I’m a bit of a lip product snob. To be fair, I have hundreds, and over my years as a beauty professional, I’ve learned to separate the gems from the noise—a skill that matters when there’s a new launch practically every day. What's In the DRMTLGY Needle-Less 4D Volume Lip Treatment?

The lip treatment’s 4D Volumizing Technology is what makes the formula visibly plump, define, smooth, and hydrate the lips. Two major components of this technology are the use of a bioactive peptide complex as well as a second-skin hydration mesh. “The peptide complex includes five different peptides across the formula, and what is interesting is that they are not all there to do the same job,” Mee says. “Together, they are designed to support collagen, hyaluronic acid, and other components that help give lips their smooth, supported, and cushioned appearance. That gives us a much broader approach to fuller-looking lips than relying on a single peptide or targeting just one pathway.”

​In addition to the complex, the hydration mesh pulls its weight too thanks to a few key ingredients. “We used a specialized form of hyaluronic acid that is designed to cling particularly well to the lip surface, helping it hold onto water and reinforce that smooth, cushioned feel,” Mee says. “That is important not only for comfort, but also because well-hydrated lips look smoother, less lined, and naturally fuller.” Tack on a lipid and botanical complex with pomegranate flower bioactives as well as a sesame-derived technology, with the former helping strengthen the lip barrier to keep moisture from escaping, and the latter supporting the natural cushioning that helps give lips their fullness, and you have a lip-loving ecosystem that supports visibly plump lips from a full, 360-degree approach.

In short, I am deeply obsessed with how this formula feels. It also has a sheer pink tint that may show up a little more on very fair skin tones. How Do I Use Cryo Tools?

Nothing gets us more excited than talking about a not-so-little tweakment or a nip-tuck procedure. In the spirit of transparency, Marie Claire’s aesthetics column, Life in Plastic, delivers a first-hand peek into what goes on behind the doctor’s door.

Jenny Hutt is a 55-year-old woman living in NYC. She received a facelift and CO2 laser resurfacing with Dr. Marc Zimbler. This is her story, as told to Marie Claire, edited for length and clarity.

I went through a really rough several years. I lost the radio show that I’d had for two decades. My father passed away the following week—and that impacted my finances dramatically. Then, 12 months later, my marriage imploded; my husband and I are still separated. I had to sell my house. I changed careers and started practicing law again. My daughter, who at the time was 24, had a heart attack. She’s totally fine now and just an incredible warrior. But it was a lot—all at once. And it started showing on my face.

I felt like I couldn’t focus on anything—my clients, my family, people in my life—because I felt so insecure. I always held my Zoom camera at an angle. Not a day went by when I wasn’t using a filter. I even downloaded that FaceTune app, which is the worst concept in the history of apps because it changes everything so slightly that you become used to looking at this altered version of yourself. I can admit it wasn’t my finest moment, but it was better than actually showing myself online because the insecurity was just so all-consuming. I couldn’t look at myself anymore. Honestly, I didn’t recognize myself. It seemed like all the stress and the trauma I had gone through were living on my face.

I started ruminating about doing something to my face—and ruminating and ruminating and ruminating. I didn’t know how I was going to pay for a facelift; they’ve gotten so ridiculously expensive, but at the same time, you don’t want to f—ck around with your face. No way. I eventually came across Dr. Marc Zimbler when I was doing my research, and I heard that his pricing was more reasonable than most of the other doctors, so I scheduled an appointment.

Now, the icing on the cake. Right before my consultation, I went to this Thrive Causemetics event, and there was this beautiful woman sitting across from me. Her neck was perfect. Mind you, my neck was like the straw that broke the camel’s back when it came to wanting a facelift. It was the opposite of the icing on the cake. This woman was just stunning. She looked older than me—but not. So obviously I ask her how she has this perfect neck, and it turns out she had a facelift with Dr. Zimbler a few months prior.

At this point, I talked to my kids and decided to take whatever savings I had and put it right into my face. I really looked at it as an investment.

The Consultation

If you look at my before pictures, I had Trump’s neck. I really needed a facelift. I knew I really needed it because my best friend, who is a dermatologist, started telling me Botox wasn’t going to help me anymore. This was a year before I actually went through with it, mind you. I went into the consultation thinking he would be my hero. He kind of was, but he was also very clear on what I did need and what I didn’t. He actually was very clear that he wasn’t going to pull me as much as I thought I wanted him to because he prioritizes natural results and doesn’t ever want you to look like a freak. “Making a facelift look natural and not overdone is an art form that takes years of experience and aesthetic judgment,” says Dr. Zimbler.

The Day of My Facelift Surgery

I had nerves. I didn’t know what I was going to look like—all I knew was that I wanted to be alive and heal. Other than that, I thought very little about it, and I didn’t want anything to stop me from doing it.

My Facelift Recovery

When I first saw myself with all the bandages and stuff, I was like, "Oh my God, I'm so gorgeous. I look magnificent.” My friends still laugh about it—I looked like a freaking alien, like Jocelyn Wildenstein. It was bad, but I think I was just so happy that I went through with it.

I didn't have any pain. I had this incredible nurse, too. Dr. Zimbler’s office set me up with their incredible surgical coordinator, who then connected me with my nurse, Natasha, who stayed with me at the hotel while I recovered those first couple of days. I was like, “Tell me what to do and I’ll do it.” She set me up, told me what to buy, what medicines to have, and what healing stuff to have. I made bins. “Nursing is really essential for the first 48 hours after surgery, and at a minimum, 24 hours. They dramatically help with the recovery process,” says Dr. Zimbler. “Any patient I've ever had who questioned why I required the nurse was so incredibly grateful they had one after the process was over. Typically, nurses ice the patient continuously, check the drains (if the patient requires them), assist with anti-bruising regimen and IV infusions, and most importantly, monitor for post-op bleeding/hematomas.”

Dr. Zimbler shows up the next day to check in on me in the hotel room. He makes the house calls; he gives you his cell. He really is on it and available, so I felt very taken care of. There was some discomfort but no pain at all. I went to a wedding within three and a half weeks.

The other thing is that it’s a real surgery. I feel like because it’s an elective surgery, sometimes people might not think it’s real. It’s heavy-duty surgery. I had one side heal more slowly than the other side. I wasn’t exactly symmetrical—it took time. I was really tired, too for a couple of months. You can't go into a facelift looking for perfection. You have to go into a facelift knowing you’ll be better off than where you started. My bar was so low because I was so down, but it ended up exceeding my wildest expectations.

