with tortoiseshell Ralph Lauren sunglasses.

In his book A Royal Duty, former royal butler Paul Burrell opened up about some of Princess Diana's secret outings.

"When she was feeling particularly daring, she opted to wear an elaborate disguise, and kitting her out soon became part of my duty," the former butler wrote.

Burrell continued, "Once, I was sent out to buy a shoulder-length straight brunette wig from Selfridges. Then I had to go to an optician in Kensington High Street and purchase a pair of large, round-rimmed spectacles...When I got back to [Kensington Palace], the princess couldn't wait to try on her new look."

According to Burrell, Diana's transformation was so huge that she looked like "a different person."

The former butler shared, "She tried to keep a straight face but I couldn't help gawping. 'Nobody's going to recognize you! Look at you!'"

Per Burrell, the former Princess of Wales began "shrieking with laughter" and had "tears rolling down her face" following his reaction.

The ex-butler shared that Diana reportedly snuck into Ronnie Scott's jazz club in London, and she did so wearing a "wig, glasses, black Puffa jacket, and denim jeans."

Princess Diana was reportedly elated by how well her disguise worked, allowing her to enjoy a normal night out with friends.

The next day, Diana apparently told Burrell, "The smoke in that club got into my eyes—even with the glasses on!" She allegedly continued, "When we were standing outside, we queued far too long for my liking. I started to chat up a man next to us and he didn't have a clue who I was. It was so funny. Basically, according to a former royal butler, Princess Diana loved wearing disguises to enjoy everyday experiences, which is completely understandable.

Prince William regularly makes jokes when conducting official royal engagements and his sense of humor definitely seems to help, even in more serious moments. On July 9, the Prince of Wales made a solo visit to Hastings, England, but one royal fan wasn't necessarily impressed after meeting the royal.

Prince William met a plethora of people during his visit to Hastings, including a baby named Sebastian. Per the BBC, a woman introduced the baby to William, saying, "This is Sebastian, he's been waiting for you."

According to the outlet, "when William crouched down, Sebastian burst into tears," which probably isn't the reaction the royal expected.

Not missing a beat, Prince William told Sebastian, "I know how you feel."

The Prince of Wales also remarked on how "hot" it was in the seaside town, and asked inhabitants if they were planning to go for a swim in the sea, via Hello! magazine.

Per the outlet, 4-year-old Arthur Turney—who was dressed as Spider-Man for the occasion—said he'd go swimming "when I get older." William responded by saying, "Today is the chance to swim. Go and make a big splash!"

On the Prince and Princess of Wales's Instagram account, a caption said of William's outing, "A visit to Hastings Commons, where neglected buildings have been transformed into homes, workspaces, and welcoming community spaces."

The caption continued, "Meeting young people at the youth club and spending time in the 'Public Living Room,' a place where anyone can find warmth, conversation, and connection. A powerful example of how community-led regeneration is creating opportunities and bringing people together."

Basically, Prince William's trip to Hastings appears to have been a huge success, even if one royal fan did start crying.

Despite losing his privacy case against Associated Newspapers earlier this week, Prince Harry is ensuring his visit to the U.K. is extremely productive and positive. On July 9, the Duke of Sussex made a trip to Birmingham Children's Hospital in honor of a specialist nursing program launched 20 years ago by the charity WellChild.

Prince Harry met with patients and their families, and he even opened up about his son, 7-year-old Prince Archie, who wasn't able to join him for the U.K. trip due to security concerns.

Per Hello! magazine, during a particularly memorable moment, Harry spoke to 12-year-old patient Alec Hill, saying, "Do you know who's obsessed with Lego? My son Archie—and he's a master builder."

It seems that both Prince Archie and Prince George enjoy building Lego sets. In January, Prince William visited the University of Bristol where he gifted "three small Lego figures of engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel for his children," per Hello!magazine.

At the time, the University of Bristol's vice-chancellor and president, Evelyn Welch, said on Instagram, "We were really delighted to give Prince William three little Lego models of Isambard Kingdom Brunel to take back home to his children. And he left saying that he knew where to come when George needed help with his homework!"

Prince Harry's hospital visit is especially important as the royal serves as a patron of WellChild, and was instrumental in helping launch the charity's nursing program.

As Prince Harry told staff members at the hospital, "I don’t know if you hear it enough, the difference that you make every single day is quite literally changing daily lives."

She added something borrowed and blue to her look, wearing the same pair of blue Alhamas espadrilles that Infanta Sofia previously wore to see the "Barbie" movie in 2023.

King Charles clearly learned a lot from his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, but he's also been striving to put his own mark on the throne. On July 9, The King paid a visit to London Zoo with Queen Camilla, and according to an expert, Charles displayed one of Queen Elizabeth's most valuable traits.

Body language expert Darren Stanton weighed in on the monarch's visit, telling Betfair Casino, "When he is looking at the penguins, Charles has his hands behind his back. That's almost his default posture."

Stanton continued, "It's clearly a comfortable position for him. If his hands were in front of him, you might sometimes interpret that as nervousness, but here he looks completely at ease in his surroundings with Camilla."

