When Taylor Swift arrived at The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on December 10, her teddy bear Max Mara coat implied she went purse-less. Turns out, a celebrity-beloved bag from Saint Laurent was hiding beneath its comfy-cozy fur.

Swift's first The Late Show With Stephen Colbert appearance since 2021 was a success, as proven by clips with over 640,000 likes on Instagram. After the late-night taping, the pop star traded her velvet David Koma mini for her arrival look. Once again, stylist Joseph Cassell Falconer dressed her in an Agolde bodysuit, a plaid Miu Miu mini skirt, brown Christian Louboutin knee-highs, and the $3,370 jacket. At first, Swifties assumed the coat was the outfit—a claim she tested the evening prior with a 2012-inspired duffle from Louis Vuitton. However, her swift exit from the Ed Sullivan Theater confirmed a Saint Laurent clutch took top billing.

ICYMI, Swift fit only the essentials (i.e. her statement red lipstick) in Saint Laurent's Cassandre Crossbody Bag in the Dark Ruby tone. The rectangular $1,300 silhouette mirrored that of an envelope, topped with the label's yellow gold "YSL" emblem. It wasn't quite as on-the-nose as Blake Lively's red-and-green color combination on Dec. 9. Even so, you can't deny the festive undertone of any red, green, and gold outfit.

Eagle-eyed Swifties may recognize its signature shape from another night out in NYC. Back in Nov. 2023, the green Cassandre joined Swift and Gracie Abrams at Freemans Restaurant. Similar to her latest look, the envelope-style clutch almost went unnoticed behind her double-breasted Gant coat, little white Alaïa dress, and platform Sézane loafers. The Grammy winner's patent emerald shade is no longer shoppable, but Saint Laurent still offers green Cassandres on yellow gold chains.

Like Swift with song titles, Saint Laurent names each piece with intention. The Cassandre was no different. As of right now, there are over 500 styles called Cassandre, after Adolphe Mouron Cassandre, the man who designed the iconic "YSL" logo in 1961. Each interpretation boasts the instantly-recognizable emblem on its front.

Zoë Kravitz, Swift's longtime friend, also owns a four-figure Cassandre, except hers is in black. The compact body and chainlink strap made it the obvious pick for this year's Golden Globe Awards, W Magazine's Best Performances Party, and a Mickey17 premiere. She re-wore it in February to Danielle Haim's birthday party, which Swift sadly had to miss. (Rumor has it, the singer was with Travis Kelce after the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl loss.)

As far as Swifties know, the Cassandre is one of three Saint Laurent bags in Swift's collection, joining 2016's Medium Matelasse, 2020's Kate Monogram Bag, and 2023's Le 5 à 7 tote. So, why the Cassandre? Perhaps she bought it while writing The Tortured Poets Department, which features the song "Cassandra." (The album did drop in April 2024, just six months after she debuted the green Cassandre.)

It might be a stretch, but Sarah Chappelle, the author behind @TaylorSwiftStyled finds the theory legitimate, too. "A part of me can't help but wonder if Taylor felt kinship to a bag that also shared a name with Cassandra, of Greek myth fame who was doomed to utter prophecies that no one would believe," she wrote on Instagram. We know Swift adores a sartorial Easter egg.

Stephen Colbert revealed John Krasinski as People's Sexiest Man Alive for 2024 on The Late Show, with Colbert joking that he was really upset that he's been passed over once again for the honor.

Still, the talk-show host managed to tell the laureate, "congrats to the very sexy John Kra-sexy," showing that he is a deeply gracious loser.

To help him out, Krasinski filmed a sexiness infomercial with Colbert, in which both men were dressed in '80s workout video outfits to present the audience with "six simple steps guaranteed to turn you from a sack of crap to a hunk of beef."

The hilarious steps were:

• Step one: Don't Eat (unhealthy snacks)!
• Step two: Do Eat (water and raw eggs)!
• Step three: Steal Sexy DNA (by cheek-swabbing Chris Evans against his will)

The Quiet Place actor takes over from 2023's Sexiest Man Alive Patrick Dempsey. Chris Evans won in 2022, Paul Rudd in 2021, and Michael B. Jordan in 2020.

Speaking about his victory in a People feature, Krasinski joked that this honor is definitely not going to afford him any special treatment at home when it comes to his wife Emily Blunt. "I think it's going to make me do more household chores," he told the magazine. "After this comes out, she’ll be like, 'All right, that means you’re going to really earn it here at home.'" Fair play to this woman!