My Final Thoughts On Getting a Facelift

I was so much darker in spirit than I am now. That’s not my default. My default is happy. I have optimism in my belly. And there came a point where it was gone, and my fire was out. I couldn’t get away from how much I disliked seeing myself in the mirror. I know that sounds incredibly vain and awful, but it’s also human nature. I’ve been through so much, and there was this part of me that knew this was the first step to getting back to myself and figuring out who I am. When you have a huge identity shift—like your marital status, your daughter going through something crazy, your job—you stop recognizing yourself.

When you add that to your physical face being unrecognizable, it just becomes too much to bear. I’m proud of myself for actually going through with it. I knew I could do it and be ok. It’s not a matter of life and death, but it felt like that for me. And from the moment I did it onward—it was just the best decision I could have ever made.

The removal of all that excess skin feels like the removal of the trauma. It’s symbolic. I needed to do something to make myself feel better. It might be taking a trip somewhere for two months, buying a dress, buying a bag you’ve been eyeing. For me, it was plastic surgery. It empowered me like a new briefcase. Sometimes you work from the outside in, and it can make all the difference. It really did. There’s a lightness to me that didn’t exist before. It changed my life.

There are probably calmer times to talk about wellness than in the middle of a US Open comeback, but that’s exactly why I wanted to know what was keeping Sloane Stephens grounded. She’s back in New York after an injury kept her out of last year’s tournament, and her return already has some momentum: an opening-round win, her first at the US Open since 2022. There was more wrapped up in the moment than tennis, too. A group of students from the Sloane Stephens Foundation—which supports underserved students through tennis and education—flew in from Compton to watch her win, just one day after she was honored with the USTA’s Serving Up Dreams Award for the foundation’s work.

A week that full makes the whole wellness conversation feel a little different. It’s not just what you can buy or book—it can also be the things that make all of it feel meaningful. For Stephens, that starts with giving herself a little grace. Therapy has long been part of her life, and she talks a lot about being patient with herself, especially as a professional athlete dealing with the constant ups and downs that come with the job.

Then, of course, there’s the fun stuff. Stephens’s day-to-day routine lands somewhere between pro athlete and beauty girl. She’s been using vibration plates since she was about 15, long before they became trendy, and she’s currently plotting a sauna big enough for friends. Skincare is another story: bring up Dr. Diamond’s Metacine, and she has opinions about the luxury skincare routine she says changed her complexion. Some days, though, wellness looks a lot simpler: a cold shower or 10 minutes listening to her favorite podcast. Ahead, Stephens shares how she’s Doing Well in the middle of a pretty major comeback.

I think my vibration plate and my red light in the morning, but I don’t even know if that’s really woo-woo anymore. Everyone’s doing it now. I’ve been using vibration plates since I was probably 15 years old because we use them to warm up when we train, so I’ve been doing that for a really long time. But it didn’t really become a wellness thing for me until I started doing it in the mornings with my infrared light. That changed the game.

Right now, I love Jay Shetty, and I love Bible widgets. Even if you’re not super religious and you’re just spiritual, they really help you tap back in. I think sometimes when you get a little lost or confused in your world, the Bible widgets are really good reminders.

I don’t really have a morning one, but I think my one in general is, ‘It’s not if, it’s when.’

My vibration plate and red light are probably my highest-priced items. I’m also getting an in-home sauna, and my mom and I were trying to decide whether to get a two-seater so we can both use it or a three-seater so we can have little parties. I have an outdoor one currently, and I have a cold plunge, so I do back and forth for recovery, but that’s more sports recovery. The infrared sauna is more of a wellness thing—something I can do with my mom or friends.

There’s also a retinol from Dr. Diamond‘s Metacine that has changed my face completely. It is so good. It’s so expensive—so expensive. I’ve told five of my friends about this brand, and everyone’s buying it. They’re like, ‘How are you convincing us to buy $800 products?’ And I’m like, ‘Bro, I’m telling you, it works.’ It’s that good. There’s a three-step routine that they gave to me, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to try it,’ because everyone says it works so well. And I’m telling you, it’s changed my face. Honestly, once you start it, you can’t go back.

Honestly, cold water. I always take a cold shower in the morning just to wake up.

A lot of journaling, a lot of therapy, and just being patient with myself. I think as a professional athlete, there are always a lot of things happening and a lot of adversity, so I’m trying to be very patient with myself. I’ve definitely gotten better at prioritizing it as I’ve gotten older, but my mom’s a psychologist, so mental health has always been part of my life.

I don’t know if I would tell my younger self anything. I think I would just create better routines that worked for me and that I could actually stick to, then adapt them as I got older.

2026 has been a big year for sunscreen in America. Back in June, the FDA approved the first new SPF filter, called bemitrizinol, in 27 years. Today, the first-ever sunscreen featuring the ingredient—Ultra Violette's Unblock Screen SPF 50 Breakout-Friendly SkinScreen—is available for purchase.

The appeal of this new filter, which has been used for years across Europe, Australia, and Asia, is undeniable—especially for those with sensitive skin. Not only is the formula itself incredibly elegant and white-cast-free, but this particular SPF is also loaded with Bix’Activ, a proprietary ingredient that helps control excess oil and blur pores, and Pentavitin, a plant-based extract that provides 72 hours of deep hydration. On the texture front, it’s more elegant than most. Expect a whipped texture that excels at blurring. It dries instantly, with a matte finish, and won’t settle into pores or cause acne breakouts later on.

What Is BEMT?

BEMT, short for Bemotrizinol, is the newest FDA-approved filter in the United States. Its legal arrival is notable for many reasons—primarily because it provides both UVA (aging) and UVB (burning) protection from the sun's rays. Up until now, only two filters, zinc and avobenzone, provided protection against both. “UVB rays are what cause sunburns and play a big role in the development of skin cancer,” board-certified dermatologist Dara Spearman, MD, previously told Marie Claire. “UVA rays go deeper into the skin and are mostly responsible for premature aging. Think wrinkles and sunspots.”

The new filter also has lower levels of skin irritation, making it ideal for reactive and acne-prone skin types. It's effective at lower concentrations, too, meaning there’s extra room for formulators to squeeze in the good stuff, like soothing actives and moisturizing agents. As with most sunscreens today, skincare ingredients play a huge role in a product's elegance and wear, particularly under makeup.