Charles and Camilla also had some fun when meeting the animals, which included helping a veterinarian take care of the penguins and feeding a 32-year-old Galápagos tortoise named Polly.

As for the one trait King Charles appears to have inherited from Queen Elizabeth, Stanton notes a moment the monarch spent with human beings at the zoo.

"When greeting a young woman, you can see he's fully engaged with her," Stanton told the outlet. "In many ways, he's very much like his mother. People often said that when they met Elizabeth II, they felt as though they were the only person in the room."

Stanton continued, "It seems Charles has either inherited or developed that same ability to build rapport and make people feel at ease."

According to the body language expert, King Charles was seen as "attentive" throughout the engagement, while "maintaining good eye contact."

Per Stanton, "Overall, Charles comes across as very self-assured, confident, and calm. We don't see any signs of pressure, stress, or a lack of confidence that we perhaps might have seen decades ago."

Wearing a long-sleeved turquoise Anna Valentine dress and a sentimental pair of turquoise drop earrings, Queen Camilla looked fresh and summery—if not slightly overheated—as she enjoyed a day of tennis in the royal box. Although she was pictured using her paper fan at one point, it didn't seem to be doing the trick, and she clutched her white fan throughout the afternoon as the temperatures soared.

The Queen's fan, designed by Tecknet, retails for under $20 on Amazon U.K. and features multiple speeds, and it seems like she might have been using the highest one based on a hilarious meme shared on Instagram by the Archbishop of Banterbury.

As for her other accessories, Camilla wore the turquoise drop earrings that King Charles gifted her ahead of their 2005 wedding, with jewelry expert Oliver Hobart, founder of 925E, commenting that the jewels "a beautiful example of late Victorian and Edwardian craftsmanship."

"Turquoise also carries a rich symbolism," Hobart adds. "Historically, it has been associated with protection, prosperity and enduring love, making it an especially meaningful choice for a gift between the then Prince Charles and Camilla before their marriage in 2005."

Sperling also wore some dazzling jewels to Wimbledon, choosing a pair of green amethyst drops by royal favorite jeweler Kiki McDonough that coordinated with her lime green Emilia Wickstead dress.

Paul Burrell’s royal career ended when Princess Diana died in 1997, but the former palace butler originally worked as a footman to Queen Elizabeth before moving to Highgrove House in 1987. King Charles’s country retreat was a welcome escape for the then-Prince of Wales, but as Burrell tells Marie Claire, life in Gloucestershire became increasingly “difficult” as Charles and Diana led separate lives.

Burrell, speaking on behalf of Champions Speakers Agency, said Camilla would visit Prince Charles during the week, when Princess Diana, Prince Harry and Prince William were in London.

“Now, I was finding my job very difficult by this time because I realized that my duties were to be split between my princess and her boys at the weekend and Charles and his friend during the week,” Burrell says. “So it was difficult to keep those two worlds apart.”

When Diana came to stay at Highgrove, Burrell says he would join the family for “lovely outings to Alton Towers, to Bristol Zoo” and events like birthday parties. “William would drive his replica Aston Martin car down to our house to give my boys a ride around the estate,” he shares, describing his relationship with them as “kind of one big family.”

However, tensions between the prince and princess made working at Highgrove less “fun” for the butler. He describes one incident when Diana called “late at night” asking to speak to Prince Charles.

“I said, ‘I'm sorry, Your Royal Highness, he's not in,’” Burrell recalls. After Diana asked where her husband was, the butler said he wasn’t sure.

“She said, ‘You do know, Paul, because you know where he is 24-7. So either you're not telling me or you're lying for him,’” Burrell says, sharing that he asked her to not “drag” him into the situation.

“This was long before you knew there were troubles,” he says of Diana and Charles's marriage, sharing that the call put him in a tough spot because his “whole world” depended on his job.

After Diana called Charles the next morning, the now-King called Burrell in to speak with him. The former butler claims that Charles was livid, asking, “But why couldn't you lie? Why couldn't you say that you couldn't find me? Why couldn't you say I'd gone for a walk at 11 o'clock at night?”

After telling his boss that it wasn’t his “job to tell lies,” Charles allegedly showed off his “legendary temper” and “picked up a book and threw it” at the butler.

Following Charles and Diana’s separation in 1992, Burrell relocated to Kensington Palace to live with Diana and the boys, with Burrell sharing that the princess “rescued” him from the uncomfortable situation at Highgrove House.

“I thought, my time's up. My time is up. Diana rescued me,” he says.

Prince Harry is visiting the U.K. week this week to support the Invictus Games, which will be held in Birmingham next year, and although he originally planned to bring his family for a reunion with King Charles, the meeting is now up in the air.

Earlier reports indicated that the Duke of Sussex was scheduled to bring wife Meghan Markle and kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet along with him, but security squabbles have resulted in Harry arriving to London alone. On July 7, Prince Harry learned that he’d lost his privacy case against Associated Newspapers, and after delivering a blistering statement that put The King in a compromising position, former royal butler Grant Harrold tells Marie Claire that he thinks a royal reunion is looking more uncertain than ever.