Another sexy man featured in People's long-awaited issue is Benny Blanco, record producer, cookbook author, and Mr. Selena Gomez. In case you hadn't had enough advice on how to be sexy from Krasinski, Blanco shared in his interview, "Even if you're terrible at cooking, [your partner will] like it because you did it. Ask your partner what they want to eat. Don't try to cook them what you want to eat. If you don't know how to cook it—learn it." Well noted!

Fans of the royal family are calling on Stephen Colbert to apologize to the Princess of Wales after she announced she was diagnosed with cancer.

On March 13, during an episode of The Late Show, the television host revived a long-standing rumor that Prince William was or is having an affair with royal friend Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley.

"The kingdom has been all aflutter by the seeming disappearance of Kate Middleton," he said at the time. "Well now, internet sleuths are guessing that Kate's absence may be related to her husband and the future King of England, William, having an affair."

At the time, the royal family was under intense public scrutiny after Kensington Palace shared what it claimed to be the first official photograph of the princess following her January abdominal surgery. Numerous major news outlets pulled the photograph from circulation after it was found to be digitally altered, prompting the palace to issue a statement from Middleton, who took responsibility for photoshopping the image.

Now that the princess has revealed she is undergoing chemotherapy to treat an unspecificed type of cancer, fans want Colbert to apologize to her and the royal family for theorizing about her condition.

"Well, a lot of people should feel pretty bad now, starting with Stephen Colbert," one person posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

On Friday, March 22, the Princess of Wales shared an emotional video announcing she had been diagnosed with cancer following her scheduled January surgery and brief hospitalization.

"In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous," she said in the video. "The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment."

The princess asked for "some time, space and privacy" as she continues her chemotherapy treatment.

"My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery," she continued. "At this time, I am also thinking of all those whose lives have been affected by cancer. For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone."

Colbert has yet to publicly respond to calls for him to issue an apology to Middleton and the royal family.

Even Fox News contributor Joe Concha weighed in on the so-called controversy, posting on X: "Let's be clear on this for all the media reporters out there: Your hero Stephen Colbert went on national television and claimed Kate Middleton was the victim of an affair by her husband. No evidence. Nothing. She has cancer. Will you call this out? Of course not."

His tweet was retweeted nearly 2,000 times at the time of publication.

"Where does Kate Middleton go to get her apologies from John Oliver and Stephen Colbert?" another posted on X.

Others are blaming Kensington Palace and its PR strategy for the online speculation regarding Middleton's wellbeing, especially since Prince Charles has also been diagnosed with cancer and made an announcement shortly after he was hospitalized in January as well.

After announcing she is undergoing preventative cancer treatment, it's understood that the Prince and Princess of Wales will not attend Easter service at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle as previously planned.

It's unknown when the public will see Middleton out and about, as she and the royal family have continually asked for peace and privacy as she continues to focus on her health.

Jeff Tweedy apparently wants Dolly Parton fans to hate him forever, given that he was happy enough to say something frankly unacceptable about her music on late night TV—and just days before her birthday (Jan. 19), too. For shame!

The Wilco singer and guitarist appeared on Stephen Colbert's The Late Show to discuss his memoir, World Within a Song: Music That Changed My Life and Life That Changed My Music. In this book, he shared some of his more controversial opinions about music.

"The book would’ve sounded really silly if I didn’t take ownership of some things that aren’t for me, and one of them is 'I Will Always Love You,'" Tweedy told Colbert.

"Did you hear the gasp?" the host asked him, referring to the audience's reaction. "By Dolly Parton. You hate Dolly Parton."

Tweedy defended himself, "No, I love Dolly."

But Colbert was as shocked as all of us and continued, "That’s what you just said. You said Dolly Parton has no talent is what you said, Jeff Tweedy."

The rockstar added, "I love Dolly Parton. All I know is that she wrote 'Jolene' and 'I Will Always Love You' in the same day and I think she should’ve stopped after 'Jolene.'" Yikesssss, man.

To be fair to him, Tweedy helped himself out by adding, "I know it's me. I know I'm wrong." You don't say!!!!!!

Anyway, despite this whole situation being super awkward, I suppose everyone is entitled to their personal opinions. Still, "I Will Always Love You" as performed by Whitney Houston spent 14 weeks as Billboard's Top 100 number one song in 1992, so...