When it comes to choosing the best sunscreen for mature skin, Dr. Garshick says it’s simple: “ultimately the best sunscreen is the one that you will use and that you like.” However, “for those with sensitive skin, mineral sunscreen may be preferred.”

Dr. Palep strongly agrees. “The best sunscreen is the one you will wear daily, whether it is chemical or mineral.” That said, Dr. Palep thinks that “mineral sunscreen has a slight edge over chemical sunscreens for mature skin, as the UV filters sit on the skin’s surface and reflect UV rays away.” When it comes to chemical SPFs, they use UV filters that transform the sun’s rays into heat within the skin. “Since mature skin is more fragile than younger skin, my recommendation is to avoid having any UV rays absorbed into the skin,” she adds.

What Ingredients Should I Look for in a Sunscreen for Mature Skin?

First and foremost, Dr. Garshick recommends looking for broad-spectrum sunscreens with SPF 30 or higher. In terms of ingredients, she explains that “mineral filters, including zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, can be considered for those with sensitive skin.” Other ingredients to look for include hyaluronic acid and glycerin for hydration, niacinamide to calm the skin and improve overall skin tone, vitamin E to protect against free-radical damage, and peptides to help prevent fine lines.

According to Dr. Palep, “Zinc oxide is a strong UVA/UVB mineral sunscreen filter that also has anti-inflammatory properties, which are ideal for mature skin.” You also get the benefit of a broad-spectrum sunscreen, plus redness reduction and soothing, she explains. Additionally, “a tinted sunscreen is also great for mature skin as the pigment offers an additional layer of protection.”

I’ve tried almost all the acne-fighting ingredients and prescriptions over the past two decades. I’ve used the benzoyl peroxide and sulfur face washes. I’ve tried salicylic acid toners and glycolic acid peels. I’ve even spent years on Spironolactone and just about every prescription medication—from Aczone to Clindamycin—you can imagine. While treating acne will always require some personalization and, normally, the guidance of a fabulous board-certified dermatologist, there are two over-the-counter ingredients that can help set you up for the clearest skin. Enter: azelaic acid, an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial agent, and retinol, a vitamin A derivative that can help speed up cell turnover, a.k.a. one of the buzziest skincare combinations taking over your TikTok FYP.

“They complement each other because they address different aspects of acne-prone skin,” says board-certified dermatologist Lian Mack, MD. “Retinol keeps pores from becoming clogged and promotes skin renewal, while azelaic acid reduces inflammation and acne-causing bacterial activity, while also addressing pigmentation.” When you use both together, you’re able to target not just acne but clogged pores, inflammation, redness, and texture. Basically, it is a win all around.

That all being said, figuring out the best way to incorporate the ingredients into your skincare routine—like what strength to use and how to layer them—can be a little tricky. That’s where some help from the pros comes in. Here, Dr. Mack, along with board-certified dermatologist Ella Glaser, MD, are sharing their tips for maximizing the benefits of retinol and azelaic acid.

What Does Azelaic Acid Do for Your Skin?

Azelaic acid is such a powerhouse ingredient. I personally love it for managing redness and perioral dermatitis (it’s incredibly anti-inflammatory), but it’s such a versatile molecule. “By nature, it’s anti-inflammatory, anti-pigment-producing, and anti-bacterial,” says Dr. Mack. It’s particularly effective at targeting C. Acnes, one of the main driving forces for acne, explains Dr. Glaser.

“Azelaic acid inhibits tyrosinase, an enzyme involved in the production of melanin, which is what makes pigment in the skin. Not only is this ingredient great for reducing acne, but it also helps reduce the stubborn hyperpigmentation and redness that is often left behind from acne,” she adds. The multitude of benefits it offers, paired with its tolerability (even super sensitive skin types like yours truly can use it without issue) makes it a common ingredient to use for a handful of dermatologic disorders, from rosacea and acne to pigmentary conditions like post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and melasma.

What Does Retinol Do for Your Skin?

While we typically talk about retinol in the anti-aging sense—and don’t get me wrong, it’s incredibly effective at reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles—it’s actually one of the best tools in your acne-fighting arsenal. One of the main jobs of retinol is to speed up cell turnover. When that happens, there’s less sebum, a decrease in oil products, and therefore a smaller chance of dead skin cells getting clogged up in pores and turning into acne. This all being said, it’s important to call out that there are different strengths of retinol. “Retinoids, such as tretinoin, are the prescription-strength version and retinols are the over-the-counter version,” explains Dr. Glaser. “Unlike the prescription retinoids, retinols must be converted by the skin to the more active form, this makes it generally less potent and often more tolerable.”

If you're more on the sensitive side of the spectrum, using a retinol or retinyl esters (the gentlest form of a retinoid) is a safer better; however, if your skin can tolerate it, retinaldehyde or a prescription retinoid, like tretinoin, will give you better results, faster.

Is Azelaic Acid or Retinol Better for Acne?

Neither is necessarily better; they just work on different concerns. “For acne specifically, retinoids have a stronger role in preventing clogged pores and treating acne formation, so retinoids are often a cornerstone of acne treatment,” says Dr. Mack. “Azelaic acid is particularly attractive if you have inflamed acne, redness, sensitive skin, or dark marks left behind after breakouts.”

Can I Use Retinol and Azelaic Acid Together?

You can absolutely use retinol and azelaic acid together; just make sure you’re providing your skin with adequate hydration—you don’t want to end up with irritation. “The limiting factor isn't that the ingredients are incompatible, it's whether your skin can tolerate the combination because both ingredients can be irritating and drying,” explains Dr. Glaser. “For patients with sensitive skin, I would not introduce both simultaneously; allow the skin to adjust to one ingredient first before adding the second.”

If you do work your way to using both ingredients, consider using azelaic acid in your morning routine and retinol in your nighttime routine. If you’re going to use both at night, Dr. Glaser recommends putting on the azelaic acid formula first. Once you work up to dual usage, expect the combination to be particularly effective, especially if you have acne paired with post-acne dark marks or irritation, or clogged pores and an uneven texture, says Dr. Mack.

What Concentration of Retinol and Azelaic Acid Should I Use?

