King Charles and Queen Camilla are continuing their U.S. state visit on Wednesday, April 29, and they left Washington, D.C. for a day in the Big Apple. While The King headed to Harlem for a solo event, The Queen encountered Carrie Bradshaw herself while visiting the New York Public Library.

Joined by Sarah Jessica Parker, Queen Camilla viewed a selection of historic items in the library’s collection that highlight the special relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom. The New York Public Library’s permanent treasures collection is home to the teddy bears that belonged to Winnie the Pooh author A.A. Milne’s son, and The Queen brought a meaningful gift to add to the collection.

The original Roo doll has been missing since the library acquired the bears, and Queen Camilla brought a replacement Roo made by British manufacturer Merrythought, which produced the original toys. She also read an excerpt from Winnie the Pooh to local school children at the library, joined by Jim Cummings, the voice of Pooh in the original animated film.

Queen Camilla also held a reception for her charity, The Queen’s Reading Room, at the library, with famous faces like Anna Wintour, Jenna Bush and author Harlan Coben gathering alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and 100 guests from the literary, publishing and cultural worlds.

Speaking with media at the event, Parker—who is a strong supporter of literary causes—said, "Every time you shine a spotlight on reading and the relationship between a reader and a book and how it changes lives and enriches lives and cultivates empathy and curiosity, I’m so grateful. And for Her Majesty, it means a great deal."

Meanwhile, The King visited Harlem Grown, a local community organization and after-school initiative that turns abandoned city lots into sustainable farms. King Charles spoke with founder Tony Hilliery about its partnership with schools to provide safe environments and health foods, and also met with students taking part in some of the charity's agricultural activities.

During a chat with one child, The King received a sweet compliment. "I like your hair," the student told King Charles, via People. “Do you? Good,” the monarch replied.

King Charles is an enthusiastic supporter of farming and keeps his own chickens, so there was no better guest to help children feed chickens at the charity's coop. He also watched students take part in a food education session and viewed Harlem Grown's hydroponic walls of lettuce—another activity that was sure to be of interest to organic food champion King Charles.

Later in the evening, Their Majesties will wrap up their trip to New York at the Greater Together Reception in partnership with The King’s Trust. The event will celebrate the United Kingdom's cultural impact on New York City as well as the work of King's Trust America.

There’s a particular kind of woman Gen Z struggles with, and her name is Carrie Bradshaw.

Spend five minutes on TikTok, and you’ll find the Sex and the City character's trial laid out in full: financially irresponsible, emotionally chaotic, not a “girl’s girl,” and chronically drawn to men who should have been blocked by episode three. The verdict, it seems, is unanimous. And yet, you can’t convince me.

Because, while the charges are not entirely inaccurate, they miss the most endearing part about Carrie: she refused to be categorized. And in a culture increasingly obsessed with neat identities—clean girl, quiet luxury, coastal grandmother, balletcore—this may be her greatest offense. Carrie was never one thing, but I think that was the point.

One day, she was in a razor-sharp three-piece suit, and the next, a tulle skirt that had no business being worn after the age of five (but she did, and then we all wanted to wear tutus too!). She paired vintage fur with bare legs, sequins with sweatshirts, and wore sky-high stilettos to casually pick up milk. Nothing “matched” and yet everything worked.

In the end, it wasn’t even really about the style. It was about permission. Carrie gave us permission to wear a slip dress at noon. To treat a sequin skirt like knitwear. To carry a tiny, impractical bag simply because it delighted her.

In Carrie’s world, which became all of ours, nothing belonged to just one category. She dismantled the idea that clothes had rules—and replaced it with something far more interesting: instinct.

Gaining entry into Carrie-esque dressing requires not falling into the obvious trap of treating her like an aesthetic to replicate. No, Carrie is an attitude to adopt. You don’t dress like Carrie. You dress like yourself…just braver. That said, if you’re looking for entry points, here are some cheat notes.

The Unexpected Pairing

Take something traditionally “precious” and ground it. Consider a tulle skirt with a grey sweatshirt, satin heels with worn-in denim, or a silk blouse half-tucked into something almost too casual.

Every outfit needs one item that doesn’t quite make sense on paper. A vintage brooch. A feathered bag. A belt that feels borderline unnecessary.

The “Why Not?” Dress

Wear the dress. Not later—now. To dinner, to errands, to nowhere in particular. Carrie democratized glamour long before it became a buzzword.

Attention, Sex and the City fans. No need to queue up the 2008 film's opening scene to see Sarah Jessica Parker's first dress: Zendaya just gave the little white dress its red carpet debut at the 2026 Essence Black Women in Hollywood event.

Marking her first official red carpet since the 2025 Met Gala, Zendaya and Law Roach returned to reclaim their styling crowns on March 12. Z showed out in "one of the most iconic dresses in movie history," in Roach's words. The vintage Caché dress—including a single strap, ruched center, and thigh-high slit—looked custom-made for Zendaya. Roach confirmed he "found it," it being Parker's exact number, down to the oversize 3D floral appliqué atop her shoulder. Gold-flaked feathers sprouted out from the rose's center, before stretching onto the dress's bust and waist. There's even more history than the SATC reference: It's also a replica of the Eugene Alexander dress worn by Whitney Houston in 1987.

The Carrie-ness of it all stopped there: Zendaya traded Parker's Christian Dior Gladiator Sandals for her go-to Christian Louboutin So Kates. The Euphoria actor's arm was also noticeably missing one Barneys shopping bag and a canary yellow clutch. Instead, she flaunted a new wedding band—her second one this week—from Cartier.

On Tuesday, Zendaya attended Louis Vuitton's Fall 2026 fashion show with a studded, $3,050 Cartier ring on that finger. This time, she switched out her Jessica McCormack east-west diamond in favor of Cartier's $4,100 Extra-Large Trinity Ring. (At this rate, she'll have a wedding ring collection to rival Victoria Beckham's 15 sparklers in no time.) The ring matched her mixed-metal, $7,500 Trinity Earrings, also from Cartier. Zendaya's Cartier Love Bracelet, on the other hand, was just 18k yellow gold.

This isn't the first time Zendaya paid homage to SJP's Carrie Bradshaw. During the 2024 Challengers press tour, she and Roach got their hands on a vintage Vivienne Westwood Spring 1994 skirt set. Parker wore a similar Vivienne Westwood mini skirt—featuring the same back feather bustle—in Season 4 of Sex and the City.

It seems Zendaya plans on continuing her bridal style streak, even if she has to track down an almost 20-year-old white dress to do so. If her red carpet looks are this wedding-inspired before The Drama press tour begins, I, for one, can't wait to see the star in full bridal mode. (She plays a bride in crisis in the thriller-comedy.) It's the closest I'll get to seeing her in a wedding gown, so I'm soaking up every moment.

Manolo Blahnik's crystal-trimmed Hangisi pumps became burned into the popular imagination when Carrie Bradshaw wore them on her wedding day to Mr. Big in the first Sex and the City movie, sending scores of fans to buy their own pair. But millennial brides aren't the only ones who can't get enough of the iconic shoe, as Queen Mary of Denmark proved on Wednesday, February 25.

The Danish queen has served as patron of the Danish Psychiatric Foundation for two decades, and she celebrated the organization's 30th anniversary in a navy outfit with pops of sunny yellow. Wearing a navy Red Valentino dress with a pleated skirt and jewel-trimmed collar, Mary viewed an exhibit titled "Elephant in Space," which featured painted elephant sculptures by 30 Danish artists.

The Psychiatric Foundation's event was centered on "talking about the elephant in the room," and Queen Mary coordinated with the colorful sculptures' bold hues with her yellow heels.

Manolo Blahnik's Hangisi pumps feature a 4-inch heel and a crystal buckle detail at the toe, and Mary matched her shoes to her bright yellow YSL clutch.

Queen Mary isn't the only royal to have worn Carrie Bradshaw's famous wedding shoes in a different color. Princess Kate loved the classic pumps so much that she chose to be immortalized in them, with the royal wearing the green Hangisi shoe in a 2022 portrait of the then-Duke and Duchess of Cambridge painted by British artist Jamie Coreth.

In the painting, the Princess of Wales wears a shimmering green dress by the now-defunct brand The Vampire's Wife along with an emerald green version of the beloved Manolos.

Unfortunately, the Princess of Wales has never actually worn the shoes IRL, but there's always hope.

Thanks to Sex and the City, Sarah Jessica Parker has first dibs on any Fendi bag she could possibly want from now until eternity. Carrie Bradshaw carried the iconic Baguette to It-bag status in the early aughts, and Parker has been known to still love the style to this day. Still, it seems she's swapping the shoulder bag for one of the brand's most viral accessories from the Spring 2026 runway.

Parker arrived at the 2025 Booker Prize ceremony (she was a judge in this year's competition) in London on November 10 with Fendi's latest take on the Peekaboo front and center. Once again, she styled herself in a witchy corseted dress, which could've been plucked straight from her Hocus Pocus costume rack. What made the mauve, velvet-trimmed midi feel less Sarah Sanderson-esque, more runway-worthy, however, was her bag: She carried the brown, single-strapped top-handle Peekaboo showcased on the Spring 2026 runway, which kicked off what Marie Claire calls the "Pickpocket-Friendly Handbag" trend. Its chocolate, calfskin leather exterior (which matched her pointy pumps) drooped down to reveal an inside layer of lavender sequins.

The playful use of paillettes made the Peekaboo, a style first introduced in 2009, a "dream for quiet dressers, from the neutral 'goes with everything' leather to the practical, phone-wallet-keys-Kindle-sized compartments," wrote Halie LeSavage, Marie Claire's senior news fashion editor, after it appeared on the Fendi Spring 2026 runway.

The reimagined Peekaboos created a "colorful sense of ease," which appeals to fashion's introverted extroverts—Parker included. Though she missed the Spring 2026 show, I presume the actor watched the livestream like the rest of us: in awe from home. Clearly, the trapezoidal tote and its sequin surprise caught Parker's eye.

Other Fendi Peekaboo renditions flung open to reveal chartreuse fringe, lilac suede, and even pixelated sequins beneath bubblegum pink faux fur. Similar single-strap styles dominated the Spring 2026 shows: Dior and Chanel to Loewe and Tod's all left their handbags purposely undone.