Prince Harry appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Tuesday to promote his memoir Spare, and he was not about to refuse the offer of a stiff drink on such an emotional day.

"You've written this very intimate memoir, which I've read and it's fascinating, it's a very good read by itself," Colbert said while welcoming his guest.

He added, "I know that you yourself are a very private person for being a public figure. You're revealing a lot of things in here. It must be on a certain level kind of nerve-racking to be out there, to publicly and physically represent the book... Would you like a cocktail before we begin?"

Prince Harry leaned in and told Colbert, "Yes please!"

The host then produced a bottle of tequila and began to pour himself and his guest some generous helpings (and not shots of the stuff, as we previously thought). Both men then proceeded to squeeze extra lime into their drink before enjoying it.

This wasn't the only occasion during the TV show that Harry admitted he could use a little liquid courage.

At one point, Colbert asked him, "Can you explain how it is that the Royal Standard got frost nip?" (In Spare, the Duke of Sussex details the time he found himself with a "frostbitten penis," as reported by the Independent.)

Laughing, Harry answered, "How long have you... how long...? Can I have a drink?"

He then finished his sentence: "How long have you been waiting to ask that question? We've taken quite a leap from grief and trauma to my todger."

During the show, the two men notably discussed Harry's late mother Diana as well as his experiences serving in Afghanistan.

The Royal Family as a whole has a pretty fraught relationship with The Crown on Netflix, but Prince Harry has actually watched it—and he has notes, apparently.

The Duke of Sussex appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Tuesday, the day his memoir Spare was released.

Colbert asked the royal a ton of questions across the board, but there was an especially lighthearted moment when he brought up The Crown—which, of course, is a show about Harry's family history.

The duke admitted to watching both older and more recent episodes of the TV show. Asked whether he "fact-checks" it as he watches, Harry mimed licking his fingers and turning the pages of a notebook, i.e. he joked that he does.

He then admitted, laughing, "Yes, I do, actually."

Pointing at Colbert's copy of Spare, the royal drove the following point home: "Which, by the way, another reason why it's so important that history has it right," he said.

During his interview with Tom Bradby on ITV, Prince Harry explained that he wanted people to know his version of the story, so that they wouldn't make assumptions based on incomplete information and the rumor mill.

"But for me, I sit here now, speaking to you, answering the questions that you put to me, and the words and the truth will come from my lips rather than using other people, especially through the tabloid media," he said (via the Daily Mail).

In Spare, Harry didn't hold any of his truth back, either, going into detail about a ton of unexpected events in his life.

Today in "Prince Harry is not holding back, like, at all" news, the Duke of Sussex reportedly took tequila shots while answering Stephen Colbert's questions on The Late Show.

While the interview airs tonight at 11:30 p.m. ET on CBS, people who were at the studios during the taping took videos of the royal with two tequila shots and a plate of limes, which he later took, as reported by the Daily Mail.

According to these sources, Prince Harry was subjected to The Colbert Questionert during his appearance on the TV show. We don't yet know what he was asked or what he answered, but the questions are usually on the sillier side and asked in quick succession.

During a recent edition of the segment with Sandra Bullock, Colbert said, "I really wanna plumb the depths of who the real Sandra Bullock is, and so what we have done here at The Late Show labs, they've come up with 15 questions that have been cryogenically suspended and then unthawed only in the need to actually discover the truth about a guest."

The host then proceeded to ask the actress, "What is the best sandwich?" as well as "What's the scariest animal?" and "Apples or oranges?"

As you see, we will be finding out some preeetty crucial information about the duke here, so ready yourselves.

Jokes aside, Prince Harry has revealed much more than many of us anticipated via his memoir Spare, and the accompanying interviews he has given to promote the book. Among many other things, he admitted to taking cocaine in the past, to eating mushroom chocolates at Courteney Cox' house, and to losing his virginity in a field behind a pub to an "older woman." So...

• Megan Thee Stallion revealed Beyoncé and Jay-Z give her advice, while appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Wednesday.
• "Jay-Z gives the fun advice. Say if I'm having a bad day, he'll be like, 'Megan, girl, you need to be somewhere driving the boat,'" Meg shared. "Beyoncé is like, 'Look, queen, just rise above.' She says it the nicer way."
• Megan also commented on the conservative backlash to "WAP," her single with Cardi B.