As a rule of thumb, azelaic acid is well-tolerated, and you can typically start with around 15 percent or a prescription-strength option. Retinoids, on the other hand, are more irritating. “Consider starting at a lower concentration, like .1 percent to .3 percent, and increase as tolerated,” says Dr. Mack. She also points out that azelaic acid is pregnancy-safe while retinol is not. But using the combination together is one of the most effective options to minimize acne breakouts, banish dark spots, and smooth the skin for a brighter, radiant complexion.

We’ve all been there. ​“Underarms live in a perfect storm of friction, moisture, hair removal, and product exposure,” Mona Gohara, MD, board-certified dermatologist and clinical professor at Yale, tells me. “Shaving, ingrown hairs, tight clothing, and irritating deodorants can trigger inflammation, which may leave pigment behind, especially in deeper skin tones. Why Do Armpits Become Dark?

As Dr. Gohara mentioned, there are numerous reasons for armpit darkness. However, there are also a few health-related signs to watch out for. “If the skin becomes noticeably darker, thicker, or velvety, it may be acanthosis nigricans, which can be associated with insulin resistance or other metabolic changes,” she says. “That is a reason to speak with your doctor about checking blood sugar, cholesterol, and triglycerides.” If you notice these changes in the area, don’t freak out. Dr. Gohara says to “think of it as your skin sending up a small check-engine light,” which essentially means that your body is signaling that it may need more support to function optimally. Additionally, the American Academy of Dermatology recommends that you tell your doctor about these changes.

​Hyperpigmentation can also be a result of hormonal influences on the skin, UV light exposure, and inflammation, something Dr. Zeichner says to be cognizant of. “In the underarm area, hair removal from shaving or waxing can lead to irritation and inflammation that triggers your producing cells to go into overdrive,” he says. Even low-grade inflammation can lead to significant pigmentation over time, so if you want to address underarm darkness, keep an eye on your routine: the clothing you wear, the products you use, and your hair removal methods can be among the most mundane contributors to the issue.

How Do I Get Rid of Dark Armpits?

Of course, there are lasers and slightly more intensive treatments that you can use to treat armpit darkness. However, there are also at-home options if a trip to the dermatologist isn’t in your near future. In short, the same basic treatment recommendations should be used to treat pigmentation on the face versus below the neck.

​“First, you want to make sure that you are protecting the skin from inflammation and UV damage,” Dr. Zeichner says. “Moisturize and apply sunscreen to any sun-exposed areas. Additionally, you can apply a moisturizer after hair removal to maintain skin hydration.”

​To get a little further into the science, when it comes to hyperpigmentation, Dr. Zeichner breaks down the applicable ingredients into three categories:

• First, you want to block the production of abnormal pigmentation
• Second, you want to increase turnover to help the skin shed pigmented cells more quickly.
• Finally, you want to reduce Inflammation and protect the skin.

​To block the production of abnormal pigmentation, look for ingredients like vitamin C. “Antioxidants not only neutralize radical damage, but also block the enzymes responsible for excess melanin,” Dr. Zeichner says.

For enhanced cell turnover, look for products containing retinol or glycolic acid. (Editor’s note: remember, Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A that helps to improve skin tone, texture, and pigmentation. It’s also something that you may already have in your skincare routine. Bring it below the neck!) "This helps the skin eliminate cells that are loaded with melanin,” says Dr. Zeichner.

​Lastly, give your ‘pits' some TLC, just like you would with your face. “To calm any inflammation, opt for ingredients like niacinamide,” Dr. Zeichner says. “This is a derivative of vitamin B3 commonly used in skin care to soothe the skin and even skin tone."

​On the more practical everyday front, make sure to reduce friction and inflammation wherever possible. “Wear breathable, less restrictive clothing, avoid aggressive scrubbing, and do not repeatedly shave over irritated skin,” Dr. Gohara says. When you’re shaving, soften the hair with warm water first, use a moisturizing shaving gel, shave in the direction of hair growth, and use a clean, sharp razor with light pressure. “One or two careful passes are plenty,” Dr. Goahra says. “If shaving consistently causes bumps, consider trimming or professional laser hair removal with someone experienced in treating your skin tone.”

Choose a face wash tailored to your skin type and concerns, considering that you might need to change up your wash throughout the year based on weather and lifestyle. Dr. Mraz recommends a gentle cleanser for the morning when you've got less to remove and something stronger and more strategic for the nighttime to cleanse, treat, and prep the skin for skincare before sleep. Keep in mind that nighttime is when skin naturally works to repair and regenerate healthy collagen, elastin, and skin cells, so you want your skin clean so that your potent ingredients can absorb and work properly.

If you’re not sure which of the skin categories you fall into, there’s an easy beauty hack to find out. “First, wash your face with a gentle cleanser—don’t apply anything to the skin. Wait 30 minutes and then see how your skin feels,” explains Dr. Desia. “If your skin feels dry and tight your skin type is most likely dry. If your skin appears shiny or greasy, then you are oily. For a beauty editor, I am shockingly tame when it comes to my skincare routine. Don’t get me wrong, I use all the exosomes, growth factors, and peptides. How Is Dr. Diamond’s Metacine LipLift Different Than a Lip Plumper?

If you’re even remotely familiar with the brand, then you’ve heard about its cult-like following, which boast celeb fans including Kim Kardashian, Kate Hudson, and Chrissy Teigen. A major reason all these Big Names are on board is that the products genuinely work. Money has been invested in clinical trials. Development focuses on actual innovation—not just smart marketing.

This particular product is powered by a proprietary peptide called Hyaluron Peptide‐6 BioFill, which is essentially a chain of six peptides (little messengers that tell your skin to work better, faster, stronger), hyaluronic acid, and lipids. While this peptide compound is the main star, there are also a few other extracts—including undaria pinnatifida extract and zanthoxylum bungeanum fruit extract—that are responsible for smoothing cracked texture, enhancing natural lip color (kind of like a pH gloss), and improving fullness.

The key differentiator between this product and a gloss or plumper is that this is a genuine treatment. It’s meant to deliver long-term results and should be viewed as skincare for the lips, that, over time, will have compounding results. By the four-week mark, you should start to notice that your lips are fuller and more contoured.

Is Dr. Diamond’s Metacine LipLift Worth It?

This is an investment—it’s $120 for a little tube. But the second I started thinking about this as luxury skincare specifically targeting my lips—as opposed to a Rhode-like gloss—is when I came around to it. Because even though I do love this texture, which is more like a super thin lip serum than a gloss, and the finish, which turns my lips a slightly pinker version of themselves, the real benefits start to show with continued use.