"Watching Fendi’s gaping Peekaboo bag come down the runway, I felt the urge to reach through my screen and snap it safely closed," wrote Emma Childs, Marie Claire's fashion features editor, of the nascent trend. "Despite its pervasiveness on the Paris and Milan Fashion Week runways, a one-sided handbag, designed to splay open, is risky business."

Still, Parker is one of the first brave stars to wear it out.

Celebrity Ugg outfits are an art and a science. This week, Sarah Jessica Parker delivered a lesson in styling her cozy, at-home Ugg slippers with a stack of rising fall trends.

On October 16, Parker was spotted outside her apartment in New York's West Village. Though her bombshell blowout was still fresh from attending the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show the night before, her street style was decidedly relaxed. First, she tapped into plaid's resurgence with a babydoll top. A checkered combination of burgundy, white, and black covered the entire tunic. Her wool coat—in a very Victoria's Secret-coded shade of pink—brought out the pattern's warm tones.

Next, she slipped on cuffed light-wash jeans. Clearly, Parker kept tabs on the Fall 2025 runway circuit. Valentino, Moschino, and Isabel Marant rolled up their denim in a similar form.

In the footwear department, Parker revived a signature shoe from filming And Just Like That: Ugg's Tazz II slippers. The slip-ons have gone viral time and time again, mostly for their shearling lining and zig-zag stitching. A subtle platform on each sole sets Parker's pair apart.

Kaia Gerber, Mikey Madison, Selena Gomez, and Kendall Jenner—all of whom own similar models—prefer to style them with chunky socks. Parker, on the other hand, went hosiery-free. She didn't even carry a designer handbag. Oversize sunglasses and diamond stud earrings finished the actor's off-duty 'fit.

Parker has been familiar with Ugg's game for years—since her Sex and the City days, in fact. In Season 6, Carrie Bradshaw debuted the Classic Short Boots in gray, burgundy, and tan, featuring calf-length shafts.

Her affinity for Ugg didn't end with the initial series, however. She's worn the brand's best-sellers on the Sex and the City and I Don't Know How She Does It movie sets; even on dates with her husband, Matthew Broderick. In 2022, she continued the tradition on And Just Like That with the Ugg Classic II Slipper. Though the show's final season premiered in August, Parker and Ugg's clearly lived happily ever after.

Like pretty much every Millennial who grew up watching the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, my eyes are glued to the TV to see the angels strut down the glittery runway. However, the celebrity arrivals to the 2025 show have also proven to be particularly noteworthy (seriously, Bella Hadid's leather pants and bouncy blonde hair nearly did me in). The runway has gone through a bit of a makeover during the last few years, with athletes like WNBA star Angel Reese and Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee walking in the show this year—who wouldn't want to catch the newest installment of the legendary lingerie presentation? Sarah Jessica Parker, having conveniently just attended the New York City Ballet Fall Fashion Gala in her own pair of wings, was one of the famous faces I was most excited to see walk the pink carpet ahead of Wednesday's show. And, true to form, she brought her iconic balayage blonde hair (expertly blended with her silvery stands) to the event, this time styled in a trendy-yet-classic half-up, half-down look.

Parker's hair was swept straight back—no side or middle part needed—to allow her exceptionally dewy complexion to take center stage. Her long blonde locks sported a barely-there soft wave, with the perfect amount of devil may care bend in the middle that suggests she really did wake up looking this fabulous. The warm, golden blonde hue is also the perfect sun-kissed holdover from summer's hottest hair color trends, and given Parker's amount of (I assume faux) glow, she looked as if she'd just gotten off a private jet from the Côte D'Azur.

While SJP is no stranger to a bombshell blowout like the VS angels wore this season, I'm happy to see that she balanced her elegant half-up, half-down hairstyle with a sultry smokey eye and a creamy mauve lipstick (a shade that I predict will dominate fall makeup trends). Dame Pat McGrath, who led the glam team backstage for the 2025 show, would be proud of this come-hither eye moment, that's for sure.

Paired with her sculptural black dress and (what else?) strappy black heels, the Sex and the City actress proved once again that she is a red pink carpet icon for the ages.

If there's any makeup trend I'll never get tired of, it's the smokey eye. I've been a devotee since my days doing my own makeup as college dancer (we don't have to get into that), and Sarah Jessica Parker is reminding me exactly why I'm a fan.

The And Just Like That actress was photographed in New York City on Oct. 8 while attending the New York City Ballet Fall Fashion Gala. For the event, she looked like a literal angel on earth wearing an Iris van Herpen design that featured a cream mini dress with black netting on top and three-dimensional wings that extended on either side. As to be expected, Parker's glam was equally as fabulous: she pulled her hair back into a sleek bun with a middle part and wore dark, smokey eye makeup. It really gave chic Black Swan.

Parker's never been afraid of a dark eye makeup moment. Last year, while attending the London after party for her play, Plaza Suite, she wore smokey makeup with an added a bit of shimmer.

The smokey eye was a staple on red carpets in the early 2000s since it was a go-to for people looking to add some extra drama and flair to their makeup looks, but it's a classic look that's never really gone out of style since it's so easy to customize and can be as dramatic or as dialed back as you want it to be.

Sarah Jessica Parker has RSVP-ed "yes" to almost every New York City Ballet Fall Fashion Gala since 2010. Parker is known for stealing the show, whether she's in Valentino, Carolina Herrera, or Zac Posen. On October 8, however, she outdid herself in one of Iris van Herpen's most theatrical creations.

The New York City Ballet hosted celebrities, theater buffs, and New Yorkers alike for its 13th annual affair. Before ballerinas debuted choreographer Jamar Roberts' newest work, VIP guests walked the red carpet. Iris van Herpen brought the costumes to life for the performance, so it was only right for the designer to dress Parker, too.

The Dutch designer loaned Parker Look 9 from her Fall/Winter 2025 Couture collection. Everything about the gown, from the geometric netting to the elongated train felt stage-ready, like she was about to portray the Black Swan in Swan Lake. Voluminous, three-dimensional wings crowned her shoulders, cascading down her sides. The bodice's see-through mesh returned at triple the size on each wing.

Her V-shaped waist also matched the motif, but the fabric turned opaque atop her hips. The train, made of liquified silk, flowed elegantly behind her with each step.

As seen on the runway, nude fabric lined Parker's chest, waist, and hips for extra coverage. The model, on the other hand, bared her stomach in a diamond-shaped cutout. A subtle slit up the center revealed the model's avant-garde Mary Janes, contrary to Parker's classic peep-toe pumps. Though her closet hosts the SJP footwear archives, the Sex and the City alum accessorized with $1,360 rhinestoned heels from Aquazzura.

The Iris van Herpen look marked quite a dramatic shift for the Fall Fashion Gala regular. In recent years, tea-length dresses were more Parker's speed, including a black Carolina Herrera dress in 2023. A satin bow fastened in her hair complemented its tutu-esque skirt. In 2024, she shined in a silver Oscar de la Renta dress, which ended around her ankles.

Clearly, Parker adores a tea-length silhouette both on or off screen. (See her sheer Simone Rocha dress in Season 3 of And Just Like That.) But of all the dresses she's worn to recent New York City Ballet galas, it's this year's that truly took flight.

Fans and hate-watchers of Sex and the City spinoff And Just Like That... are not okay. Following the announcement that the HBO Max series will wrap at the end of its third season, the show's cast took to social media to share their thoughts about Carrie Bradshaw's story coming to an end. Sex and the City icon Kim Cattrall, who portrayed Samantha Jones in the original series and subsequent movies, also posted on Instagram, and fans are wondering if she was subtly referencing And Just Like That... abruptly ending.

Actress Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte York, re-shared showrunner Michael Patrick King's statement announcing the end of And Just Like That... and added her own emotional message. "I am profoundly sad," Davis captioned her Instagram post. "I love our whole beautiful cast and crew. 400 artisans working so hard on our show with deep love...And to our loyal fans, we love you forever and ever." She also commented on the post, writing, "Thank you to you all...You hold me up and I do not take it for granted."

Meanwhile, Cattrall—who famously declined returning for the Sex and the City spinoff—shared a photo of a beautiful sunset, along with the caption, "It's the end of a very long week."

Even though Cattrall's Instagram didn't reference the Sex and the City spinoff, fans interpreted the timing of her post as being connected to the show's cancellation.

Cynthia Nixon, who has played Miranda Hobbs throughout the franchise, shared her own tribute on Instagram. "I can't believe our wild beautiful And Just Like That ride is almost over," she captioned her post. "It has been such a delight from start to finish. I will miss working with these people everyday SO incredibly much but know we will always be a part of each other's lives. Get ready for a lot more carousels in the weeks to come! And don't miss these last few episodes: surprises in store!"

Still, most And Just Like That... hate-watchers will agree: there's no better time to start planning that Samantha Jones in London spinoff starring Cattrall.

There is a great Anne Boyer poem called “At Least Two Types of People.” The first type of person makes sense in society: “They are not alien from the creation and maintenance of the world, and the world does not treat them as alien.” They intuitively know the right way to sit, stand, eat, dress. The second type does not have it so easy. This type repels and resists, and is someone “for whom the salaries and weddings and garages do not come.” Carrie Bradshaw of Sex and the City and the considerably more deranged reboot And Just Like That… raises the possibility of a third type of person.

At 58-ish years old, despite having all the material trappings of the first type and (almost) none of the bad luck of the second, Carrie fits the definition of alien exactly. (That run-walk always felt off...) She is in a long-distance situationship with the most annoying man this side of Appalachia, is writing historical romance fiction inspired by the rats in her backyard, and still hasn’t bought furniture for her Gramercy Park home that features a grumpy-hot British tenant she won’t admit she’s attracted to. She got the job, the boyfriend, and the apartment in the city where she argues you’re always looking for one of the three (see: episode 5, season 5 of Sex and the City), yet she’s having bad phone sex and wearing hats that give her the appearance of a cottagecore Speedy Gonzales.

Amid this sorry state of affairs, we have one last bastion of relatability—a potential window into the psyche of the third type of person: the books she reads. The hardbacks Carrie carts around in lieu of a Gucci top-handle or Fendi baguette might just reveal the emotions she obfuscates with quippy one-liners.