When you're an artist of Megan Thee Stallion's calibre, there are very few people accomplished enough to give you advice—so it's a good job she can call up Beyoncé and Jay-Z when she needs guidance. Meg appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Wednesday, and shared the best advice she's received from the reigning monarchs of music.

First, Megan spoke about collaborating on "Savage Remix" with Beyoncé, and just how much that meant to her. "I remember the first time I ever saw Destiny's Child in concert, it was at the rodeo, and it was just amazing. And I remember being a little kid like, 'Wow! I want to do this one day,' she said. "And just being from Houston, you have to know what Beyoncé just means to us. She's like the standard. So, being able to just speak to Beyoncé now, I'm like, 'Girl! Pat on the back.'"

Asked who gives the best advice, Megan said, "I would say Jay-Z gives the fun advice. Say if I'm having a bad day, he'll be like, 'Megan, girl, you need to be somewhere driving the boat. Turn up. Turn up, have a good time.' You know what I'm saying? He gives me like, the more 'hot girl' advice." As for Queen Bey? "Beyoncé is like, 'Look, queen, just rise above,'" Megan said. "She says it the nicer way."

Megan also spoke about the conservative backlash to her record-breaking single with Cardi B, "WAP." After thanking Cardi for inviting her to collaborate on the track, Megan said, "I feel like that was really a little weird. I know the Republicans have been having a bad year, and they probably needed to take their frustration out somewhere."

"But I wanna tell them, 'Thank you for the streams. Because without you, I don't know if we would have been here,'" Megan joked. "But, no, I mean, them people crazy. Why you worried about my WAP?"

• During a recent interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, former President Barack Obama opened up about the toll that running for president took on his marriage. 
• When he first approached Michelle Obama with his plan to run for president, she shot the idea down directly and, even though she eventually "sort of changed her mind," she never fully forgave her husband for putting her and their daughters through the difficult campaign process.
• The interview was part of Obama's ongoing press tour promoting his new book, A Promised Land, which also delves into his marriage to Michelle. 

Running for president isn't just hard on the person vying for the job—just the process of a campaign is draining and difficult for the candidate's family, too. That's why, when Barack Obama first approached his wife, Michelle Obama, with his desire to run for the top political office in the U.S., she was clear that she didn't want him to do it.

"Her initial response was 'No,'" Obama explained during a recent interview with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show while promoting his new book, A Promised Land. "What I said to her, 'We still need to think through all the different elements of it and if at the end of that you still say no, then it's a no.'"

Obviously, Obama did end up deciding to run for president—and Michelle only kind of got on board with the decision, apparently. 

"And she sort of changed her mind, kind of," Barack continued. "But, what is absolutely true is—and I've never fully got out of the dog house for this—is that I put her and our kids through an extraordinarily stressful, difficult sequence in deciding to run for president, right after I had just gone through a tough race."

The impact of that decision followed the couple and hung over their marriage for Obama's entire eight-year tenure in the White House.

"Michelle stayed angry at me about it," he admitted, adding that "it would flare up every so often, but she stayed mad about it through all eight years."

• Mindy Kaling has given birth to a baby boy, she revealed during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Thursday. 
• Kaling welcomed her second child, named Spencer, on September 3, after keeping her pregnancy secret from the public.
• Spencer is a little brother to Kaling's daughter, 2-year-old Katherine.

Well, this is a happy surprise! Mindy Kaling announced she's welcomed her second child, a baby boy named Spencer, during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Thursday. Kaling, like Amanda Seyfried, didn't reveal her pregnancy to the public, which frankly seems like the most pleasant way to go about it.

"I'm telling it for the first time now, it feels so strange. But I gave birth to a baby boy on September 3," Kaling told host Colbert, who commented, "No one even knew you were pregnant!" Kaling responded, "I know! I know! This is news to a lot of people. It's true."

Spencer's a little brother to Kaling's 2-year-old daughter, Katherine, who she welcomed in December 2017. Speaking to Glamour last year, Kaling discussed becoming a parent, and, for her, the illusion of the "right time." "I always knew I wanted to be a mom, but I would have put it off and put it off," she said. "I’m happy that it happened when it did. I would have put it off indefinitely. I’ve seen firsthand the heartbreak of women who have waited to get pregnant."

Kaling also reflected on becoming a mom after losing her own to cancer in 2012. "For me, my relationship with my mother was such an integral part of my life," she said. "Thinking back on our relationship is still such a huge source of my happiness day to day, so I’m so grateful for having Katherine."