The most immediate benefit I noticed was hydration. My lips are constantly chapped and cracked, but this product did such a phenomenal job at creating lasting moisture. I don’t have to reapply it 20 times a day to experience the benefits either—one swipe in the morning lasts me well through lunch. In that vein, it also leaves behind a juicier, plumper appearance.

But it’s the long-term benefits that make restocking worthwhile. Over the course of 12ish weeks, lips become plumped up and the border between your lips and the skin are more defined—permanently. The idea is similar to Restylane—it prompts the production of your body’s natural collagen—but there’s no need for an injection. While I’m not at the full three-month mark (yet!), I’ve already started to notice that my lip lines are bit more diffused—especially when I have a fresh layer of the product on–and that they generally appear fuller.

Y’all, I went a little bananas over the summer, treating myself the way I truly deserve with new fashion and beauty goodies, but now my budget needs to stand front and center. Obviously, the heavy hitters of any effective skin routine, like SPF and retinol, are included, as well as some if you know, you know formulas that everyone from your bestie to your dermatologist has stocked in their bathroom cabinets. Sure, sometimes the branding isn’t as enticing as your favorite Instagram-worthy brands, but that doesn’t take away from a product's effectiveness. I feel like I finally cracked the code to my perfect skincare routine. While I did realize that I have pretty oily skin after years of trying to convince myself that I was more on the combination side of the spectrum, I have found that the real culprit isn’t so much the presence of oil, but what it causes. For me, that’s plenty of texture courtesy of closed comedones.

​Even if you're not familiar with the term, you've likely encountered one (or several) over the years. “Closed comedones are clogged pores that look like small, flesh-colored bumps, often across the forehead, cheeks, or chin,” board-certified dermatologist Mona Gohara, MD, tells me. “Unlike blackheads, the pore opening remains covered by a thin layer of skin, trapping oil and dead skin cells underneath. Think of them as tiny traffic jams beneath the skin’s surface.”

​These “traffic jams” have been wreaking havoc on my skin for years now, but just as soon as I understood what was happening, I also realized that practically no one talks about this skin condition. So as a good little beauty journalist, I’ve been experimenting with the products in my routine. I’ve been swapping exfoliants, serums, and moisturizers like a game of spoons, and I’ve finally landed on a regimen that has my skin looking the best it has in years. How Do I Treat Closed Comedones?

While not every skincare routine is the same (nor should they be), there are some general best steps when it comes to treating closed comedones. After using a gentle cleanser on the skin (Dr. Gohara says that your face should not feel squeaky or tight afterward), go in with your exfoliators. “BHAs clean inside the pore because they are oil-soluble, meaning they can move through oil and help loosen the buildup,” she says. Salicylic acid is the gold standard here, but you can also keep an eye out for ingredients like lipo-hydroxy acid or willow bark extract, the latter of which is a natural, plant-based source of salicin, which turns into salicylic acid on the skin.

​Also imperative in your routine? Retinol. “Retinoids help normalize skin-cell turnover so dead cells are less likely to collect and clog the pore,” Dr. Gohara says. “They can treat existing closed comedones and help prevent new ones from forming.”

​Once your skin is exfoliated and moisturized (look for ingredients like ceramides, glycerin, or hyaluronic acid in your creams), the next crucial step in the routine is sunscreen. Specifically, one that is suited for blemish-prone skin. Dr. Gihara’s favorite? The EltaMD UV Clear Blemish-Prone & Oil Balancing SPF 50. “It provides daily UV protection in a formula designed for blemish-prone skin,” she says. “This formula also has niacinamide, which helps support the barrier and improve the appearance of post-acne discoloration.”

In fact, hot girls know that 90 percent of being, well, a hot girl, is mindset; that enviable mentality and confidence that you carry with you from day to night. But for that remaining 10 percent? Well, that's the stuff we need to know, because who doesn't want to hone their hot factor with a few buzzy additions to her beauty routine? It's why I had to chat with Cyklar founder, OG creator, and certified hot girl Claudia Sulewski.

Even if you're not chronically online, or completely and utterly obsessed with her body care brand like the rest of the Marie Claire team, you might have spotted Sulewski on the most recent Forbes 30 Under 30 list, or flashing a rather sizable diamond on her ring finger (she's currently engaged to musician and producer FINNEAS) in a few shots on Instagram. A stranger to the spotlight she is not, and to my delight, she is equally well-versed in the beauty space. I mean, how could she not be when she's been creating YouTube beauty tutorials for the last 17 years, and launched an award-winning line of body care and fragrance products that now sit on the shelves at Sephora?

"I remember having a very extensive nail polish collection," she tells me over Zoom. "By the time I was 10 years old, I was painting my nails every single color. And I started making YouTube videos at 13." The founder adds that by that point, she had fully infiltrated her mother's makeup collection. "I'd steal my mom's makeup and create these makeup tutorials and eye tutorials and post them online. I was so serious at 13... but now I view beauty as an enhancement or an extension of myself. I feel like we're in this fun phase of just embracing our natural beauty and doing these little tips and tricks that make you just feel a little bit hotter, but still you."

What are the moments in your life when you feel the hottest, naturally?

It really is so simple. When I'm tan, not from the sun, but when I've self-tanned. When my skin is breathing and hydrated—it's not covered in a ton of makeup. And when my hair is done, I really think when you walk out the door and you've done something to your hair to just make it look a little bit more presentable, you don't need to touch your face. That's my philosophy.

When do you feel like you need a bit of a hotness boost?

If I was out the night before and had some alcohol and need to de-puff essentially, or when I don't get eight hours of sleep. I mean, sleep is so important. If you had a late night or if you have to wake up super early, a few more steps [get] tacked onto my skincare routine when I've lost my sleep.

What in-office treatments help you feel like the hottest version of yourself?

I've finally started seeing an esthetician on a schedule. I really don't do too many [beauty] things out of the house, but [I'm] seeing an esthetician at least once a month right now. We do a lot of peels, a lot of spot treatment lasering, which I didn't know was a thing. I though you kind of have to just get lasers across your whole face, but she'll just zap certain areas for dark spots, which makes it a way shorter downtime. Also dermaplaning I started doing for the first time this year, and it lets your makeup and everything on your face just sit so much better. So I'm doing all of those things when my esthetician feels that we need them. I go to Lisa Karadjian.