While Carrie has always been a reader, trophies of literary fiction appear in AJLT as more welcome product placement than Carrie’s egregious ingestion of TUMS. The books are, in part, star and executive producer Sarah Jessica Parker’s influence, as she provided the props team with literary suggestions for different characters. The actress has said to plow through two volumes a day in the run-up to her duties as a Booker Prize judge, a great excuse for why she doesn’t watch her own show. (SJP also has an imprint with independent press Zando, publishing work by contemporary women novelists, including Lucy Caldwell’s prizewinning These Days.)

I found myself pausing the show whenever a book appeared, hoping for a crumb of intertextual honesty. While we could interpret the vintage reissue of Helen Garner’s This House of Grief as a mere styling complement to a purple satin tunic, I couldn’t help but wonder: Was reading a book about, say, a father’s trial for the murder of his children a sign of plot points to come? A diegetic cry for help? Below are my findings (though I’m bereft to report I’m no closer to locating where in the world Che Diaz is).

'This House of Grief' by Helen Garner

Beloved Australian writer Helen Garner has only recently caught on in the U.S.; Carrie must have read the New Yorker profile that described Garner as “candid about her emotions, analyzing them with a degree of remove which allows her to illustrate, with an unsparing empathy, how irrational we all can be, and how little we understand of our own behavior, let alone that of those around us.” This House of Grief is an interesting choice. The nonfiction book recounts the 2005 trial of Robert Farquharson, a man charged with drowning his three sons, ages 10, 7, and 2, by driving his car into a dam.

Blame it on being a boy dad, but the transcripts of Farquharson on the witness stand reminded me of Aidan (John Corbett) at his whiniest: “I should have been there, Carrie…I should have been there.” Carrie has remained democratic about the situation regarding Aidan’s problem child, Wyatt. But after he “accidentally” bashed her in the head during laser tag, I wouldn’t blame her for indulging in the fantasy of a little roadside accident portrayed as a crime of passion.

'Evenings and Weekends' by Oisín McKenna

Spied between the bulges at Anthony’s (Mario Cantone) newly opened Hot Fellas bakery is Carrie’s U.K. edition of Evenings and Weekends by Oisín McKenna, a novel about gay 20-somethings sucking and fucking their way through a hot summer in London. Carrie has always been alarmingly prudish and out of touch for a sex columnist. She couldn’t stomach dating a bisexual man in the ‘90s and refused to say “vagina” in an ad on her podcast, resulting in its entire collapse, putting her comedian co-hosts Che Diaz (Sara Ramírez) on the street and Jackie Nee (Bobby Lee) off the wagon. So this fever dream of a book about love and lust is also research. What is it like to see a naked body that isn’t Aidan’s or Big’s? Would she ever again feel the sense that she was “alone in an enormous city, and there were dozens of shapes her life might take”?

Carrie is probably also using McKenna’s prose to better picture Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) in London, where “fashion queers strut past the station dressed like early 2000s pop stars and characters from The Matrix.” The PR maven doesn’t deign to give Carrie a scene report herself—she appears only as an iMessage bubble about once a season, having adopted the mantra of Cattrall: “I don’t want to be in a situation for even an hour where I’m not enjoying myself.”

'The Life of the Mind' by Christine Smallwood

Christine Smallwood is the high priestess of writing about the phones. Her characters text, scroll, and photograph; the drama erupts from the screen. AJLT similarly spins around the axis of technology. Multi-episode plotlines are dedicated to boomer-style mishaps like Aidan’s thumbs-up reaction to a message or ill-timed phone sex. Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker) had her phone on silent mode while she was in the editing bay with her work crush, meaning she didn’t get the call that her father had a stroke, meaning she missed saying goodbye to him when he died for the second time. Carrie once professed, “After all, computers crash, people die, relationships fall apart. The best we can do is breathe and reboot.” She’s never giving up that MacBook, so she might as well lean in.

'We Burn Daylight' by Bret Anthony Johnston

Bret Anthony Johnston’s Shakespearian novel about star-crossed lovers in a doomsday Christian cult, based on the real Waco, Texas siege, is a warning against isolation. Amanda Peters’s mystery revolving around a 4-year-old Mi'kmaq girl kidnapped from a blueberry field in Maine is rich with strange coincidences—and the same can be said for Carrie’s life. She’s perpetually waiting for a sign that the man is right, that the shoe fits. If The Berry Pickers can offer any insights, it’s that the world never makes logical sense.

'Catch the Rabbit' by Lana Bastašić

A female friendship novel that doubles as a Bosnian road trip adventure, Lana Bastašić captures the tension inherent in a relationship between two women who use one another as a mirror. “I can’t recall half my childhood, yet I remember the details of her with irritating clarity,” Bastašić writes. “Blue bubble gum, watermelon flavor. A scratch on her left knee. Cracks in the red lips. One time she had told me that writers write because they don’t have memories of their own, so they make some up.” Carrie has had tiffs, rifts, and all-out rows with every one of her friends, though she is most comfortable being a bitch to Miranda (Cynthia Nixon). God forbid a houseguest help herself to a yogurt. (Though tiptoeing to the bathroom fully nude in someone else’s home is bizarre, I’ll admit.) Bastašić shows how important history is to a friendship, but if Miranda makes one more wrong move, she risks Carrie’s new pal Seema (Sarita Choudhury) replacing her entirely.

Earlier today, Parker attended a photo call in Paris ahead of the Max revival's May 29 release. She reunited with Kristin Davis (Charlotte York) and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) dressed in her best Hocus Pocus cosplay, walking the red carpet wearing the runway equivalent of her Sarah Sanderson costume.

She sported a witchy Vivienne Westwood gown, which tapped into the late designer's signature design elements. The mauve creation had a corseted bodice and a drapey silhouette, with raw seams at the sleeves and hemline. It's the kind of dress that would billow magnificently on a windswept broomstick.

Despite the 32-year age gap, her 1993 costuming was barely distinguishable from its modern-day incarnation. Back then, she wore a 17th century-style corset dress in a similar shade of dusty mauve. The bodice was embroidered with elaborate floral designs, while her skirt was comprised of rich, burgundy fabric.

Parker later reprised the look in the 2022 sequel, Hocus Pocus 2, topping it with the same eggplant cloak she wore in the first film.

Parker has been summoning her '93 character all week long. Last Wednesday, she wore another Sarah Sanderson-esque look for a New York City AJLT event. Another day, another truly insane Sarah Jessica Parker And Just Like That look. The evolution of Carrie Bradshaw's style on the Sex & The City spinoff series has been a bit controversial to say the least. Gone are the lived-in white tank tops and messy curls of her younger years. In their place, polished blowouts and eccentric monochromatic looks have taken hold. The fashion of And Just Like That may not be everyone, but watching these titillating outfits trickle in from set has given life shape and purpose for me.

Styled for the show's forthcoming third season by costume designer Molly Rogers, Parker stepped out on Oct. 23 in a pink sequin knit tucked into a voluminous red tulle skirt from Molly Goddard. The color-coordinated look was layered beneath a red and brown plaid coat and topped with a crushed pink velvet fascinator. She also wore pink satin ankle-strap peep-toe sandals and best of all, a quadruple-decker pie basket. Never has an ensemble more loudly declared, "Thanksgiving came early, ladies."

Later in the same episode, it seems like Parker ditches the pies in favor of a vintage Vivienne Westwood "mock croc" handbag from the designer's "Climate Revolution" Spring 2013 collection and a copy of Alexei Navalny's memoir Patriot, which details the author's time in a Russian prison. It's not exactly light reading, but it wouldn't be the first time And Just Like That has explored Bradshaw's political beliefs. Last month, Parker was spotted on set pairing a teal sweater and tights with a paint splattered tote bag from The States Project, a nonprofit organization that specializes in supporting state legislatures.

It was tough to track down the exact coat and sweater Parker is pictured wearing, but close approximations for the color and pattern of those pieces can be found from Byan and Comme des Garcons Play.

Needless to say, I'm looking forward to seeing what, in fact, Carrie Bradshaw was doing with all those pies. The third season doesn't have an official release date, but it will premiere sometime in 2025.

Sarah Jessica Parker has come out in support of Vice-President Kamala Harris.

The actress shared a picture of herself hanging a Harris/Walz sign in her window on Oct. 23, presumably in a bid to encourage her fans to vote for the Democratic ticket in the upcoming presidential election.

"For the love of my country," Parker began before listing all the other reasons she's made this choice. "For our public schools. For books. For common sense gun laws. For a living wage. For opportunity. For women. For voting rights. For the Dreamers. For arts and culture. For my mother and senior citizens. For our military, past and currently serving. For the climate. For hope. Parker brought the point home with one of her cats' appearance in the picture. As a reminder, the actress as Carrie Bradshaw adopts a cat named Shoe in And Just Like That... and she also does not have any children.

IRL, Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick actually adopted the cat actor who plays Shoe, whose real name is Lotus. They also own two other cats, named Rémy and Smila, and share son James, 21.

An ardent supporter of the ballet, Parker has been a red carpet mainstay at the annual event for two decades now. She usually wears something elaborate and theatrical, but the Sex and The City star somehow managed to outdo herself this year with a look that screams winter snowflake princess.

I'm particularly mesmerized by her glam, which breathes new life into the frosty eyeshadow trends of the '90s and early aughts. The secret seems to lie in the way makeup artist Mariel Barrera added structure with a matte brown eyeshadow in the crease and a gunmetal shadow along the lash line, before strategically placing a wash of silver glitter across the inner corner and mobile lid. With a dusting of rosy blush and a pinky-nude lip for good measure, the result is dimensional, but grounded—a truly modern take on the Y2K beauty trend beloved by Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. To keep the focus on Parker's face, hairstylist Serge Normant pulled her long blonde hair into a sleek side ponytail.

Parker kept the drama going with an off-the-shoulder tea-length dress from Oscar de la Renta covered in silver flowers and layers upon layers of white tulle. Carrie Bradshaw carried a tote bag with the names of Democrats running for election duct-taped onto it during season two, so it wouldn't be the first time the show has explored the character's political leanings.

The actor matched her sweater to a set of opaque teal tights in a nod to the revival colorful hosiery has been seeing on the spring runways. Ferragamo, for instance, sent burnt orange, pale pink, taupe, and burnt orange tights down the catwalk at Milan Fashion Week earlier this month. Versace, meanwhile, renewed the sheer red tight trend for Spring 2025.