Back in January, New York's Senator Kirsten Gillibrand officially announced her 2020 presidential bid on an episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. "I'm going to run for president of the United States because as a young mom, I'm going to fight for other people's kids as hard as I would fight for my own," she stated. "I know that I have the compassion, the courage, and the fearless determination to get that done." Along with the passion and drive to run for president, Kirsten also has a stellar support system: her precious sons as well as her husband Jonathan Gillbrand.

If Kirsten is successful in two years' time, Jonathan will be the United States' first-ever First Gentleman in 2020. Here's more about the low-key, supportive husband who might become the first First Husband in the next presidential election.

Jonathan is a British-American who has worked a venture capitalist, where he was a successful trader, and a finance manager at GBS Holdings.

According to Kirsten, he's had a number of different jobs over the past six years, each with varying levels of flexibility, but has always been firmly supportive of his wife's political career.

He met his wife on a blind date.

When the couple first met, Jonathan was in New York getting his MBA at Columbia University (he was studying abroad from his native England), and Kirsten was just starting out as a lawyer. Their meet-cute came in the form of a blind date that was set up by mutual friends, and unlike most blind dates, it was nothing short of a success. "We hit it off right away," explained Kirsten to New York Family. The two were married in 2001 and have since had two sons, Theodore and Henry.

He's very different from her, personality-wise.

Kirsten and Jonathan are the total opposite of each other, and the differences in their personalities totally explain their divergent parenting styles. "We’re very much the yin and the yang," she told New York Family. "I’m a very encouraging parent. I like to let my children express themselves and explore new things."

"Jonathan is very focused on academics and reading. So we balance each other well in letting our children develop as young people who will hopefully be strong adults with strong character and good integrity."

Interestingly enough, their children have taken after them and have similar personality traits as a result. "They both have a great sense of beauty and design," Kirsten said of her two sons. "They’re both sensitive boys, very sensitive of other people, but very different in personality. Henry is much more like me, and Theo is much more like Jonathan."

He supports her efforts.

While being the significant other of someone heavily involved in the grueling world of politics is anything but easy, Kirsten says she couldn't have asked for a better partner. Jonathan has always been her biggest cheerleader, even when it meant taking on more work hours that would potentially drag her away from their family. "He’s always said, 'As long as you’re making a difference, as long as you’re helping people, this is something we’re going to do. And the day that you’re not is the day we’re not going to do it!'" she explained in her New York Family interview.

He's kind.

Kirsten told Vogue in 2011 that what initially attracted her to Jonathan was his kindness. "I thought he was one of the nicest and kindest people I’d ever met,” said the senator. “That’s what charmed me."

By the same token, Jonathan hates the more vicious aspects of politics because things tend to get very hostile—he's especially unenthused by the potential of personal attacks on his wife. "Not many husbands want their wives to be in politics, because it’s intense," she admitted. "The only thing he doesn’t like is when I’m attacked. He gets very upset."

They make sure to spend special moments together.

Per Kirsten's Instagram, the couple makes sure to always be together for birthdays and holidays despite her busy, busy schedule. They also try to balance the workload: "On the weekends, both Jonathan and I try to take as much time off together as we can so we can have family time," Kirsten shared with New York Family.

Timmy got profiled for Deadline!

There’s a feature about Timmy in Deadline this week, and writer Joe Utichi spoke not only to the beautiful boy himself but also to Nic Sheff, Luca Guadagnino, and Armie Hammer! Though a good primer, there admittedly aren’t a ton of revelations for stans like us (What’s that? Timmy is a talented young man? Where have I heard that before besides literally every week at the top of this column?) but it’s filled with a lot of justification for being a fan so I will take it! Also apparently Timmy loves Edie Falco, which shows good common sense in my opinion.

There was one thing that was fascinating, not really about Timmy but from him. Since Greta Gerwig’s Little Women adaptation is the only thing I like now (12 more months!) this tidbit is pretty interesting:

He had never read Little Women before the job came along. “A lot of guys aren’t aware of the importance of it, and how impactful it was,” he says. But he’s put the work into getting up to speed, and can speak with confidence now. “A lot of Louisa May Alcott’s male friends claimed to be the Laurie that the book was based on—I think there’s evidence that it was one person, and that a lot of people were wrong in the assumption that it was them.”