Also nails, that's a huge one. If I have a good set of Builder Gel nails, I'm walking differently. I am talking differently. I'm feeling so hot and so confident. Depending on what I'm getting ready for, if it is a big life moment or a red carpet, [I see] Jenny Jenny's or Nails by Zola, they're so good. Or I just go to the nail salon that's five minutes away from my house. But I love just having a natural, long almond nail. It just does so much.

But that's kind of it. I've joked in the past that my Notes app is just a graveyard of recommendations for my friends like, here's the lymphatic drainage person that you need to go to. Here's where you need to start going to for this. It's overwhelming to know what you should be doing and outsourcing.

What does your at-home hot girl routine consist of, from products to practices?

Obviously having my own body care brand, the lineup is extensive. So I really, really enjoy luxuriating in my body care routine. I'd love to call out the Cyklar Self-Tanning Milky Essence. It's just such an easy self-tanner that we developed that allows you to just maintain your tan in between spray tans, or if you got a little bit of sun. It's just really easy, so that's always a confidence hot boost for me personally. I'm sauna-ing a lot. Strength training. My answer to almost everything these days is strength training. Longevity! It makes you feel so good, so sexy. It gives you energy. I love to elevate my legs at nighttime. I'm always thinking about circulation, blood flow. I have the vibrating plate. So certainly all of those things, we're embracing all of them.

For skin, I love at-home devices. Shark Beauty, the CryoGlow mask is so good. I've found that as a hard shell mask, it sits on my face lighter than any other one. And also the cooling underneath for your eyes is so nice for the morning time. I'll often habit stack with that mask. This morning upstairs, I had the mask on in the dark and I was doing calisthenics with my arms and just getting a little workout in, a little six-minute arm circuit. We're doing a lot of habit stacking.

Also, I really believe in a high quality peptide serum. There's a Medik8 one, Advanced Peptides MP. I've been using it all year. Obviously sunscreen every day. The Shark Beauty DePuffi. On those nights where I didn't get a lot of sleep or I was out the night before and want to chisel, contour my face, that cooling setting feels so good to use in the morning.

I try to stay as low maintenance with my hair as possible. I love a heatless curl if I know I don't have a bunch of time in the morning and just want to run out and have some sort of texture going on with my hair. If I'm styling it, Shark FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System. They have these auto-wrap curlers that hold your curl for so, so long and have it look blown out for the next four days. And it also just helps with heat damage.

Right now I've been loving Chanel Gardenia and actually mixing that with [Cyklar] Sex Musk, which is one of our perfume oils. I mean, I like to layer that with anything. I love a very light white floral, and for the summertime it makes me feel very feminine and ethereal.

What’s a mantra or words of wisdom you swear by to feel confident, hot, and in-charge?

I would say that just reminding myself that confidence really is built on the promises you keep for yourself. More often than not, the days where I am feeling so confident about myself and feeling like that hot bitch is crossing off my to-do list. Giving myself a plan of what I need to do and what I'm going to do and getting it done and getting it done earlier than I thought I would. I really think so much of it comes down to that, just walking the walk and doing what you're telling yourself you're going to do. And obviously you can have beauty routines and products and treatments in the mix of that, but it's really just feeling like you respect your relationship with yourself. You can rely on yourself, you're consistent. Those daily habits, it's cliché to say that, but it's so true. That's what matters the most.

Do you think that purposefulness in the way that you attack your day is the secret to radiating hotness at any age?

A million percent. Because you trust yourself more. Obviously you can alter yourself and try to fix all these things on the outside, but in terms of how you walk into a conversation with someone, how you walk into a room, I think all of that stems from the inside and the work that you do with yourself, whatever it is, whatever makes you feel good. You know what I mean?

If reading makes you feel smart and empowered, keep reading, keep picking up that book. Or if it's being super communicative and in tune with your emotions, meditating, journaling. I'm oftentimes when I'm wearing the LED mask, I'll journal. These little things just help give you this self-identity. I think it's so important to feel connected to your unique self, if that makes sense.

Sometimes buying the same foundation that everyone else is buying is not going to do that. It's not going to fill that gap. I mean, we're getting cheesy, but it's just true. That's what it is.

Is it just me, or do you feel a certain pull to the cosmetics section whenever you make a Walmart run? They do this in a couple of different ways. “Signal peptides, such as palmitoyl tripeptide-1 and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, are among the most well-studied and help stimulate collagen production, improving skin firmness and softening the appearance of fine lines over time,” Dr. McDonald explains. “Carrier peptides, including copper peptides, help deliver essential trace elements involved in wound healing and collagen synthesis.”

And the best part? Just about everyone can use them, regardless of their skin type or the rest of their routine. “Many peptides are formulated to also help strengthen the skin barrier, which makes these serums a great option for people with dry or sensitive skin,” says Dr. Marmur; and, since they “also tend to be gentle on the skin…they work well alongside other skincare ingredients without causing irritation.”

That said, there is a caveat. A fantastic topical is still a topical, and thus can only do so much. “I always emphasize to my patients that it's important to have realistic expectations,” Dr. McDonald says. “Peptides aren't an instant fix, and no topical ingredient can erase wrinkles overnight. The benefits accumulate gradually with consistent use.”

What Peptide Should I Use on My Skin?

Honestly: Whichever one has an ingredients list that meets your needs. “Most people shouldn't spend too much time deciding between one peptide and another. I recommend instead looking at the overall formula of a specific product,” says Dr. Marmur. “If you have dry skin, look for peptide serums that contain hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid. If you're focused on anti-aging products, I recommend choosing formulas that combine peptides and ingredients like niacinamide. Small batch brands usually have finer, less harsh ingredients.”

Since they are such agreeable chaps, “the main reason to avoid a particular peptide product isn't the peptides themselves, but rather another ingredient in the formula,” says Dr. McDonald. “For example, someone with very sensitive skin may react to added fragrance, essential oils, or certain preservatives. That's why I encourage patients to choose fragrance-free products whenever possible, especially if they have eczema, rosacea, or sensitive skin.”