While royal sources have suggested that The King is still trying to arrange a meeting with his grandchildren, whom he hasn’t seen since 2022, Harrold says he doesn’t anticipate it being “happy families for a very, very long time.”

Prince Harry and six other claimants accused the publisher of the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday of unlawful information gathering, including phone hacking. In a joint statement released on Tuesday with fellow claimant Baroness Doreen Lawrence, the Duke of Sussex and the baroness said, “We came to Court seeking justice and accountability. But we have received neither.”

“It is a complete and obvious whitewash, but sadly not altogether unexpected,” they added. “However, the lengths to which the Court has gone to exonerate the Mail is as shocking as it is totally unwarranted.”

The attack on His Majesty’s Courts & Tribunals Service puts King Charles in an awkward position, with Harrold, speaking on behalf of Action Network, noting, “With everything that's happened over the last 48 hours, I'd say it's highly unlikely we're going to see any sort of reconciliation anytime soon.”

Of course, The King still may arrange a meeting with his youngest son and grandchildren, should the duke choose to bring them to Britain later this week. But as Harrold adds, “I just don't quite see how The King can come back from what's happened, and equally, I can't see how Harry can either. The gulf between them now seems deeper than ever.”

“To me, it feels as though the ship has sailed,” The King's former butler adds.

A lack of official police security has caused Harry to keep his children away from the U.K., but a source has told the Mirror that he's “frantically” trying to arrange a way to get his kids over safely. The insider added that Charles “would not pass up the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren and if there is a way of making it possible, he will do it.”

Only time will tell whether Meghan and the children make it back to Harry's homeland, but the Duke of Sussex will be in Birmingham either way as he supports the events surrounding the 2027 Invictus Games.

As for a reconciliation with the Royal Family, the Duke of Sussex told the BBC last year that he would “love” that, but acknowledges forgiveness might never happen with certain people. “Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book. Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things,” he said.

King Charles traded his crown for a military helmet during a visit to the Royal Tank Regiment in Dorset, England this week, and body language expert Darren Stanton says that the monarch looked like he was having the time of his life while testing out one of the regiment's new tanks.

“You may be cool... but you’ll never be King Charles III riding in a Challenger 2 tank cool 😎,” the Tank Museum captioned a video of The King riding in the commander's seat.

Donning a helmet and microphone, the monarch removed his suit jacket and climbed into the military vehicle, and King Charles seemed to relish the opportunity to get into the driver's seat. "King Charles has a mischievous grin and he’s really loving being on the tank," Stanton shares, speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, adding that he looked like a "kid in a sweet shop."

Stanton continued that Charles "very much looks the part" in clips of him driving the tank, adding that the monarch "can be seen asking lots of questions, which probably takes him back to his career in the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy."

The body language expert noted that King Charles appeared completely at ease despite the imposing equipment surrounding him. "Being on a tank can be quite scary and daunting, but there is none of that with The King," Stanton shares. "He looked genuinely happy and he's interacting with the other soldiers, with no masking smiles."

The King served in the military between 1971 and 1976, and Stanton says that Charles was able to tap into a different side of his personality and get "back to his grassroots" while visiting the regiment Monday. Peter Phillips and his new wife, Harriet Sperling, have made their first Wimbledon appearance as a married couple, and the new Mrs. Phillips included a special nod to her June 6 wedding in her tennis dress.

Harriet, 45, chose a tennis ball green style with a windowpane check pattern by royally-approved designer Emilia Wickstead, who created Sperling's exquisite lace wedding gown. The long-sleeved silk twill design featured a matching belt and pleated skirt, and the newest member of the Royal Family paired her dress with beige pumps from Princess Kate's go-to shoe designer, Emmy London.

Sperling and Phillips both went with one of the Royal Family's favorite sunglasses brands, with Harriet wearing a pair of vintage-inspired nude Finlay shades and Peter choosing a black aviator style. Although they weren't seated together, Peter's sister Zara Tindall also went with Finlay for her Wimbledon look, wearing a pair of the British brand's Tavistock sunnies in a champagne colorway.

Harriet completed her Wimbledon outfit with even more royal faves, wearing Kiki McDonough earrings and carrying a top-handled Anya Hindmarch bag in this season's trendy butter yellow color.

Sperling has been a huge fan of Anya Hindmarch's designs over the years and recently carried a woven blue straw bag by the royal warrant holder to the Badminton Horse Trials ahead of her wedding day.

People watching is part of the fun of Wimbledon, and their social media team's popular "Overheard at Wimbledon" series has just released a special royal edition. On Wednesday, July 8, the tennis championships shared an Instagram Reel featuring Princess Kate chatting in the stands with former tennis players Tim Henman and Debbie Jevans—and in the video, Kate shared some of the secrets behind her recent charity climbing challenge.