I did not know that! Who is the real Laurie, O.G. literary fuccboi?!

Regardless, I’m really digging Timothée Chalamet: Nineteenth Century American Novel Scholar. This is a look that he can pull off.

Timmy appeared on Colbert!

God, this feels like it happened a quarter-century ago, but we should talk about it. On November 16, Timmy went on Colbert. Though he’s been on Fallon twice thrice, this was his first time fielding the slightly tougher interview technique of Colbert. And he did fine! His hair looked bowlier than usual, which I have already said I am comfortable with, and he has never been that comfortable-looking during televised interviews. It’s part of his humble charm!

Nevertheless, there were some fantastic quotes from Timmy. Here were some of my favorites:

• — “I’d rather get [peaches from fans] than have no career at all.”
• — “I was on this TV show Homeland and somebody came up to me on the street and said, ‘I really hope there are some more shots of your feet this season.’”
• — “It seems like you guys are in love.” Re: Steve Carrell and Colbert.
• — “It’s like, Steve, you’re, like, a sex icon.”

I am always present and accepting of more “Steve Carrell is a hot dad” content. Just putting it out there.

Ava DuVernay was impressed with Timmy!

Visionary director who should be in charge of the new Dune, to be honest, Ava DuVernay, had the immense pleasure of meeting Timmy at an event and was so impressed she tweeted about the experience:

Holiday travel, am I right? Our man has been quite the jet-setter recently—Budapest, Boston, Los Angeles, New York, back to Boston, it’s not weird that I listed those from memory—and posted a few Instagram stories of various long lines at airports. Plus, this Insta pic of an exhausting scene:

Timmy’s got the best haircut for women this season!

According to a few articles, Timmy’s coif is the lewk du jour for women this winter. The Cut interviewed three women on what it was like to get Timmy-inspired ‘dos (verdict: freeing!), The Guardian did a helpful explainer on why The Chalamet works for everyone, and Refinery29 did a lovely story on the firsthand process of picking a Timmy hairstyle.

But, of course, my favorite bit of Timmy hair content will always be from our friend @TimmyIllustrated:

What is it about Natalie Portman? She just always seems so sweet. It’s the main reason why her Saturday Night Live gangster rap skits are so iconic—they're just such a reversal of expectation. I mean, the woman even gets a 100 percent Nice rating on Meanstars.com, a website I just found out about while writing this article but which I nevertheless trust implicitly!

So when she says something mean about someone, you get the sense they deserve it. Especially when the person about whom she says the mean thing is Jared Kushner.

On a Thursday night appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Portman said that she and Kushner had gone to Harvard together and even “were friendly.” Past-tense, obviously. She confirmed rumors that Kushner was a bad student in school, and then added, “Unfortunately there’s not a lot funny to say about somebody you were friends with becoming a super villain.” Ouch.

She continued, “He said in an interview that the friends he’s lost because of politics, is like exfoliating.” Colbert joked that Kushner’s comment would make her a dead skin cell. “Proudly,” she replied.

It’s rare to see a celebrity rag on another—would we call Kushner a celebrity? Well, another well-known person. But when it comes to telling the truth about a member of the Trump administration, Portman was clearly willing to make an exception.

My only hope is that this in no way affects her niceness rating on Meanstars.com.

Stephen Colbert has trafficked in Donald Trump jokes this year to the tune of 3.195 million viewers per episode, on average, for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. So pretty much no one thought he wouldn't take a few jabs at POTUS during his opening monologue at this year's Emmy Awards. And the crafter of the c*ck holster joke did not hold back. Here, some of the funniest/harshest jokes directed at DJT from Colbert and some of TV's biggest stars:

Colbert's pre-recorded opening number included the host popping in and out of the year's biggest shows, natch, and when he dropped by Veep, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as fake former-president Selina Meyer sang a bar referencing the Charlottesville crisis.

Colbert then popped by The Americans where he threw some shade about the current investigation regarding the Trump administration's role in the Russian interference in the 2016 election.

That was referring to the fact that 450 original shows that appeared on TV this season—and the president's viewing habits. Colbert went on: "Hello, sir, thank you for joining us. Looking forward to the tweets."

"The biggest star of the last year is Donald Trump..."

"...and Alec Baldwin obviously," Colbert continued. But then came the kicker: "You guys are neck and neck—and Alec you're up against a lot of neck."

"So, in a way, this is all your fault."