If you made it here, I can assume a few things are true. Number one: you’re in the market for some skin-firming and/or tightening product to add to your beauty routine. Number two: you’ve also realized that there are about 1,000 different serums, moisturizers, and toners that all seem to claim the same ability to snatch your skin. But treating skin laxity—which can increase with age, menopause, or weight loss—involves a bit of nuance. Broad-spectrum SPF, retinol, and vitamin C are foundational to help protect and renew your skin, but there’s a crop of buzzy ingredients that can really take firming to the next level. “We’re moving beyond simply treating the visible signs of aging and starting to look at how skin functions and communicates at the cellular level,” says esthetician Angela Caglia. “That’s where regenerative skincare becomes so exciting.”

Peptides, growth factors, and exosomes have been dominating the regenerative skincare discourse this past year, and for good reason. They’ve all been shown to support renewal and collagen. And yet, it’s important not to group them altogether. “They are all quite different technologies,” says cosmetic chemist Krupa Koestline.

There’s no right or wrong way to add these ingredients to your skincare routine—they’re all powerhouses in their own right. But understanding how they work, what they’re best at (Firming! Plumping! Collagen Boosting!) and the differences in the research and data behind them might influence your choice. To get the full breakdown on what ingredients to look for if you’re chasing firmer skin, keep reading. Krupa, Caglia, along with board-certified dermatologist Elizabeth Houshmand, MD, share their unfiltered thoughts on which ingredients are best for firmer skin, ahead.

What Are Peptides?

“Peptides are short chains of amino acids, and there are many different types used in skincare,” says Koestline. “[They] are targeting signaling molecules, and their activity depends on the specific peptide being used." She notes that it's important not to talk about peptides as though they are one ingredient because their function varies so widely. There are three primary types: signal peptides (for collagen production), carrier peptides (for repair and regeneration), and neurotransmitter-modulating peptides (to minimize fine lines and wrinkles). I’ve done a very thorough breakdown right here, if you really want to get into it.

The benefits of peptides really range from boosting hydration and skin barrier strength to reducing the appearance of wrinkles and firming skin. The latter benefit is most heavily associated with neurotransmitter-modulating peptides, including oligopeptides, soy-derived peptides, and decarboxylated carnosine HCl.

What Are Growth Factors?

Growth factors are naturally occuring in the body, but like collagen, decrease with age. That reduction can cause more signs of skin aging, like fine lines, wrinkles, or poor skin texture. Most of the research focuses on wound healing, demonstrating that it has real benefits for collagen production. “Growth factors are signaling proteins involved in cellular communication, repair, and regeneration. In skincare, they're used to support skin renewal and improve visible signs of aging,” explains Dr. Houshmand. Think of them like a carrier pigeon. Once the growth factor makes its way into the skin, it finds the specific receptor and delivers a message: produce more collagen.

While they have huge potential, growth factors are not the easiest ingredients to develop, which often increases the price point. “The formulation challenge is that EGF [epidermal growth factor] is a relatively large and delicate protein. Proteins can be difficult to deliver through an intact skin barrier, and their activity can also be affected by formulation conditions and stability,” says Koestline. “So with EGF, I care quite a bit about how the ingredient is made, stabilized, formulated, and delivered rather than simply seeing EGF on an ingredient story.”

What Are Exosomes?

As Caglia explains, if a growth factor is a message, an exosome is a messenger with multiple pieces of mail. “Exosomes carry different types of biological material, including proteins, lipids, and genetic material such as mRNA and microRNA,” says Koestline. “From a skincare perspective, the interest in exosomes comes from their potential role in cellular communication, tissue repair, inflammation, and regeneration.”

It’s very exciting technology, but exosomes have not been heavily studied to date, and there is little to no regulation. “They’re the category I approach with the most caution,” says Dr. Houshmand. The source matters. “You’ll see technologies associated with human cells, plants, platelets, and other biological sources. The way they’re cultured, collected, purified, characterized, stabilized, and ultimately formulated can also vary tremendously,” says Caglia. Ultimately, these variations impact their efficacy. It’s a bit of an unwieldy space, so if you’re going to use an exosome skincare product, make sure it’s through a brand you trust.

Peptides vs Growth Factors vs Exosomes: Which Is Best for Firmer Skin?

This is where things can get a little confusing. Peptides, epidermal growth factors, and exosomes all claim to do similar things—and using a high-quality product that includes any of them will likely reveal firmer skin. The way they function, though, is different. Peptides are concern-driven and ideal for daily maintenance, while growth factors and exosomes target the way that your skin functions on structural level. How fast does it turn over? How much collagen is it consistently producing?

That said, Dr. Houshmand and Koestline recommend choosing a peptide-rich product if firming is your primary concern. “That is less because exosomes or EGF are not interesting, and more because we have more established topical evidence for certain peptides and have a better understanding of how to formulate and deliver them,” says Koestline. They’re also readily available at a range of price points and well tolerated across different skin types.

Dr. Houshmand points to growth factors as the second most compelling category—there are a handful of well-formulated products with clinical data that contribute toward the growing body of evidence supporting EGF's effectiveness at treating signs of skin aging. Exosomes on the other hand, have incredible promise in skin firming, however, the lack of research and standardization causes concern. Does that mean they're not worthwhile if you're after firmer skin? Not necessarily. But if you're looking for receipts, there aren't as many.

Can I Combine Peptides, Growth Factors, and Exosomes In My Skincare Routine?

Less is more when it comes to regenerative skincare. The basis of your routine, especially if firming is a concern, is to wear sunscreen, use a vitamin C serum, a great moisturizer, and a retinoid at night. From there, consider using one of these ingredients as an addition to your routine, rather than a core necessity. “I don't recommend layering multiple expensive regenerative serums simply to have every trending ingredient on your shelf. A consistent routine with thoughtfully formulated products is more important,” says Dr. Houshmand.

Is Skincare Enough to Firm My Skin?

To be completely honest, skincare’s ability to firm skin depends heavily on how much laxity you’re dealing with. “Skincare can improve skin quality and the appearance of firmness, but it cannot truly lift significantly lax tissue,” says Dr. Houshmand. “More advanced laxity may require a staged approach incorporating treatments such as biostimulators, fillers, neuromodulators, or energy-based devices.” No skincare product, no matter how advanced or innovative, can reverse significant laxity. You can, however, expect better skin quality, increased hydration, and a boost in collagen, all of which will give you more youthful, healthy-looking skin.

If you’re trying to fade dark spots, chances are azelaic acid and niacinamide have both made their way onto your radar—or, more than likely, your FYP. I know they have for me. As someone who deals with breakouts and the angry marks they leave behind, I’ve reached for both ingredients at different points with the same pursuit in mind: clearer, more even-looking skin.