Running up and down the stairs of the set's townhouse, Parker make the towering shoes look as natural as slippers—not an easy feat in a market dominated by actual flats and Mary Janes. Of course, Carrie Bradshaw is the last character who would abandon heels entirely, no matter what's happening in the zeitgeist.

Hybrid shoe trends are becoming a fixture in Parker's wardrobe, on and off set. Last week, she wore a pair that combined a ballet flat's curved toe with a lower pump heel and a Mary Jane strap. Intermezzo, the book Parker held in her hands on set, is Rooney's fourth and highly anticipated book. It's also only available for readers to pre-order until its official release in September—meaning Parker pulled some strings to get a copy.

Parker was spotted out and about in her native New York City, wearing a cross between kitten heels, ballet flats, and Mary Janes. Her shoes boast an unusual silhouette, combining the most iconic (and disparate) elements of each style: The black leather was adorned with a small bow on the toe and a string of pearls across the bridge of her foot.

SJP paired the eye-catching shoes with a minimalist outfit. She wore light grey slacks with side slits at the ankles, a white oversized quarter-sleeve button-down that could work as a dress on the 5-foot-3 star, and of course, her own branded tote bag. Her blonde hair was styled in long mermaid waves with a large cream-colored floral hairpin.

John Preston (Chris Noth). Fate led her back to her ex-fiancé Aidan Shaw (John Corbett)—and the debates that have ensued for decades over who Carrie belongs with resumed.

It's since been confirmed that the Carrie-Aidan-will-they-won't-they is set to continue, as AJLT was picked up for season 3 once season 2 wrapped up in August 2023. Before fans can be back gabbing over lunch with their favorite New Yorkers, we're breaking down everything we know about AJLT season 3.

When will 'And Just Like That' season 3 be released?

We'll be strolling the streets of Manhattan with Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and co. again starting on Thursday, May 29. Max announced the premiere date in mid-April when it shared the official poster. In a press release, the streamer confirmed that episodes will air weekly on Thursdays until the finale on August 14.

The show was filmed throughout spring 2024, with photos of Parker on set and in character as Carrie—wearing everything from a contemporary take on her iconic tutu look to oversized hats and Dr. Scholl's sandals—surfacing online. Filming ran throughout the summer and into the fall, and Parker confirmed they were done shooting on October 31, 2024, with a post on Instagram. The star fittingly shared a photo of herself outside Carrie's brownstone, writing in the caption, "And so, as one season ends, another begins. #AndJustLikeThat Season 3 has officially wrapped production back where it all started. See you in 2025, lovers."

Who will return in 'And Just Like That' Season 3?

The beloved besties who originated in Sex and the City—Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda—and the core of the show will, of course, be back. The new additions to their circle of friends will also be back: Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker) and Seema Patel (Sarita Choudhury).

Along with the gal pals, many of their families and longtime, close friends will appear, including Anthony Marentino (Mario Cantone), Charlotte's husband Harry Goldenblatt (Evan Handler), and their children Lily (Cathy Ang) and Rock (Alexa Swinton), and Lisa's husband Herbert Wexley (Christopher Jackson). While Miranda and Steve (David Eigenberg) are no longer together, he'll still appear, given how much her relationship with her son Brady (Niall Cunningham) has become a focus of the show.

It's also been reported that several season 2 guest stars have been upped to series regulars: Sebastiano Pigazzi, who plays Anthony's love interest Giuseppe, and Dolly Wells, Miranda's coworker Joy. Rosemarie DeWitt, who briefly appeared as Aidan's ex-wife in season 2, will also return.

Aidan fans can also rest easy: John Corbett will return, which was teased when he was spotted on set. Season 2 saw the former flame give their relationship a go again and ended with them committing to trying long distance, as Aidan revealed that he needed to return to Virginia to be with his son.

There are a few names that definitely won't be back. In February 2024, months before the show moved into production in early May, Variety reported that Sara Ramírez, who played Miranda's romantic interest and nonbinary comedian Che Diaz, wouldn't be returning. It hasn't been announced why exactly Che—the subject of much criticism in online chatter surrounding the show—will no longer be a part of AJLT. However, sources told Variety that the character "had reached a natural conclusion since their relationship with Miranda had ended."

Nya Wallace, Miranda's professor-turned-friend and another AJLT-originated character, won't be featured in season 3 either. Karen Pittman, who played the fan-favorite new addition, was confirmed by Deadline as unable to return due to scheduling conflicts in March 2024.

Have any new cast members joined the 'And Just Like That' season 3 cast?

A few special guests will join season 3. In early May, comedy icon and TV personality Rosie O'Donnell announced on Instagram that she had joined the cast as a character named Mary. She posted a photo of the teleplay for the first episode of the season, titled "Outlook Good," and captioned the post, "here comes mary #andjustlikethat @hbo."

Months later, King confirmed additional, big-name new cast members to Entertainment Weekly in a January 2025 interview. The showrunner revealed Broadway legend Patti Lupone will play an undisclosed character and comedian Kristen Schaal (known for roles on sitcoms like Bob's Burgers, The Last Man on Earth, and What We Do in the Shadows) will also appear.

Several other new additions have been announced. In June 2024, Variety reported Logan Marshall-Green, Mehcad Brooks, and Jonathan Cake are all set to play recurring guest stars, but details about their roles remain unknown.

What will 'And Just Like That' season 3 be about?

Going into season 3, there are certainly stories to continue for some characters like Carrie, and new avenues to explore for others.

One of season 3's central plotlines will certainly revolve around Carrie and Aidan's rekindling. While the couple (who was once engaged) got back together last season now that Aidan's divorced, he admitted that he needed five years to fully commit because he felt compelled to return to Virginia to raise his children. Meaning, they'll now have to tackle long distance.

While speaking with Variety following the season 2 finale, creator/showrunner Michael Patrick King spoke about the status of Carrie and Aidan going into season 3. He said, "It gives us more story. It gives us an open end. It gives us a complicated problem. It gives us space. It gives Carrie a big thing to think about, you know what I mean?"

He added, "What it gives us is a problem that we have to figure out: how Carrie Bradshaw finds her way through this to love."

Before Aidan told Carrie he needed to return to Virginia, she had promised to move out of her home of many decades on the Upper East Side for him since he felt he could never reenter the space, given their history there. While he did set foot in the space to tell her his realization about needing to go back to Virgina and Carrie's since decided to hold onto the space, her big gesture seems as if she doesn't want to ruin their partnership this time. Distance of course could change that.

In fact, it seems very possible that a bit of rockiness is on the horizon for the love birds. When Corbett was spotted filming AJLT season 3 in May, fans captured footage that they shared on social media of Aidan yelling outside of Carrie's brownstone. In the brief clip, he yells up to her window before picking up what looks like a travel duffle bag and storming up the stairs. For longtime fans of the franchise, it's giving déjà vu.

Miranda, meanwhile, is single again, after pursuing a divorce with Steve and calling things off for good with Che. The show has been committed to exploring her coming-out story, so perhaps she'll be open to meeting new people while co-parenting Brady with Steve.

Charlotte is also back to work for the first time in years, Seema is in a new relationship with Marvel filmmaker Ravi (Armin Amiri), and Lisa recently reached a new career high with her documentary filmmaker and is dealing with the fallout of a miscarriage.

Is there a trailer for 'And Just Like That...' season 3?

You bet! When Max revealed the season 3 premiere date, it also dropped the official trailer. The uplifting clip teases the gal pals as they revel in summertime, including summer flings. "There’s nothing like summer in New York City. With its hot days and even hotter nights, something new and unexpected always awaits," Carrie's voiceover says as she's writing from a patio outside of her new apartment. As for what the new and unexpected might be? It looks like just about everybody has a new crush—from Lisa and Miranda having eyes for coworkers to Charlotte's daughter's teen romance to Carrie flirting with a neighbor, despite still dating Aidan long distance. Meanwhile, it looks like Carrie is attempting to write fiction for the first time (perhaps the next great romance novel or romantasy read?). We can't wait!

Will Samantha ever get her own 'Sex and the City' spinoff?

If fans didn't miss Kim Cattrall's Samantha enough already, her cameo in the season 2 finale of AJLT was even more of a reminder of how much we love her—and how no one will ever replace her. After the series explained Samantha's absence because she and Carrie had a falling out and she moved to London, the two reconciled following the unexpected death of Mr. Big by exchanging text messages and, at the end of season 2, she appeared in an on-screen scene. Samantha returned ever so briefly as she called Carrie from a cab to send her well wishes after her flight was canceled so she could no longer make it to the send-off dinner that she was hosting before moving out of her Upper East Side home of many decades. She spoke in a British accent—a la Annabelle Bronstein, her alter ego from the original series—and made fans everywhere laugh and cry.

While a minute-long scene was enough to make fans clamor for more, it doesn't seem like we'll see additional Samantha scenes. While speaking to Variety following the season 2 finale, King said of her cameo, "I really thought it was a little treat, and I would never build any expectations on more."

Fans have also been curious whether Samantha could have her own show. We'd certainly love to witness Sam Jones' sexcapades and fabulous lifestyle across the pond, but Cattrall has been adamant for nearly a decade about how she no longer wants to play the outspoken publicist. For now, we'll have to take any witty text exchange between Carrie and Samantha on AJLT that we can get.

Sitting perched on a bay window bench in her New York City store, milliner Gigi Burris is wearing one of her own creations, a black felted flat-brim hat called the Kyleigh. It's noon on a bright April afternoon, and her Chinatown boutique hasn't opened yet for shoppers. "Should we do a tour?" she asks me, half out of her seat and eager to show off the store she opened earlier this fall.

I'm there with the milliner of the moment to get a behind-the-curtain look at her couture style of hatmaking. We start in the studio tucked in the back, where Burris and her team make all headwear by hand. She walks past straw summer hats and 1920s-inspired cloches to pick up a Swarovski crystal-studded veil fascinator lying on a workbench. “This is a custom piece for a client going to the Kentucky Derby, and this [a woven fedora embellished with silk ivory flowers] is for a client going to the Central Park Conservancy luncheon this fall," she says.

Since the very start of her career, Burris has been a hat maker in high demand: Two weeks after graduating from her hat-making program at Parsons School of Design in 2009, Rihanna borrowed pieces from Burris's senior collection for a cover shoot with W Magazine.