Colbert went on for a while about Trump's unrequited love for the Emmys. The president was nominated multiple times for Celebrity Apprentice...but never won. "Why didn't you give him an Emmy?" Colbert asked. "If he had an Emmy I bet he wouldn't have run for president. So, in a way, this is all your fault."

"I thought you people loved morally compromised antiheros?"

Continuing on the same why-didn't-Trump-win thread, Colbert went on to joke: "You like Walter White. He's just Walter Much Whiter."

"Shoulda gotten it."

One of the jokes that got the most laughs came from the president himself. Driving home the point that Trump is real bitter he never took home a golden statue (gold is his fave color), Colbert pulled up actual footage from the presidential debates. When Hillary Clinton mentioned Trump's Emmy noms, the then-Republican nominee interrupted her with, "shoulda gotten it."

"Because unlike the presidency, Emmys go to the winner of the popular vote."

In one final dig at the president's Susan Lucci situation, Colbert explains that the reason Trump always came out an Emmy loser is "because unlike the presidency, Emmys go to the winner of the popular vote."

"Every day since November 8th."

Later in a skit spoofing Westworld, Colbert was recalibrated by Bernard Lowe AKA Jeffrey Wright. Wright asks Colbert if he's "ever questioned the nature of [his] reality?" Colbert responds: "Every day since November 8th."

"At long last, Mr. President, here is your Emmy."

Alec Baldwin won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his portrayal of the president on Saturday Night Live. He kicked off his acceptance speech with the above.

"A sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical, bigot."

This one wasn't so much a joke as just a dig. The ladies of Nine to Five (Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton, and Jane Fonda, obvi) reunited to present the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series. They started off by reminiscing about how in their in 1980 they "refused to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical, bigot." And continued by saying that "in 2017 we still refuse to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical, bigot." Ouch.

"The president's worst nightmare."

Presenter Lea Michele was describing this year's nominees for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program, when fellow presenter Kumail Nanjiani added that the shows, "also celebrate people who frantically race across international borders and people who can scale walls really, really quickly. In other words, the president's worst nightmare."

"He's the reason I'm probably up here."

When Donald Glover took the stage to accept his second Emmy (this time for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series), he thanked "Trump for making black people number one on the Most Oppressed List." Adding that, "he's the reason I'm probably up here."

"We had a whole storyline about impeachment..."

Julia Louis-Dreyfus won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Selina Meyer on Veep (again). During her speech she teased at what's to come in their next (and final) season. "We had a whole storyline about impeachment—but we abandoned that because we were worried somebody else might get to it first," she quipped.

"She'd be great. She doesn't tweet."

As presenter Jeffrey Dean Morgan was describing the roles of the women nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, he wrapped with: "And, spoiler alert: The 47th President of the United States." To which fellow presenter Tatiana Maslany dead-panned: "She'd be great. She doesn't tweet." Then elbowed Morgan in the ribs—"get it? Get it?"

Eternally foxy Jane Fonda was on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert recently to promote her new movie, Youth, an Italian comedy-drama film about starring two elderly best friends named Fred Ballinger (Michael Caine) and Mick Boyle (Harvey Keitel) who reflect upon the meaning of life while vacationing in the Swiss Alps. 

Given the theme of the film, the stunning 77-year-old lost no time dropping some major truths about aging herself after Colbert asked her what she would say to her 40-year-old self. 

"I wouldn't go back 10 years," she said. "I was so old at 20. I was ancient at 30. I'm so much younger now." 

Wow, that is some deep—if counterintuitive—sh*t. We spew adages like "Age is Just a Number" and "It's Not the Years in Your life, It's the Life in Your Years," but then you see how Hollywood treats older women and talk to your grandparents and figure bitterness, regret, and bad joints are all that really await you. And then here is Jane Fonda, looking insanely hot at 77 and starring in successful Netflix series Grace and Frankie, and you realize it *is* possible. 

"When people say, 'When were you your happiest?' I have to say 'Now," she said. 

So, what's the secret to this joy that has taken her decades to cultivate? She just doesn't give anymore f*cks. 

"It's like what the hell do you have to lose?" she said. "What can they do to me now that they haven't already tried?"

The feminist icon then went through a series of lady-empowering emojis that Colbert prepared for her. She vetoed burning bras but approved Miley Cyrus, Leaning In, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, along with exercising Jane Fonda. Because that's important.