“Both can help with dark spots, but they take slightly different routes to get there,” says board-certified dermatologist Mona Gohara, MD. That’s also what makes choosing between them a little confusing. They overlap just enough to seem interchangeable, even though they don’t actually work in quite the same way.

That distinction matters because “dark spots” is a pretty broad category. The marks left behind after a breakout aren’t necessarily treated the same way as melasma or years of sun damage, and choosing an ingredient based solely on "brightening" claims can only get you so far. Azelaic acid and niacinamide target pigment through different mechanisms, come with slightly different benefits, and, most importantly, have different efficacies depending on what’s behind the discoloration in the first place.

So, which deserves a place in your routine? Ahead, board-certified dermatologists break down azelaic acid versus niacinamide for dark spots, including how each works, which types of discoloration they can help address, and whether you actually need to choose between them at all.

What’s the Difference Between Azelaic Acid and Niacinamide?

For a quick science lesson, everybody's skin contains melanocytes, which are tiny cells that create melanin—the pigment that gives your hair, eyes, and skin their color. When external triggers, such as sun exposure, skin inflammation from injuries or acne, or hormonal shifts, occur, excess melanin can be produced, resulting in increased pigmentation. This leads to dark spots, a catch-all term for different types of skin discoloration. Azelaic acid and niacinamide are two skin-brightening ingredients that target these dark spots, but they do so in different ways.

Dr. Gohara compares pigment production to a factory: Azelaic acid helps to slow down the production line, while niacinamide essentially disrupts the shipping process, so less pigment is transferred to the surrounding skin cells. I find that distinction much more helpful than simply thinking of both as “brightening ingredients.” They can address the same concern, but they’re doing different jobs—which is exactly why one may be a better fit depending on what’s causing your discoloration.

• Azelaic acid

Azelaic acid helps tackle discoloration earlier in the pigment-production process by inhibiting tyrosinase, an enzyme involved in melanin production. It also helps calm inflammation and keep pores clear, which is a particularly useful combination when breakouts are responsible for the marks you’re trying to fade in the first place. And unlike niacinamide, azelaic acid is also available in prescription-strength formulas, though you’ll find lower concentrations in plenty of over-the-counter skincare products.

• Niacinamide

Niacinamide, also known as vitamin B3, works a little differently: It still helps prevent dark spots from forming, but it does so a little later in the process. Once melanin is produced by melanocytes, it’s packaged into tiny structures called melanosomes and transferred to nearby skin cells. That's where niacinamide swoops in: it helps interrupt that transfer, so less pigment makes its way into the surrounding skin cells and contributes to visible discoloration. It also supports the skin barrier and helps calm inflammation, which is why it tends to pop up in everything from dedicated dark spot serums to moisturizers meant for sensitive skin.

Which Is Better for Dark Spots?

Azelaic acid gets my vote in a few key scenarios. Dr. Gohara tends to favor it for post-acne marks because, as she puts it, “you get a nice two-for-one: it addresses both the breakout and the pigment it can leave behind.” It also has good evidence behind it for melasma.

Niacinamide, meanwhile, is the gentler brightener. Board-certified dermatologist Sejal Shah, MD, says it works well for most skin types, including sensitive skin, and can help with uneven tone while supporting the skin barrier. I’d especially look to it if your routine already has a lot going on and you don’t want to pile on another potentially irritating active.

True sun spots are a slightly different story. Neither ingredient is necessarily the star there, according to Dr. Gohara. For more established sun spots, or solar lentigines, ingredients like retinoids or hydroquinone have a more established track record, while in-office treatments like lasers and IPL can target individual spots more directly.

The gist: Azelaic acid tends to make more sense for discoloration tied to inflammation, like post-acne marks, while it can also be used as part of a treatment plan for melasma. Niacinamide, meanwhile, is a good option for more general uneven tone and can be particularly appealing if you want a gentler ingredient that also supports the skin barrier. Sunscreen matters regardless of which camp your discoloration falls into. Trying to fade pigment without daily SPF defeats the purpose.

Can I Use Azelaic Acid and Niacinamide Together?

Good news if you were already mentally rearranging your skincare routine: You don’t necessarily have to pick one. Since azelaic acid and niacinamide approach discoloration differently, they can complement each other nicely.

“I typically recommend applying niacinamide first to support the skin barrier, followed by azelaic acid,” says Dr. Shah. She also points out that there isn’t strong evidence that the order of application meaningfully affects their compatibility or efficacy, so this isn’t a layering rule you need to obsess over. Azelaic acid can go first, too, and there are formulas that combine both.

What I’d pay closer attention to is tolerance. If your routine is already packed with exfoliants or other actives, adding two more treatments at once may not be the smartest experiment. There’s no prize for fitting the most ingredients onto your face before bed, and it can actually backfire resulting in angry, pissed off skin.

How Long Do Azelaic Acid and Niacinamide Take to Work?

“Pigment is a marathon, not a sprint,” says Dr. Gohara, which is unfortunately very accurate if you’ve ever spent weeks inspecting the same post-breakout mark in the mirror like myself. With consistent use, improvement from either ingredient may start to show up in about 4 to 8 weeks, though more meaningful changes often take 8 to 12 weeks or longer. Azelaic acid may have a slight advantage when acne and inflammation are driving the discoloration, because it targets several aspects of the problem at once.

And I know you’ve heard this a million times, but daily sunscreen is part of the deal. Dr. Gohara notes that trying to fade dark spots without protecting your skin from UV exposure is essentially working against yourself.

Are There Any Negatives to Azelaic Acid or Niacinamide?

Gentle doesn’t mean completely irritation-proof. Azelaic acid is more likely of the two to cause some initial stinging, burning, itching, dryness, or redness, particularly when you first introduce it. Niacinamide tends to be easier on skin, though high concentrations can still trigger redness or irritation.

“More is not always better in skincare,” says Dr. Gohara. “I would rather see someone consistently use a well-tolerated formula than chase the highest percentage on the label.”

But percentage chasing isn’t the only way a dark-spot routine can go sideways. Dr. Shah frequently sees people layer too many exfoliants and actives, use their products inconsistently, or skip sunscreen altogether. Another mistake is treating every patch of discoloration the same without first figuring out what caused it. Even an expensive in-office treatment can only do so much if you’re not protecting your results with a consistent at-home routine and daily SPF.