But she anticipates an unprecedented boom for her brand in the coming months. The sudden resurgence of hats on the Fall 2024 runways—from feathered newsboy caps at Prada to ladylike pillbox styles at Altuzarra—has ushered fashion into the era of the personality hat.

The shift excites Burris. “It obviously bodes well for business,” she says. Future upticks in sales aside, Burris hopes the fall 2024 hat trend heralds a widespread movement of more expressive dressing. She references her network of industry tastemakers who use her statement pieces to punctuate their personal style. Street style swan Jalil Johnson, for one, waxed poetic about Burris in a March edition of his fashion newsletter, Consider Yourself Cultured: Johnson noted that the Laura pillbox hat's assertive powers took a baggy, suited outfit "from a lady who lunches to a lady who owns 51 percent of the company." The latter is exactly the kind of self-assured person Burris designs hats for.

But all are welcome within the Gigi Burris universe. She points to a mood board tacked up in her workspace and describes her aesthetic as an eclectic amalgamation—from religious undertones to rock-and-roll. There are photos of angels, Spanish moss, and swans next to printouts of Willie Nelson and Mick Jagger. Another corkboard for her Fall 2024 collection features photos of '40s-era furniture, textural close-ups of velvet fabrics, and cowboy hats. "We were feeling Western when putting this together, which was well before the Beyoncé situation," she notes.

Keen on hats and headwear as a kid, Burris was always slightly ahead of her time. "Growing up in central Florida, I dressed a little kookier [than other people] and wore a lot of vintage hats," the designer recalls. In a Paris study abroad program with the Parsons School of Design, Burris became enamored with the city's appreciation for craftsmanship, prompting her to immediately enroll in a millinery course when returning to the States. From that point forward, she was hooked on hatmaking.

Mentoring under the acclaimed headwear artist Leah Chalfen, Burris honed her skill of couture hatmaking and later graduated in '09 with the prestigious Parson's Designer of the Year award (past recipients include Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler). She soon made a name for herself as the hatmaker to the stars, with not just Rihanna, but Lady Gaga finding an affinity for Burris's hats and Madonna wearing her flat-brim designs when performing "Living for Love" on stage. Burris realized it was time to level up as more commissions came in. She officially launched her hat business in 2012—the eponymous Gigi Burris Millinery.

Today, the brand is a best-seller amongst only a handful of other hat designers at retailers like Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. Her roster of celebrity clients even more robust, ranging from Hailey Bieber to Dr. Jill Biden. Recently, Sarah Jessica Parker wore Burris's straw Eftagine Beret on the second season of And Just Like That... A "very, very special Carrie Bradshaw moment" for Burris.

Admittedly, Burris's trajectory is atypical. “I didn't set out to have my own brand—it sort of happened organically,” she admits. But throughout the whirlwind of early-on industry acclaim and celebrity co-signs, she's been able to stay the course. “The magic for me is the materiality [of hatmaking]. I love working with my hands and with artisans who use traditional but innovative artisanal techniques to produce quality designs made to last.”

Every Gigi Burris piece is crafted using the hand-blocking technique, a centuries-old process of sculpting and shaping the hat’s material over a wooden form or bock. Midway through the tour, Burris walks over to a shelf lined with them. She's worked with the same local NYC hat block manufacturer since her Parsons days.

Burris now pulls out a straw hat made using a proprietary technique of weaving ribbon and raffia together to make it packable. “A super advanced sewer named Chandra makes [these] for us. If we didn't have her, we wouldn't be making this piece because it's so complicated,” she notes. Then, she points to a bouquet of intricate satin rosettes on a headband made by a fourth-generation silk flower atelier, one of the last in the U.S., and references sparsely available vintage ostrich feathers from another local mom-and-pop shop.

She recognizes that, while not quite extinct, the art of millinery is certainly at risk. “These artisans retire, or their factories close, and all that know-how and knowledge disappears," she explains. In June 2022, the hatmaker launched the non-profit foundation Closely Crafted to help preserve those skills and foster future generations of milliners and skilled craftspeople. “There is a need for young artists and talent to be inspired, excited, and willing to work in this industry, so we can keep it thriving and sustaining for decades to come.”

And just as you need people to make the hats, you need people to wear them, too. Burris is optimistic, though, that the incoming fall headwear phenomenon will inspire a far-reaching renaissance. “Part of the barrier to entry is that people don't have the confidence to wear hats. But when you see someone wearing a hat whose style you admire or one on the runway, it's much easier to visualize it in your wardrobe,” she says.

Jess Graves, author of the fashion newsletter The Love List and founder of the creative agency Graves Studio, tells me that the catwalk recently converted her into a hat-wearer. When visiting Burris's shop earlier this winter, she "immediately zoned in on the Sharina hat," a pinched-crown cap that looks similar to hats on The Row's runways, influencing the fashion writer to invest.

For the hat-curious—those intrigued but perhaps too intimated to earnestly wear a classic Cowboy or floppy bucket off the beach—Burris has a straightforward bit of advice: "Just wear it." Even just once, she says, is enough to start building up the confidence to commit to the accessory. "It's just getting over that first hump."

The designer also encourages wearing hats for the everyday, menial moments. "People always ask, 'Where do you wear those veiled fascinators?' I think it's really more of, well, where do you not wear them? With the right mindset, [a veil] is just as appropriate for a 7:00 p.m. date at Temple Bar as for a gala," she says. The hatmaker recently wore a black mesh headpiece for an early, casual dinner in Paris. "We were just eating fries and having a glass of white wine."

As we wrap up the conversation—at the same bench by the front window—in a perfect moment of synchronicity, a woman walks by Burris's storefront wearing an ivory Panama hat. She looks fabulous.

Sarah Jessica Parker lit fashion group chats on fire yesterday with a polarizing new costume for her character, Carrie Bradshaw, and her upcoming third season of And Just Like That.... Photos surfaced of Parker in a towering gingham sunhat with ribbon straps and hot air balloon-esque volume. The look also included a pair of comfortable Dr. Scholl's sandals her character had worn on Sex and the City in 2002—but they were quite literally overshadowed by her headwear. Cue the active comments section, and a 180-degree turn for her wardrobing the next day.

The actress returned to set in Manhattan on Tuesday, May 21, in layers of balletic sheer tulle from Simone Rocha's Spring 2024 collection. Her look started with a completely sheer dress that was fitted through the bodice and featured bunches of faux roses secured just under her hip bones. Over the top, she threw on the coordinating jacket from the runway styling; the pale pink piece also has faux roses sewn into the sleeves and dainty bow ties at the cuffs.

Parker's whole look felt like a makeover of Carrie's famous pink tutu from the original Sex and the City title sequence. It has the same balletic shade and skirt made for twirling—but with the all-over sheer fabric, it's more assertive in its femininity.

The look also shows present-day Carrie's fashion expertise. Simone Rocha's Spring 2024 collection is one of a handful credited with kick-starting a sheer fabric trend on and off the runway.

And Just Like That... costume designers Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago shared behind-the-scenes photos of Carrie-slash-Sarah's new look on their official Instagram for the series' outfits. "Many thanks to Simone Rocha and Aquazzura for working with us for Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie!" the duo wrote. They also shared a glimpse at accessories that weren't visible in the paparazzi photos: Parker also carries a canvas Whitney Museum tote and dials up her outfit with jewelry from Heili Rocks and kWIT Jewelry.

She only had a few hours to enjoy her fresh-off-the-runway Simone Rocha look. Hours later, Parker changed into a much more relaxed outfit, especially by Carrie Bradshaw standards. The outfit (which Santiago and Rogers haven't shared credits for quite yet) featured a cornflower blue sweater and sorbet orange pants laced with metallic threading.

Filming for And Just Like That... season three has just begun. More changes are coming to the show than Carrie's latest outfit changes. Cast members including Sara Ramirez have exited the series; season two also ended on a cliffhanger that teases new relationships for Bradshaw and company. (I won't spoil them here.) For now, fans know this: Sarah Jessica Parker is still keeping her character's original wardrobe in mind as she pulls together her new outfits.

Sex and the City first aired a full 26 years ago, and after you read Sarah Jessica Parker’s comments about the classic show—which just had its big Netflix debut on April 1—you may never think about it the same way again. 

Parker is the star of the show, playing columnist Carrie Bradshaw alongside her three close friends Samantha Jones (played by Kim Cattrall), Miranda Hobbs (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte York-Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis). The four women “navigate careers, friendship, and romance against the backdrop of New York City,” Bustle writes. Relatively simple enough, right? Parker pointed in particular to the series finale, “An American Girl in Paris,” where Carrie moves to the city for love, leaving New York City, her friends, and her trusted computer behind. “When Carrie went to Paris and left her computer, for the first time Carrie wasn’t telling the story,” Parker said. “She left her computer, which was the conduit [through] which the audiences know about Charlotte, Miranda, and Samanda. Sometimes I’m like, ‘hmmm,’ just to mess with myself.”

Per Bustle, this theory actually “popped up on Reddit about a decade ago, where many fans agreed that the women might only exist in Carrie’s mind,” the outlet writes. Now that all six of the show’s seasons are on Netflix, this theory might require a rewatch from a completely different interpretation…

Sarah Jessica Parker and Carrie Bradshaw have a few things in common—mainly, that they both know how to choose the precise shoes, party dress, and makeup for every occasion. For proof, look no further than Sarah Jessica Parker's latest appearance at the London after party for her play, Plaza Suite.

Not only did Parker arrive in a gorgeous Jenny Packham dress with classic black pumps, but she also put an elevated spin on a smoky eye. Parker upped the ante on the typical moody shadow look by having her makeup artist pop a bit of gold sparkle on the center of her lid for extra shimmer.

The rest of Parker's beauty look was both simple and glamorous, featuring light foundation coverage and filled-in eyebrows. To add an extra shine to her look, she opted for a lip gloss. The Sex in the City actress styled her hair in loose curls, parting it down the middle.

Parker walked the red carpet with her husband, Matthew Broderick, who co-stars in the play. Broderick kept his attire casual yet cool with a pinstripe suit, matching dress shirt, and tie. They posed for several pictures with the production's director, John Benjamin Hickey.