During the July 2 match they attended, Henman asked the Princess of Wales about completing the National Three Peaks Challenge, which saw her climb the three highest mountains in the U.K. "I did it in 24 hours, yeah," she told the former professional tennis player, adding that "trying to enjoy the process" was an important part of the challenge.

However, she admitted the weather conditions made it somewhat difficult in that sense. "The weather was atrocious," Princess Kate said. "I mean, everybody got soaked through, but it was a very stoically British sort of thing to do. You know, you’re soaking wet, and everyone’s going, 'Come on, we can do it.'"

The Princess of Wales took part in the event to support the hospital where she was treated for cancer, climbing on behalf of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. She said that knowing she was supporting cancer patients kept her motivated when things got tough.

"Everyone’s been so generous," Kate said. "That’s what keeps you going; it’s when you know you’re doing it for a good cause—it keeps you going through the harder times."

Following the National Three Peaks Challenge, the Princess of Wales shared some emotional family photos, including a rare snapshot of herself with her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, along with brother James and Prince William, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis and Prince George.

Along with discussing the Three Peaks Challenge, the Princess of Wales was also overheard commenting on the tennis action in the Wimbledon Reel, exclaiming "lovely" after some shots and asking Jevans, who is chair of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, how they choose the voices for the line calls. Jevans revealed that they choose "team members" from the club to do it, with tennis fan Kate agreeing that it "sounds authentic" that way.

As for Princess Kate's next Wimbledon appearance, fans should expect to see her there for the thrilling conclusion of the championships, handing out the trophies for the men's and women's singles finals this weekend.

Darren McGrady served as a chef to Queen Elizabeth before moving over to work for Princess Diana, and the former palace employee has shared the stark differences between the two households. Speaking to Heart Bingo Online, McGrady used the example of Prince William’s favorite ice cream to show how “relaxed” it was at Kensington Palace versus Buckingham Palace.

When William had a craving for ice cream, it was available to him at the press of a button at Buckingham Palace, McGrady shared, but it entailed a rather long wait.

“When I worked for The Queen, Prince William loved dark chocolate and asked for chocolate ice cream,” McGrady said. “The Queen would press a button, the page would come, she’d ask for the ice cream, and it triggered a long chain: head chef, pastry chef, silver pantry, glass pantry, linen room. Finally, 20 minutes later, William got his homemade ice cream presented to him.”

However, Diana ran a more casual kitchen environment. “At Kensington, it was much more relaxed,” McGrady said. “William would walk into the kitchen and say, ‘Darren, can I have some chocolate ice cream, please?’ I’d say, ‘Help yourself.’”

McGrady continued that William would “grab Haagen-Dazs chocolate chip, that was his favorite, open it, and sit in the windowsill eating it.” Princess Diana was also known to have a kitchen catch-up with Darren and the rest of the staff, often hanging out for snacks and gossip.

As for Queen Elizabeth, the former chef said that the late royal “had a sweet tooth and loved dark chocolate, especially anything over 60 percent cocoa,” adding, “Any dessert with chocolate on the menu was sure to be chosen.”

King Charles, on the other hand, isn't so much a cocoa fan. “Charles doesn’t like chocolate, and goes more for the fruit options,” McGrady revealed. “He would much rather have an orange olive oil tea cake or banana bread.”

Queen Mary of Denmark and her 15-year-old daughter Princess Josephine proved that mother/daughter dressing never gets old as they stepped out in coordinating outfits ahead of the royal family's annual summer holiday. They joined King Frederik, Crown Prince Christian and Prince Vincent to greet fans in the town of Graasten, and Mary and Josephine embraced pastel blazers and maxi skirts while braving the rain.

The Danish queen opted for shades of blue, pairing a light blue blazer with a navy maxi skirt, a crisp white blouse from M.A.B.E. Apparel and denim Chanel slingback flats. She finished the look with new mother-of-pearl flower earrings by Jennifer Behr and a diamond pendant from Danish jeweler Louise Grønlykke.

Princess Josephine put a Gen Z spin on the outfit, wearing an oversized butter yellow blazer by Ba&Sh Paris with a silky ivory maxi skirt covered in black polka dots. Like her mother, the princess chose slingback flats that matched her blazer, wearing pale yellow shoes by Copenhagen label Apair.

The teen completed her summer vacation outfit with a white top, oversized gold hoop earrings and a long gold necklace. Meanwhile, her father and brothers wore summery sport coats and chinos as they prepared for their summer stay at Graasten Castle.

During their outing, the family met plenty of members of the public, including a furry friend with royal ties. The Danish royals own two border collies, Grace and Coco, and Queen Mary had previously met Coco's father, Eagle, during a 2024 visit to the island of Funen.

Eagle's owner was also there in Graasten on Monday, and all five members of the royal family enthusiastically greeted the border collie, who bears a striking resemblance to their own pup back home. Perhaps Eagle can get his own blazer for their next run-in.

Princess Kate's mom had a mother/daughter date with youngest daughter Pippa on Monday before heading out with husband Michael Middleton, and on both days she turned to one of Kate's favorite brands.