It’s the tutu you know and love: the iconic pink piece Carrie Bradshaw wears as the opening credits roll on every episode of Sex and the City. The tiered tutu that Sarah Jessica Parker wore as Carrie cost a miniscule $5 in 1997, bought, of course, before it had fame and fanfare surrounding it. The skirt went up for auction recently—and sold for more than 10,000 times its original price.

Sex and the City stylist and costume designer Patricia Field found the tutu—as well as four others identical to it—in a $5 bin while shopping in New York City’s Garment District 27 years ago. Field liked it for the show’s opening credits, because it wasn’t tied to a specific year, like the 1998 Marc Jacobs runway dress that almost made the cut.

“I showed it to Sarah Jessica, and she loved it,” Field said on the skirt’s certificate of authenticity. “She felt the idea, even though some people on the show didn’t get it right away. We ended up shooting three outfit options for the opening, but this was by far the most original concept.”

Julien’s Auctions—which sold the piece—estimated it would sell for between $8,000 to $12,000, but they majorly lowballed its worth to Sex and the City aficionados. The tulle skirt sold after 24 bids for an eye-popping $52,000, a price 10,400 times greater than its original $5 cost. 

Field wrote in her 2023 memoir, Pat in the City, that the tutu encapsulated what was special about the hit HBO show. “The tutu-style skirt was whimsical, adventurous, and unexpected—kind of like this show,” she wrote. She also recalled telling the show’s creator Darren Star “If this show’s a hit, the opening will be memorable and stay fresh.”

If you’ll remember, Field bought five tutus in the $5 bin, done so because (as any Sex and the City viewer knows) Carrie gets splashed by a bus in the credits, and they wanted to have more than one tutu on hand. Parker revealed in February 2022 that she still has one of them. “A lot of people claim they have the tutu,” she said. “I think Pat [Field] has one, Michael Patrick [King, who directed and wrote many of the show’s episodes] has one. We just used one…Where is it, who’s got it? I’ve got it.”

Well, now, someone paid $52,000 to join this exclusive tutu-owning club.

By the way, the tutu wasn’t the only article of clothing from the show sold at auction recently. Carrie’s John Galliano for Christian Dior newsprint silk chiffon strapless gown (which she wears in season three’s episode called “Natasha”) also went up for auction, ultimately selling for $11,430.

Now there’s a happy ending if there ever was one—though we (spoiler alert!) don’t yet know the fate of Carrie and Aiden as season two of And Just Like That… ends, we do know that Ms. Bradshaw’s real-life counterpart, Sarah Jessica Parker, has adopted her character’s cat, named Shoe on the show, multiple outlets report.

Entertainment Weekly reports that, per SJP’s Instagram, it has been confirmed that Parker, her husband Matthew Broderick, and their three children are the new family of the kitten, although his real name is Lotus. The cat—from the Connecticut Humane Society—officially joined the Parker-Broderick household back in April. “He joins Rémy and Smila who we adopted in May 2022,” Parker captioned a carousel of photos of the family’s new addition. “If he looks familiar, that’s because he is.”

Parker’s AJLT costar Kristin Davis commented “Love [him] so much,” and Jessica Seinfeld called the family of five an “A+ Cat Family.” 

And Lotus has an ongoing gig, it seems—he and SJP are set to reprise their roles as Shoe and Carrie, respectively, in the forthcoming And Just Like That… season three. “We are thrilled to spend more time in the Sex and the City universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors,” the show’s executive producer Michael Patrick King said, per People. “And Just Like That…here comes season three.”

Sarah Jessica Parker has some pretty strong convictions about beauty—but not in the way you might think. The Sex in the City actress is adamant about not giving peace of mind to the societal construct. “I don’t feel like I really have a relationship with beauty. It’s not something I spend a lot of time thinking about,” she exclusively tells Marie Claire. “In my life, I naturally have a decent amount of vanity—and ego—attached to that vanity, but I don’t have a huge amount of interest in devoting a lot of time to an exterior reflection. I don’t care enough to make big changes. I don’t care enough to invest a huge amount of my time.” 

You won’t find her getting Botox or spending hours in the bathroom layering on creams and serums that claim to be fountains of youth in a bottle. She’s standing at her vanity for as little time humanly possible—enough to layer on three products. Not four, not five, and certainly not 12. She’d rather dedicate her time to reading a book (when time allows), catching up on the news, or enjoying a solitary subway ride. Rise & Shine

My morning depends on whether I'm shooting or on stage or doing a movie or a television series or working in the theater. If I'm working on a television series, for instance, I'm up at like 3:30 in the morning every single day—and I don't go home until 7:30 at night. Those are really long days. If I'm required to be on set, I get up, I shower, I wash my hair, shave my legs if I have to. I use the Gillette men’s razor and the Gillette Men’s Foaming Shaving Cream. I order in bulk because everyone in the house uses it. 

Then I’ll go downstairs and grab my jade roller that I’ve had for a hundred years. I keep it in the fridge. I’ll get some coffee with full milk and sugar. That’s right. You heard it: Full milk and sugar. 

Morning Maintenance

I pop my jade roller back in the fridge, head back upstairs, get my face wet, and do my skincare. I’m not somebody who is going to do five steps, seven steps, or nine steps. I’m not doing it. I’m somebody who is going to give you three steps—that’s it. Over a year ago RoC sent me so many products I didn’t even know where to begin. Luckily, they sent really smart, clear, concise, efficient breakdowns of each product. I found my little trifecta that works really well for me daytime and nighttime.

Signature Look 

I don’t wear foundation—I don’t even own it. I might have some concealers somewhere, but I typically don’t use them during the day. I prefer not to have anything on except for an eye. I have some old Laura Mercier Caviar eye pencils that I’ve had forever. I have some old Perscriptives eye pencils that I stocked up on before the company shuttered. I also have some Guerlain mascara—I bought like 40 before it got discontinued. I also have some really beautiful Charlotte Tilbury shades that work really with the Laura Mercier pencils. I also love lip gloss. I have an Hourglass one; I have a Pat McGrath one that’s sparkly and almost translucent. I always have it in every bag. 

Fitness Fix 

I live in New York and I walk everywhere. I'm always running around the set and working. We live in a house with a bunch of stairs so it’s up and down, up and down all day long. It's not unusual to hit 10,000 steps by one or two just from living. Over spring break though I found this machine called the TechnoGym. It’s unbelievable and I really love it. 

Self-Care Ritual 

If anything, I’m reading a book for 15 minutes. Even 15 minutes is a big deal for most working mothers in this country who are sometimes working two and three jobs with absolutely no familial support, no community support, perhaps not even a partner. Even 15 minutes reading a book is such a privilege to even carve that out. If I find that time, it’s a wonderful miracle, but I’m in a position to find it. I don’t like to talk about self care days because I don’t think they’re fair to the millions and millions of women who are working in this country and globally. I think the concept of self-care makes people feel terrible and lousy and isolated that they can’t afford access or even dream of self care. Nobody wants to hear that some well to do, well-paid actress is having a self care day. I find it tone deaf. So if

I'm not loading a dishwasher or unloading it or trying to get a stain out of somebody's outfit, I’ll read. I think that's a real privilege to have that kind of time. I've only recently had it since my kids are independent of me. 

Cheap-But-Chic

I go into family-owned businesses and pharmacies. What’s really great about some of these smaller businesses is—and this is the way they’ve been running forever—if they don’t have something, you can ask them for it. It’s their goal to meet their consumer’s needs, especially the locals who have patronizing them for 25/30 years. At my local pharmacy there’s this really amazing thing called Black Currant Castiles and everyone in my family loves it. When I bring them home, it’s a big deal for everyone. 

Beauty Icon

I see beautiful people on the subway and they blow my mind. I'm inspired by them. My mom, who was beautiful and industrious and smart and made our clothes and made her clothes, inspired me. I see women walking down the street all the time that I think are incredible. I'm not inclined to call people icons because I'm not sure I understand the meaning anymore—it’s a word we toss around a lot. But,  I do think that there are a lot of women and people on the streets that are pretty spectacular.

Backup Career 

I've been working since I was eight, so it's sort of really hard to know any other skills I have. I always dreamed of being a conductor because I grew up going to the symphony. When I was really little, I lived in Cincinnati and we had this incredible symphony orchestra called the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. The conductor was this man named Thomas Shippers, and he was incredible. I was always interested in that because it seemed like such an unusual career. And then there's this gorgeous chaos that accompanies it, you know? There's been a lot of conductors I've really admired. 

P.M. Routine 

Nighttime for us typically goes like this: I walk in, I turn the air conditioning on, which I know is a real luxury. But I try to get the room cool. Then I start the diffuser every single night and I go take off my jewelry. I put my hair up in a clip like everybody else across the globe. I put a headband in —and all my headbands are from sweatshirts that I cut off. They’re all over the house. I wash my face with whatever I have around—hand soap, shampoo, anything. Then I use my RoC products. 

Lights Out 

Before bed is normally when I’ll catch up. I’ll listen to a podcast or some global news. Then I’ll read or watch TV or learn my lines. 

Sarah Jessica Parker is a legend, and after several decades in the spotlight, she continues to be an inspiration for women everywhere.

As part of a campaign with French skincare brand RoC, the actress spoke to Vogue Paris about her thoughts on beauty, confidence and aging, and—unsurprisingly—she had so many insights to share. Take note!

Asked about her attitude to aging, Parker replied, "I don't really think about my age, I don't see it as something to worry about.

"Well, I don't know if it's denial or that I just don't want to face reality! [Laughs.]

"I don't see the point of trying to suspend time. Of course, I do care about my appearance from time to time and I do want to look presentable when it's appropriate. But in any case, I really can't do much about what people think of my appearance.

"How do I feel when I wear a dress? That's what matters. I dress in a way that makes me feel good and I hope that it's also interesting for people."

The And Just Like That... actress also expressed frustration over the reactions she gets to her "wrinkles or white hair" as a woman, versus the utter lack of reaction men get for the same thing. "I just really can't be the person that others expect me to be," she explained.

Parker is also grateful for the lessons she's learned in her 57 years.

"I can't say I feel better in my body, I used to be able to spend two hours on a set, and my knees and feet wouldn't hurt," she revealed.

"But in my head, I absolutely feel 100 percent better. With time, you accumulate all this experience, knowledge, and information, you make mistakes, and you learn. The more you learn, the better you know how to react and deal with challenges, problems, or disappointments."

So well said.

Initially designed as an ode to the inherently sophisticated style of Parisian women, the Fendi baguette was intended to be carried like a baguette bought from the boulangerie—directly under the arm. 

While today the bag that's synonymous with the Italian fashion house has amassed a cult-like following amongst the fashion set, it was created in 1997 by Silvia Venturini Fendi, the granddaughter of the Fendi founders. But not without thanks to one of pop culture's most iconic faces of the early aughts, Sarah Jessica Parker, whose purple sequined baguette was a mainstay accessory for her Sex and the City character, Carrie Bradshaw. "To me, Fendi is about legacy, tradition, quality, creativity, and whimsy," says Parker. "[Fendi's baguette] can reflect everyone's personality." 

In celebration of the bag's quarter-life anniversary, Parker, in collaboration with Fendi, has just launched a limited-edition baguette collection with a few twists on the iconic style. "After 25 years, the baguette's shape is timeless. It's been so popular for its ability to touch on modernity but [without] being afraid of change. It doesn't bend to trend and feels both modern and classic," says Parker. "It was an honor to work with Silvia Venturini Fendi and the Fendi Studio on this project."

Starting today, December 15, the collection of Fendi baguettes in collaboration with Sarah Jessica Parker will be available in four different colorways— just in time for the holidays. "I have never seen so many buckle options in my life, and I've never seen so many beautiful colors in one place. I cannot believe what Fendi can do," the actress says. 

In a script for Sex and the City reboot ...And Just Like That, leaked in May 2021, Carrie Bradshaw seemed to reveal that husband Mr. Big had cheated on her—perhaps even with several women. But new photos of Sarah Jessica Parker on set for the series show the actress wearing a wedding band, as noted by the Daily Mail. Does this mean that this new infidelity didn't spell the end for TV's most love-hated couple?

In the leaked script, quoted by The Cut, Bradshaw asks her friends, "I was doing well, wasn’t I doing well? Before this?" to which they enthusiastically acquiesce. The protagonist continues, "I mean, I was doing the podcast, I was washing my hair. Yes, I wasn’t eating or sleeping, but at least I felt good about my marriage. Now I’m just one of the wives he was taking care of?"

Of course, Big and Carrie survived a spell of cheating in Sex and the City 2, when Parker's character kissed her ex Aidan, and Big eventually forgave her. It stands to reason, then, that she might not leave her husband when he cheats back—although extramarital kissing probably isn't totally comparable to the idea that Big has several "wives."

We'll just have to wait to find out what exactly happens between the on-and-off couple. ...And Just Like That, which was announced on Jan. 10, will air on HBO Max, though the release date has yet to be announced. Filming for the show began in July.

Sarah Jessica Parker is hard at work on And Just Like That..., HBO Max's upcoming Sex and the City revival.

The 56-year-old actress has been sharing updates about the new series on Instagram. On Friday, she took to social media to share two new behind-the-scenes pictures from the set of the show—one from the first table read for the new series and another of her posing alongside her Sex and the City co-stars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis.

"1st Table Read," she captioned the first post, which included a photo of her spot at the table read, complete with her name plate, copy of the script and a mask to comply with ongoing coronavirus pandemic precautions. "@justlikethatmax Got here to work way too early. Nerves all a wonderful jumble. X, SJ."

The next picture from the set was extra special for fans—a snap of SJP posing alongside Nixon and Davis, both of whom are also returning to star in the HBO Max revival series.

Update, May 20, 2021: Are those children we smell? Likely, because Hocus Pocus 2 is officially underway. Sarah Jessica Parker took to Instagram on Thursday to reveal that the beloved 1993 film was finally getting its long-awaited sequel. "Yep. I'm ready. To run. Amok, amok, amok, amok," she posted, referring to one of her most memorable lines in the movie. The actress also revealed that the movie would arrive in Fall 2022 on Disney+.

Parker's original co-stars Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy also shared the film poster to their respective social media feeds, confirming that the wicked trio would all be reprising their roles as the Sanderson sisters for the occasion.

The movie, per People, revolves around "three young women who accidentally bring back the Sanderson Sisters to modern day Salem and must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking havoc on the world." It will begin filming this fall.

Original post, 5/29/2020: I don't want to encourage you to get your hopes up too high, because Hollywood has an awful habit of nurturing your pop culture dreams and expectations before popping them like a balloon on a whim...but it really does sound like a Hocus Pocus sequel is going to happen. There's already a writer, Jen D’Angelo, and a director, Adam Shankman, on board, as Variety reports; what's more, all three Sanderson sisters—Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy—are reportedly up for reprising their roles. In a new interview with Bruce Bozz on Sirius XM, Parker said a sequel "would be a very, very fun idea," adding, "We'll see what the future holds." So...is it fair to assume that what the future holds is a Hocus Pocus sequel? 

Parker told Bozz Thursday that she, Najimy, and Midler were all "very hospitable to the idea" of a sequel, as Us Weekly reports. "I think for a long time, people were talking about it as if people were moving forward with it in a real way but we were unaware of it," she continued. "I think now we’ve gotten to the point where we all, like, agreed publicly to the right people, [saying], 'Yes! That would be a very, very fun idea.' So, we’ll see. We’ll see what the future holds."

Last October, Midler told Entertainment Tonight, "Oh my goodness me. Oh I hope they get to me before I'm a corpse," adding, "We wanna fly again. I hope Disney+ is a big success and I hope we get to do it, because [Winifred] is of course one of my favorite characters." She wouldn't confirm her involvement in the project, but commented, "I can't wait to read the script. We're gonna see what happens."

Najimy, also speaking to Entertainment Tonight, said, "Sarah and Bette and I all have a million projects and things that we're into, so I don't know if they're gonna offer us [roles]. I don't know if the worlds are going to collide so that we could all three do it at the same time." She continued, "I'm happy that it's happening, because the fans are really rabid and they really want it," adding, "If we're not all available to star in it, I think it would be so great to do a cameo. I think that'd be really fun."

The account, most well-known for its incredible takedown of Carrie's once-boyfriend Aiden, posted on Wednesday about Carrie's mismatched Christian Louboutins—she wore one pink heel and one teal heel—in a scene from season three titled "Escape from New York" (you can watch it here). The post ignited fan speculation about the reasoning behind this look, and then Sarah Jessica Parker herself finally—finally—cleared the air.

SJP wrote: "Here is the official answer and I'm sure approved by the great and legendary @patriciafield. We had 2 pairs of what I believe are @louboutinworld scrappy sandals. Pat and I chose to do 1 of each. Perhaps because both were so delicious in color and seemed in harmony with the dress..."

Shout out to Sarah Jessica Parker, who just singlehandedly rescued us all from the misery of Blue Monday with some very happy news. SJP has revealed to her five million followers on Instagram that, nine years after the credits rolled for Sex and the City 2, Carrie Bradshaw will make an unexpected return. While wearing tulle, obviously.

The teaser video, shared with fans of the show over the weekend, features Parker reviving her role as Carrie, as she struts down the streets of New York City in what’s undoubtedly a recreation of the iconic Sex and the City intro, complete with the theme music. Although it’s only a few seconds long, the sight of Carrie’s signature style is enough to get any SATC fan excited. Madonna-inspired white lace heels, embellished gloves, a green tulle skirt, gold lamé—it’s all there.

While details and explanations are still under wraps, SJP did say that the brief return of Carrie is all for a good cause. “My old friend,” the actress wrote for a caption. “She is making a brief reappearance. Partnering with a great brand and supporting a cause we all care about. More to come. X, SJ.”

The video also features the hashtag #PourItForward, which gives away approximately nothing, although a few super sleuth fans have speculated that it may tie in with the Stella Artois Water.org work, co-founded by Matt Damon, which funds clean, safe drinking water across the world.

Even the A-listers are excited about this one. Amongst a sea of fans freaking the eff out, Andy Cohen and Katherine Schwarzenegger were both in Parker’s comments section, with Cohen writing "I <3 CB" and Schwarzenegger commenting "omg omg omg.”

Seeing as Sex and the City 3 is looking about as likely as me ever owning a pair of Manolos, this reappearance from Carrie Bradshaw may have to be enough to keep fans happy (for now). While the third movie was a distinct possibility at one point, the feud between Kim Cattrall and SJP has thrown a major spanner in the works since.

Ah well, back to the boxset until this is all explained a little more.

Update 4/24: There's still no fight.

In a new interview with Vulture, Sarah Jessica Parker would like to remind you that "there is no catfight" with Kim Cattrall and never has been.

"I have never uttered an unkind, unsupportive, unfriendly word, so I would love to redefine it. I also want to remind everybody that there were four women on the set and I spent equal time with all of them, so this was not a set with two women who didn’t get along. I’ve always held Kim’s work in high regard and always appreciative of her contributions. If she chooses not to do the third movie, there’s not a lot I can do to change her mind and we must respect it. That’s the only thing I’ve ever said about it, you know?

Pause. If she chooses not to do the third movie...so, is there still hope that there may be one without her?

She continues, "The three of us have shared our disappointment that we’re not making that movie, not just on our behalf but our crew, but also just the people that have been vocal about wanting to see it. But we still live in a free country where people get to make choices and sometimes the answer is 'no,' and the only way to respond for me is to respect that. So whether we choose to revisit it at another time and reimagine that story—that’s something Michael and I just haven’t talked about yet, that doesn’t mean we won’t, but we haven’t at this time."

"But, no, there is no catfight, there never has been a catfight. I’ve never fought with someone publicly in my life, nor would I. And I spent time with all of the women on the set...We spent 10, 12 years of our life doing something that I really loved and I feel privileged to be part of and I don’t want this to eclipse it or change its experience for that audience that was so good to us for so long."

Original story 2/14: If you're one of the many heartbroken Sex and the City fans who simply can't get over the ongoing feud between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall, SJP has another message for you: There was never a fight. In a recent interview with People, the SATC star opens up about the reported feud between the actors:

“I never talked about it, except [to say] that some of us were disappointed [about the movie not happening], says Parker. “But I never responded to the conversation Kim had with Piers Morgan, where she said things that were really hurtful about me. We had this experience and it was amazing, and nothing will ever be like it. We had a connection with an audience, and we had a connection with the city and with this crew, and we got to tell these crazy stories with each other. So I don’t want to mess with that. I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing that part. So there was no fight; it was completely fabricated, because I actually never responded. And I won’t, because she needed to say what she needed to say, and that is her privilege.”