Royals around the world have long relied on Me+Em's thoughtfully designed dresses, and Carole debuted a white v-neck dress by the British label on Monday before switching to a floral maxi at Tuesday's matches.

For her July 7 appearance, the future Queen's mother chose an ivory design featuring an olive and blue floral print, puffed sleeves and Me+Em's signature zip-front.

Carole has also been on a Longchamp streak, wearing sunglasses and a bag by the French designer for the second day in a row. While she chose a tan leather Le Roseau bucket bag for Monday's matches, she carried the same style in a straw version for Tuesday's tennis outing.

Longchamp happens to be a favorite of Carole's French daughter-in-law Alizée Thevenet, who is married to the youngest Middleton child, James.

As for Mr. Middleton, he coordinated with his wife in navy trousers, a beige suit jacket and a blue tie. And although the Princess of Wales didn't join her parents for today's matches, she did release a series of sweet family photos featuring her parents and brother after completing the National Three Peaks climbing challenge last week.

Prince Harry arrived in London on Monday, July 6 amid the ongoing drama surrounding his accommodations at Buckingham Palace, and on July 7, he received the news that he’d lost his High Court privacy case against Associated Newspapers, the publisher of the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday.

The Duke of Sussex was joined by six other claimants in the suit, including Sir Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley, and all 97 allegations made against Associated Newspapers were dismissed. Prince Harry appeared in court in January during the trial, during which the duke and his fellow claimants accused the publisher of unlawful information gathering from 1993 to 2011.

Harry and the other claimants alleged that the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday had used tactics such as phone hacking and bugging vehicles and homes in order to gain information for stories.

Per the Daily Mail, the judge’s ruling included comments on Prince Harry’s testimony, with Justice Nicklin stating, “it was apparent that he wished the court to understand the personal impact of the matters in issue. At times, this led him beyond giving factual evidence into advancing arguments on the issues.”

“As I indicated to Prince Harry at the time, that is not uncommon: many litigants feel a strong instinct to argue their case themselves,” the judge added. “Overall, this did not affect the quality of Prince Harry’s evidence, which I accept. As with each of the claimants, Prince Harry has limited evidence to give on the contentious matters in dispute.”

While speaking during an Invictus Games event at Chatham House shortly after the verdict was issued, the Duke of Sussex appeared upbeat as he joked about air conditioning and praised the “unconquered spirit” of Invictus athletes in a video shared by People's Simon Perry. Prince Harry will head to Birmingham, England later this week to celebrate one year until the 2027 games, which will be held in the city.

A statement from Associated Newspapers called the victory “a magnificent vindication of the Daily Mail’s journalism” and “an overwhelming victory for the Daily Mail and its journalists, and for a free press generally.” The Duke of Sussex's team has yet to issue a statement.

Royal nicknames are an endless source of fascination, with everyone from Queen Elizabeth (a.k.a. Lilibet) to Prince George (PG Tips) going by some adorable aliases. But when it comes to Queen Camilla, she has a rather unexpected nickname, according to royal author Gyles Brandreth.

Writing in his biography of the late Queen, Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait, Brandreth shares that King Charles “sometimes calls” his wife Camilla “Mehbooba,” noting the nickname is “Urdu for ‘my beloved.’”

Urdu is the official language of Pakistan and is also commonly spoken in India, a country Charles has a deep affinity for and has visited 10 times since 1975.

The King has even called Queen Camilla by her Urdu pet name during public speeches, like when he attended an event for the British Asian Trust in 2022.

“I cannot quite believe it is almost two years to the day that both my mehbooba and myself were able to be with all of you,” he told the crowd at the time.

Although King Charles doesn't speak fluent Urdu, he's proficient in French and can speak conversational German and Welsh, along with having knowledge of the Scottish Gaelic and Greek languages.

As for Queen Camilla's nickname, she also has another unusual one, although King Charles reportedly didn't care for it. According to royal biographer Robert Hardman (via the Daily Mail), some friends and family started calling her “Lorraine,” a play on the French word for Queen, “la reine,” when it seemed she'd never become Queen. “She always saw the funny side of that—even if Prince Charles did not,” a friend said.

As a busy mom of toddler daughter Athena, Lady Kitty Spencer might not hit the town as often as her younger twin sisters, Amelia and Eliza Spencer. But the 35-year-old daughter of Princess Diana's brother, Earl Spencer, made a stylish appearance in the South of France over the Fourth of July weekend while attending a dinner party and brunch for Aquazzura and Net-a-Porter.

Spencer kicked off the festivities in a little white dress with princess seams, adding a pop of vibrant yellow with Aquazzura's crystal-trimmed Tequila Mules. She kept the yellow theme going with the brand's gingham Bow Tie Clutch in a yellow-and-white pattern, wearing her blonde hair down in a straight style.

If royal watchers (and the media) are feeling confused over Prince Harry’s visit to the U.K., it’s no wonder. First, representatives confirmed that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet were coming to see King Charles for the first time since 2022. Then they weren't, and now the children may or may not come to Britain later this week. Regarding where Harry was planning to stay, Buckingham Palace has presented a different version of events than the Duke of Sussex’s representative—and as Queen Elizabeth once famously stated, it appears “recollections may vary” about the accommodation offered to the royal.

On Monday, July 6, multiple outlets reported that Prince Harry had accepted his father King Charles’s offer to stay at Buckingham Palace while visiting London this week, with Prince Harry’s spokesperson claiming that The King’s offer had been withdrawn after he had confirmed he’d be staying at the royal residence.

But sources at Buckingham Palace say that Prince Harry didn’t respond to the invitation by the deadline he was given, meaning they weren’t able to accommodate him with such little notice. As the Telegraph’s royal editor, Hannah Furness, wrote, “Buckingham Palace is not available on lastminute.com.”

It's understood that the Duke of Sussex rejected his father's office to stay at Buckingham Palace on Saturday after back-and-forth about security concerns, but then, as Furness put it, “changed his mind” before arriving in London on July 6.

Staffing requests had not been arranged in anticipation of Harry staying at the palace, with the royal editor noting, “The lack of courtesy to staff making such arrangements has raised eyebrows, as has the continued impression that the Duke considers the palace unsuitable for his needs.”

A court ruling about Prince Harry's privacy lawsuit is due to arrive Tuesday, presenting a tricky constitutional situation for The King, since he can't appear to be compromised in the litigation. The Duke of Sussex is understood to have secured his own security arrangements for his family during the trip after his request was denied by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures.

Prince Harry is visiting London ahead of his visit to Birmingham for the One Year to Go celebrations surrounding the Invictus Games, and is reported to meeting with various charities close to his heart.

Princess Kate has been dubbed The Children's Princess for her affinity with young people, and the future Queen expertly handled one interaction as she spent the day meeting patients at Evelina London Children's Hospital on July 6.

Dressed in the same white Suzannah shirt dress that she wore to Wimbledon in 2019, the Princess of Wales leaned forward to speak to one little boy in a video shared by Hello! magazine on Instagram. When 10-year-old Ejran asked if Kate was The Queen, she smiled and said "No, I am the Princess of Wales," telling the cardiac patient that she had come to witness the "amazing work" happening at the hospital.

The Princess of Wales has been patron of Evelina London since 2018, and she told Ejran that she was happy to meet "special children, very brave children like yourself."

The 10-year-old nodded when Princess Kate asked if he'd "lost count" of how long he'd been in the hospital, and he shared that he'd been waiting around to meet her.

"Oh you were waiting for me?" she exclaimed, adding, "That's so kind of you."

The Princess of Wales met a number of other young patients while touring the hospital, including a little boy named Arjun who sweetly blew her kiss.

Kate, who announced she was in remission from cancer in January 2025, also met with members of the children’s cancer program team. The hospital will be creating a new Children’s Cancer Principal Treatment Centre, which will bring together expert staff from the current service at The Royal Marsden and St George’s Hospital with Evelina London’s specialist teams who already care for children with complex and rare medical conditions.

In the early days of Prince William and Princess Kate's marriage, Pippa Middleton was a regular fixture on the social scene. But she's rarely seen in public these days, and the future Queen's younger sister was the only member of the Middleton family not pictured in the emotional photos Kate shared after completing the National Three Peaks climbing challenge. On Monday, July 6, Pippa made her first Wimbledon appearance in two years, joining mom Carole for a sunny day of tennis action.

Pippa, 42, looked summery in a floaty white floral dress by Reformation, wearing the brand's empire-waist Naira dress. The plunging, v-neck style features puffed sleeves and a red rose print, and the Princess of Wales's younger sister brought along an old favorite bag with her new dress.

She added a trendy touch with a pair of green Longchamp sunglasses and carried a new tan leather Longchamp bag for her mother/daughter tennis day—and at 71, Carole is looking more stylish than ever.

Queen Elizabeth II became known for many things throughout her tenure on the British throne. In particular, the late monarch apparently had a wicked sense of humor and many of her quips have been documented by royal biographers. For instance, when a former courtier turned down the chance to visit Balmoral with The Queen, she had a fairly brutal response.

In his book, Elizabeth II: In Private. In Public. Her Story, royal expert and biographer Robert Hardman shared, "A senior courtier was invited for a weekend at Balmoral but had to explain that he was already hosting a house party at home."

According to Hardman, Queen Elizabeth responded by saying, "Well, I won't be asking you again." Of course, most people would be horrified to be on the receiving end of such a comment from the literal monarch.

The biographer explained where Queen Elizabeth acquired her acerbic wit: "It was a dry, regal humor that she had inherited from her parents."

Hardman also noted that the late Queen "would not take herself too seriously."

Per the royal biographer, "A close aide fondly remembered how, late in life, she had a fit of giggles trying (and failing) to help a butterfly out of the window of her study at Balmoral."

He continued, "We need only look back to her Olympic appearance with James Bond in 2012 and her Paddington Bear Jubilee encounter in 2022 to realize how few, if any, world leaders would stoop to taking part in a comedy skit, let alone pull it off."

It seems that Queen Elizabeth truly was one of a kind and that included her penchant for delivering decidedly brutal comebacks.

Princess Kate recently completed the National Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds and awareness for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. As well as sharing her own insights about taking part in the activity, the Princess of Wales shared photos of her three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—who greeted her wearing matching outfits.

The Princess of Wales underwent the physical challenge, which involved climbing three mountains in the space of 24 hours, alongside her brother James Middleton. Upon completion, Kate's husband, Prince William, their three children, and Kate's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, were all present to celebrate the victory.

Notably, Princess Charlotte and her two brothers all wore dark jeans with trendy sneakers for their mom's emotional return.

In some of the photos, it appears as though Princess Charlotte was overcome with emotion when reuniting with her mom. When the young princess seemed to burst into tears, Princess Kate gave her a huge hug.

Per the Princess of Wales's caption, "This time last week, completing the National Three Peaks Challenge. A huge thank you to everybody who has supported The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity."

When announcing her participation in the challenge, Kate wrote on social media, "Cancer doesn't just affect the body. It changes how you think and feel and profoundly affects every aspect of life. I know this personally, and that the journey through and beyond treatment requires more than medicine alone."

She also noted that she was taking part in the "National Three Peaks Challenge, not simply as a physical endeavor but as a chance to explore life beyond diagnosis and to give something back."

Prince George is experiencing a major change this year, having left Lambrook School to attend his dad's alma mater, Eton College. The 12-year-old royal has a big future ahead of him, including becoming the heir apparent when Prince William becomes King. According to Prince George's godfather, the young royal is set to do "all sorts of amazing things" during his next step towards the throne.

During an appearance on Hello! magazine's "A Right Royal Podcast," Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton opened up about what Prince George can expect while attending Eton. "It's probably changed a lot since I [attended]," Lowther-Pinkerton said. "Actually, it certainly has. And in many ways, it's changed for the better."

He continued, "My son was there too, so I've seen it quite recently. You're very, very privileged to go there and there are all sorts of amazing things you can do."

Discussing the real benefits of attending Eton College, Lowther-Pinkerton explained, "[Y]ou can do anything you want. And they have these amazing societies—debating societies, history of art societies, where incredible people come down. Now that is a real privilege."

Lowther-Pinkerton—who previously served at Princess Kate and Prince William's private secretary—also noted, "I'm not saying this to lecture poor old George, but I'm saying if anybody goes to that sort of place, then you've got to take the opportunity to live it."

He continued, "And actually, dare I say, you've got to then realize how lucky you've been, and you've got to pay back in some way. Whether it's through public service, the military or whatever, you've got to pay back. But it is a great privilege, and you don't want to waste it."

Basically, by following in dad Prince William's footsteps, Prince George has an important destiny ahead of him.

Prince Harry is set to return to the U.K. this week, one year ahead of the launch of the Invictus Games in Birmingham in July 2027. During the trip, he will allegedly meet with members of the Royal Family, and it was previously thought that Meghan Markle and their children—Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet—would be joining him. Apparently, that's no longer the case.

According to a new report in Hello! magazine, "The Duke of Sussex will make his highly-anticipated return to the U.K. next week, but his wife and children will not join him in London." While Prince Harry will visit London from July 7 until July 11, Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet allegedly won't be present.

However, Harry's decision to travel to London solo doesn't necessarily preclude Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet from joining him in the U.K. outside of the city. Hello! reported that "no decision has been made as to the rest of the week yet and whether Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet will join Harry for other parts of the trip."

Still, royal fans will likely be disappointed that Archie and Lilibet won't be attending any public engagements alongside their dad.

Prince Harry underwent a long legal battle regarding the removal of his state-funded police protection.

Just days ago, the British government refused to provide police protection for Harry and his family in the U.K., unless they're inside one of the Royal Family's properties. As a source told the Guardian, "[Harry's] looking at every option to try and get the family here safely and keep them safe when they're on the ground. If he can find a way to do that he will."

The source continued, "The hope is they can meet their grandfather, but there is no way that can happen if they are chased by paparazzi wherever they go from the moment they step off the plane. He won't put his children through that."

Princess Diana experienced both negative and positive press throughout her life, and endured a number of personal challenges in the public eye. Namely, the former Princess of Wales split from King Charles, an event which was voraciously reported on by the tabloids. According to her former butler, there was one particular thing that Princess Diana really wanted "people to understand" about her life.

In his book, A Royal Duty, former royal butler Paul Burrell claimed, "All she had ever wanted was for the British people to understand what she had gone through, how difficult it had been. And while she felt that [King] Charles had truly made her suffer, she had learned from her suffering."

According to Burrell, the princess's divorce knocked her confidence in a major way, after a lifetime of self-doubt.

"She felt her low self-esteem had taken root in childhood when she had acquired many of her ideas about herself," the former butler wrote. "She had taken that poor self-image into the marriage with [King] Charles."

Burrell continued, "In [Charles], she focused solely on deriving a boost to her ego, through his recognition of her achievements. When it was not forthcoming, she said she felt rejected."

According to the former Royal Family butler, Diana also had to learn to come to terms with the emotions she was experiencing.

"The princess also needed to realize, and I think many people told her this, that anger was a natural emotion, but she felt many women found anger distressing," he wrote.

Burrell further explained, "She even hired a boxer to come to [Kensington Palace] with his punchbag so that she could rid herself of her anger. Diana, Princess of Wales, could certainly pack a mean punch."

Despite reports that the Prince and Princess of Wales were going to take on a U.S. visit for the July 4 holiday and attend a game, it’s understood that William and Kate don’t have any plans to cross the pond this summer, barring one major moment.

As patron of the Football Association and an avid fan of the sport, royal watchers expected to see the Prince of Wales supporting England during the World Cup this year. However, according to Charlotte Griffiths of the Daily Mail, President Donald Trump “didn’t invite him after all” for a July 4 trip.

Griffiths says what she’s been told instead is that “William wants to hunker down with the kids” after they get out of school in July. With Prince George heading to Eton College in September and Princess Charlotte exploring boarding school options, the journalist added that “it’s a really important summer for the Wales family.”

Rather than take a trip to the United States, the Prince of Wales is planning to spend time at his country home in Norfolk in addition to joining the Royal Family in Scotland. “He just really likes spending the summer with his children at Anmer Hall,” Griffiths said, adding that the Wales family also looks forward to their annual trip to the Balmoral estate.

There seems to be only one scenario that would make Prince William change his summer plans.“I think if England would get to the final, then I’d be very surprised if William didn’t attend,” Emily Nash of Hello! magazine told Page Six.

Griffiths also claimed that the Prince of Wales said he’d travel to the U.S. “if England gets into the final on July 19,” adding, “But somehow, I suspect Catherine doesn't need to worry because I just don’t think we’re going to get there.”

Princess Diana would have turned 65 on July 1, and ahead of the late royal’s birthday, her former butler, Paul Burrell, is reflecting on the final years of Diana’s life. The princess shifted her style and embraced her single life following her split from Prince Charles, but Burell says that Diana’s intentions were “misrepresented” in the ‘90s.

Burrell, speaking via the Motivational Speakers Agency, says that Princess Diana’s ambition was never to make headlines, but to use her platform to help the most vulnerable people in the world. He shares, “I find the princess in these times being misrepresented, misinterpreted and misunderstood because all she wanted to be was a humanitarian. She wanted to travel the world and shine her light on people who had been forgotten. That's all she wanted to do.”

While most of the public conversation surrounding Diana centered on her personal life and romantic relationships, the Royal Insider author says that those stories overshadowed the work that meant the most to his former boss.

“She could have sat back inside a palace, worn fabulous clothes and jewels and done nothing,” Burrell adds. “But she didn't. She used her profile to help other people.”

Diana dated heart surgeon Hasnat Khan between 1995 and July 1997, just a month before she died. Burrell calls Khan Diana's “true love,” adding that he helped the princess carry out the “love affair for two years without anybody knowing.”

“I'd smuggle him into Kensington Palace in the back of my car underneath a blanket,” he reveals. “This was my world and she trusted me with everything in it.” On the topic of Dodi Fayed, who was killed alongside Diana in a car crash, Burrell calls the late Harrods heir “a summertime romance.”

“Hasnut Khan was the love of her life,” he says. “Dodi was a distraction. She met with Dodi and that path led to disaster.”

Princess Kate completed the National Three Peaks Challenge over the weekend, climbing more than 10,000 feet and walking 23 miles on behalf of the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. During her trek, she ran into 11-year-old Ted Haslem, who has been paralysed since the age of three. Haslem was carried up the three mountains in his wheelchair by a group of friends and family—and fans who viewed the tween’s JustGiving page spotted a very familiar name in the roster of top donations.

Haslem completed the challenge to raise money for Molly Olly’s Wishes, a charity that has supported Ted and other children with serious illnesses. After meeting Ted and his group during the challenge, the Princess of Wales made a personal donation using the name “Catherine Wales.”

“One of the real highlights of the Three Peaks Challenge was meeting inspiring people like you along the way,” she wrote on the JustGiving page. “Huge congratulations to the entire team for raising money for such a wonderful cause. C.”

Haslem and his dad, Pete, made an appearance on Britain's This Morning program, and Ted beamed as he shared the story of his encounter with the Princess of Wales. "I would have just walked past her, to be honest," Pete said, describing the princess as looking like "another hiker."

“The reason why it happened, she wanted to speak to us,” Pete said. “She initiated the conversation. You know, seeing a kid being dragged around the mountain so to speak with 16 burly blokes, she wanted to see how we were doing.”

Ted shared that he’s met Prince William and Prince George at an Aston Villa match before, and said he told the Princess of Wales, “Well at first we said, ‘I think we know your husband, because we met your husband at the Villa.’”

Hilariously, the 11-year-old added, “But the funny thing, she realized who I was, but I didn’t realize who she was.” His dad added, “It took a while for the penny to drop, didn’t it, Ted?”