Rumors of a feud between the friends sparked when Cattrall, 61, insisted her and her castmates didn't get along after her decision not to participate in Sex and the City 3. Over the past few months, Cattrall has revealed the tension that has been reportedly going on for years between the co-stars.

To further prove there wasn't a fight (likely after she gave the interview above), a few days ago SJP, 52, reached out to Cattrall following the death of her brother. Cattrall responded by posting on her Instagram, "I don't need your love or support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker."

During a recent interview on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, SJP said she was "heartbroken" by Cattrall's continuous statements that they were never friends. Here's hoping the former co-stars can mend their relationship soon.

2018 has already seen a lot of Sex and the City 3 drama between Kim Cattrall and her former co-stars (who were definitely not friends, just colleagues, apparently). And now, Sarah Jessica Parker has weighed in on Cynthia Nixon's run for Governor of New York, and her initial statement is a bit strange.

Charlotte York herself, Kristin Davis, fully supports Nixon's campaign, writing on Instagram, "@cynthiaenixon is stepping up to run for Governor of NY. I am thrilled to support her and I know that she cares deeply about the issues facing all of us. I’m so proud of her and I know she will work tirelessly to create change for all who need representation."

And even Cattrall, despite her differences with the cast, appeared to support Nixon's new role, by tweeting, "I support & respect any former colleague’s right to make their own career choices."

However, Parker initially told Page Six, "Cynthia has been my friend and colleague since we were little girls. I look forward to talking to her about her New York state gubernatorial bid."

But on Thursday, Parker shared a message of wholehearted support on Instagram, endorsing her "sister on and off screen" in her run:

The former Sex and the City star announced that she was running for governor of New York earlier in March, when she posted an emotive campaign video. Of her run, Nixon said:

"New York is my home. I've never lived anywhere else. When I grew up here, it was just my mom and me in a fifth-floor walk-up....We are now the most unequal state in the entire country with both incredible wealth and extreme poverty....I've never wanted to live anywhere else, but something has to change.

In case you somehow missed it (unlikely unless you don't have an internet connection), Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall are in a very weird and tense public feud. And now Cynthia Nixon has low-key weighed in.

But first, some context: While this particular feud goes back years, its most recent chapter started when Cattrall told Piers Morgan that Sarah Jessica Parker "could have been nicer" during their time on Sex and the City. The situation escalated when SJP reached out to her co-star following the death of her brother, and Cattrall responded, "You are not my family. You are not my friend."

So yeah, things aren't great. And while the rest of the Sex and the City stars have mostly stayed out of it, Nixon made it pretty clear where her loyalties lie thanks to this Instagram post:

No, it's not a clear statement, but it seems like a pretty clear message. 👀.

Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen has weighed in on the public feud between his close friend Sarah Jessica Parker and her Sex and the City co-star Kim Cattrall—who recently accused Parker of "exploiting" the death of her brother.

"I thought it was fake," Cohen said on SiriusXM's Radio Andy. "I was like, 'There’s no way Kim Cattrall has posted this on her Instagram.' This is a women who is in the middle of grieving the loss of her brother, which is tragic and sad."

As a reminder, in a Instagram post on February 10, Cattrall wrote, "My Mom asked me today 'When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?' Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your 'nice girl' persona."

"She accused SJP of exploiting a tragedy," Andy continued. "She follows Kim on Instagram, Kim posted about her brother dying, and she expressed her condolences on the post… She posted it in a comment! I would not call that 'exploiting a tragedy.' What was she supposed to do? Say something bad? I mean, I don’t understand."

He also noted: "I also don’t like it that people are characterizing this as a catfight. There’s only one person fighting here… I even kind of, admittedly, didn’t try to stir it up on Watch What Happens Live when Sarah was on, but I was like, 'What do you think?' Sarah only said the nicest things about her…. It’s a catfight of one from where I see it."

Sarah Jessica Parker had previously told Andy Cohen she was "heartbroken" over her relationship with Kim Cattrall.

Kim Cattrall is not here for Sarah Jessica Parker's constant digs about Sex and the City 3, and her insistence on publicly discussing Cattrall's private life.

A refresher—in October 2017, Cattrall revealed that she would not be returning for another Sex and the City sequel. In an interview with Piers Morgan she said she'd never been friends with her co-stars, and that she, "never asked for any money. I never asked for any projects. To be thought of as some kind of diva is absolutely ridiculous."

The rest of the cast publicly spoke about their disappointment, and Parker was, in particular, extremely vocal about her feelings. In fact, Carrie Bradshaw herself hasn't let Cattrall's decision go lightly, and in the past two weeks alone she has spoken at length about the Sex and the City franchise without Samantha Jones.

On Watch What Happens Live... on January 31, 2018, Parker revealed that she was "heartbroken" by Cattrall's assumption that she was never friends with the rest of the cast. And just this week, while promoting her HBO show Divorce at the Paley Center for Media, Parker revealed that a sequel wasn't completely out of the question, without Cattrall (via E! News).

The timing of Parker's latest Sex and the City 3 revival news feels more than a little insensitive to Kim Cattrall—the star's brother was tragically found dead five days ago.

And this week, Parker made several public comments regarding the death of Cattrall's brother, explaining that she'd sent her condolences, in interviews with Extra and Entertainment Tonight, all whilst fuelling gossip about still making a Sex and the City sequel. Us Weekly notes that Parker also commented on Cattrall's Instagram announcing her brother's death with the message, "Dearest Kim, my love and condolences to you and yours and Godspeed to your beloved brother. Xx."

But Cattrall has responded to Parker's latest comments with another Instagram post:

Along with her tagged message to Parker, Cattrall wrote,

"My Mom asked me today 'When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?' Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I'm writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your 'nice girl' persona."

Cattrall no longer wants to discuss her decision to leave the Sex and the City franchise, and she also doesn't want other people discussing her grief in interviews anymore, which seems fair enough.

Because all good things come to an end/are cruelly and unusually taken from us, Sex and the City finally appears to be over. And honestly, we didn't necessarily *want* another movie anyway—but it would have been nice to have that option. Regardless, recent drama between Kim Cattrall and her cast members is making that pretty impossible. (Reminder: Cattrall said she was never friends with any of them.)

When asked about how she felt about the actress' musings during Watch What Happens Live, Sarah Jessica Parker didn't mince words:

"Just heartbroken," she told Andy Cohen. "I mean that whole week, you and I spoke about it endlessly, because I was just, I don’t know, I found it very upsetting because that’s not the way I recall our experience. It’s sad, but I always think that what ties us together is this singular experience. It was a professional experience but it became personal because it was years and years of our lives, so I hope that that sort of eclipses anything that’s been recently spoken. That many years spent doing something so special that people had a connection with it is such a privilege."

Andy Cohen also went ahead and asked if they'd kill Samantha off in the event of another film (umm...WHAT?) to which SJP replied: "I think once everybody has thoroughly experienced the grieving process then Michael Patrick [King] can go back and sort of ponder what he might want to do and how he might want to proceed. That’s the most clear answer I’ve given yet!"

In other news, she also seemed down with Sharon Stone replacing Cattrall, which IDK, sure, fine, but also maybe we can just lay this franchise to bed.

Update (1/19): Kim Cattrall responded via Twitter to Sarah Jessica Parker teasing a third Sex and the City movie. Parker had joked about Ellen DeGeneres playing Samantha, since Cattrall is seemingly out of the picture now. And Cattrall had a few suggestions of her own for who should play Samantha—including Oprah, Sofía Vergara, and Tiffany Haddish. She tweeted:

It seems like Cattrall would be okay with the girls reuniting to film a third movie without her.

Original: Just when we thought Sex and the City 3 was *definitely* a no-go, Sarah Jessica Parker revealed that the movie IS still possible—even without Kim Cattrall. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Parker said the movie could still happen, countering her previous comments about SATC being over.

When Ellen asked if they could do the movie without Samantha, Parker said, “I think there’s a period of grief, a mourning process."

She even joked about Ellen playing the character for the movie. “Perhaps we’ll be able to consider...say for instance, you playing Samantha," Parker said.

And while Parker is definitely holding out for another SATC (and so are we!) she's still not 100% sure it'll happen.

“I don’t know. Last week, I said ‘No.’ Reality is a brutal companion,” she told DeGeneres. “I feel like maybe, I don’t know. I have to make up an answer, because I have absolutely no idea. You know, who knows. Perhaps, we’ll find a way. Right now, I don’t know.”

There's been a lot of drama surrounding the idea of making a third movie, and people think Cattrall is to blame. There were rumors that the movie was being put on hold because Cattrall had certain "demands."

And as Cattrall put it on Twitter:

In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Parker said how hard it's been to deal with all the drama. “The thing I continue to learn is how painful it can still be, after all these years. When things aren’t true, especially when it is a personal attack about your character, the way you’ve chosen to conduct yourself specifically. I’m stunned by how deeply it still cuts,” she said.

"I just kept saying, ‘This was an experience I loved. I love those women. We shared this experience. It was a privilege.’"

Sadly, this isn't an official confirmation from Parker. But we'll be waiting around with a cosmo in hand, hoping that day comes soon.

The E! Golden Globes red carpet was extremely powerful this year thanks to the #TimesUp movement, and it led to several stars making the brave-if-slightly-awkward decision to stand up for former E! host Catt Sadler—while on the E! red carpet.

Not only did Debra Messing tell Giuliana Rancic that she was "shocked" to hear that E! "doesn't believe in paying their female co-hosts the same as their male co-hosts," actresses Eva Longoria, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Laura Dern stood up against the network.

"We’re here for Time’s Up, we support gender equity and equal pay, and we hope that E! follows that lead with Catt as well," said while being interviewed by long-time E! host Ryan Seacrest. "We stand with you Catt."

Laura Dern also confronted Seacrest, saying, "We need the powers that be, and all the industries, and all the networks, and E!, to help us with closing this pay gender gap."

Meanwhile, Sarah Jessica Parker said "I know it's affected your network" while speaking to Seacrest, and Twitter was here for it:
