Sperling and Phillips will tie the knot at All Saints Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire, followed by a reception at Princess Anne's home, Gatcombe Park.

According to the Daily Mail, Phillips has hired Bentley's Entertainments, a luxury event planning company who worked on David and Victoria Beckham's wedding and Princess Eugenie's royal nuptials in 2018. The company also planned Phillips's royal wedding to ex-wife Autumn Kelly in 2008.

While it might seem slightly strange that Phillips is using the very same wedding planner for his second wedding, the company actually has a Royal Family connection. Per the Daily Mail, the business was founded by Peregrine Armstrong-Jones, who just so happens to be the half-brother of Princess Margaret's husband, Antony Armstrong-Jones.

Phillips famously sold his wedding photos to Hello! magazine in 2008, but that apparently won't be happening this time. "A magazine deal is out of the question as the issue is now very sensitive," a source told the outlet.

Notably, Phillips's ex-wife, Autumn Kelly, is allegedly set to attend the wedding, per GB News. Phillips and Kelly continue co-parent their two daughters, Savannah and Isla, and it seems as though they have maintained a civil relationship post-divorce.

In his book, A Royal Duty, Princess Diana's former butler, Paul Burrell, recalled the moments leading up to the royal's engagement to King Charles. According to Burrell, a famous jeweler "was spotted with a small attaché case" at the palace, causing speculation regarding an imminent proposal.

Per the former butler, "David Thomas, who was responsible for the upkeep of the Crown Jewels in the Jewel House at the Tower of London, had in fact brought...rings, with strict instructions not to include rubies or emeralds." Burrell also shared that Thomas's attendance seemed "far too cloak-and-dagger" for anything other than a high-profile engagement.

According to Burrell's recollection, "A selection of diamonds and sapphires was set on a tray for—oddly—The Queen's perusal. Once the monarch had made her choice, [Charles] gave his approval. Lady Diana was third in line to offer her opinion."

If Burrell's account is to be believed, Princess Diana wasn't completely responsible for selecting her now-iconic engagement ring.

"The bride-to-be accepted the selection that had effectively been made for her because she did not want to appear rude and ungrateful," Burrell wrote in his book.

Burrell's version of events slightly deviate from previous stories told about Princess Diana's engagement ring. As reported by Vogue, Charles showed his bride-to-be several potential rings from the jeweler Garrard, and the princess "opted for an Ceylon sapphire stone surrounded by diamonds set in white gold—which also happened to be a stock item." Basically, the design wasn't unique to the Royal Family and could've been purchased by anyone else who viewed the jeweler's catalog.

As the founder of Abelini, Nilesh Rakholia, previously told Marie Claire, "The ring, originally created by Garrard for Princess Diana, features a 12-carat oval Ceylon sapphire set in 18-carat white gold and framed by 14 solitaire diamonds...Its design drew inspiration from Queen Victoria’s sapphire-and-diamond cluster brooch, a wedding gift from Prince Albert in 1840." Basically, it seems as though Diana might have had more agency over selecting her ring than Burrell gave her credit for.

Of course, once Prince William proposed, the Princess of Wales's life changed dramatically, and she must have been forced to undergo a huge adjustment period. According to a new book, wedding planning left Princess Kate looking "like a rabbit in headlights."

In his new book, William and Catherine: The Monarchy's New Era: The Inside Story, royal expert Russell Myers explored what happened prior to, and directly following, the couple's engagement. "Naturally, William was accustomed to courtiers creating a hive of activity around the big state occasions," the royal author shared. "But this was an entirely new experience for Catherine."

Myers continued, "Having been prevented from seeing much of the inner workings of the palace machine until her engagement to William was announced, and having had the sparsest of contact from the palace communications team, even as she had struggled with life in the spotlight, she was now faced with the reality of the world she was entering."

Understandably, Prince William's team had a lot of work to do following the royal engagement news, particularly as the couple prepared for their wedding.

"A team of 20 aides was immediately assigned to the palace to help with the planning," Myers explained. He continued, "Catherine's nervousness was evident. The palace team took charge of facilitating everything from the venue to the reception, to Catherine's choice of dress designer and flowers, right through to liaising with the government and police to ensure the public would be able to join in the momentous national occasion."

Discussing Princess Kate's reaction to the huge response to her engagement news, one palace courtier told Myers, "It's fair to say she looked like a rabbit in headlights. We did our best not to bombard them with information, as much would be taken out of their hands anyway, but I think the speed at which the whole operation had to get off the ground was a surprise to both of them."

Luckily, Princess Kate embraced her new role within the Royal Family and quickly became a firm favorite with royal fans.

Myers quoted one former senior courtier, who shared, "It was quite an exciting time considering there was a tiny group who knew it was coming. It was our duty to make sure nothing leaked, mainly to protect Kate, but also because it would have made our jobs a lot more complicated."

As royal fans already know, Prince William decided to propose to Kate during "a romantic getaway to Kenya, returning to the 55,000-acre Lewa Wildlife Conservancy the couple had visited in 2005 after graduating," Myers noted.

Explaining just what a crucial point it was in William's life, Myers wrote, "Anyone who has prepared to ask a loved one to marry them will know the intense nervousness that comes with arranging the perfect moment to propose, but also the incredible responsibility of carrying the ring around with you until you finally find that moment. Luckily, Princess Kate said "yes," and the pair married on April 29, 2011. But it's clear that palace courtiers had their work cut out for them when it came to keeping Princess Kate safe amidst the royal marriage furore.

Early in episode 6 of FX's Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Caroline Bessette-Kennedy, the titular CBK confesses something that seems unimaginable to brides around the world. "I never thought about my wedding," Carolyn, played by Sarah Pidgeon, says with a sigh and a tousle of her blonde hair. "Getting married just never seemed as romantic as being married."

No one watching can miss the dramatic irony: The bridal industry often cites the couple's 40-guest wedding at First African Baptist Church in Cumberland Island, Georgia, as one of the romantic ceremonies in modern American history. And Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy's custom Narciso Rodriguez wedding dress created an entire class of bridalwear all on its own. "This dress was not a revolutionary move for Carolyn," fashion journalist Sunita Kumar Nair writes in Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy: A Life in Fashion. "The slip dress was already a firm member in her wardrobe club, but it was her decision for it to be her bridal dress that set her apart."

In an era when brides were still fixated on Princess Diana-esque sleeves and Disney princess skirts, the Calvin Klein publicist's understated choice stood out. "Even though the slip dress style was popular for daily wear in the '90s, that style for a wedding dress was not common," stylist Bailey Moon agrees. "I think part of Carolyn's appeal is that she was able to take minimal silhouettes and styles and completely own them." That rule applied even on the biggest day of her life—a moment Love Story captures in its "Wedding" episode.

"I think everybody saw that dress," Rudy Mance, the series' costume designer, tells Marie Claire ahead of the new installment's March 5 premiere. "Despite being a private wedding, it was the most photographed wedding dress of all time, really."

So of all the looks in Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy's famed wardrobe that could appear in Love Story, anticipation for the 1996 wedding dress's revival might have been the highest of any single garment made for the series. The backstory is as sentimental as the wedding itself, after all: Bessette-Kennedy chose Rodriguez, a close friend, to design her gown shortly after he left their mutual employer, Calvin Klein, for the design director role at Cerruti. The final gown captures how well he understood her sensibilities as a bride, and as a woman.

"It was such a simple, simple dress and such a simple design, but that was part of the beauty of it," Mance says. "It was so minimalistic and it really did push the boundaries. It really did blow up everyone's notion of what they thought a wedding dress should be."

Given the outsize reaction to Love Story's costumes when test shots surfaced last summer, the pressure to perfect Carolyn's wedding dress couldn't have been higher. Like the actors preparing to inhabit the characters, Mance and his team studied every image they could get their hands on to get the garment right: wedding dress sketches published in Vanity Fair, the handful of photographs that eventually became published, clips resurfaced in the 2019 documentary JFK Jr. and Carolyn's Wedding: The Lost Tapes.

"We watched that and did as many screenshots and stills of her from the side, from the back," Mance says. "I watched how it moved."

Replaying grainy footage can only get a design team so far. But then, Mance says, there was a breakthrough: an assistant specializing in made-to-order and custom builds tracked down the exact store where Rodriguez sourced the fabric for Carolyn's dress, New York City's B&J Fabrics. Better yet, the store could provide the key to mimicking the exact sheen of Bessette-Kennedy's luminous gown.

"They had kept the actual swatch of [the fabric] because it was such a benchmark in pop culture. Of course, it's 30 years later, so it's yellowed and discolored," Mance says. "But through them, we were able to contact the same mill [where] Narciso had gotten the fabric, had it imported from Europe, and so that's what we made the dress out of."

The accessories, too, were sourced from the exact brands Bessette-Kennedy wore, sometimes with her original measurements or pieces as the blueprint. "For the shoes, we went to Manolo Blahnik, and they got us the original pair from their archives," Mance says. For the bridge's gloves and veil, the New York City-based glove manufacturer offered the same bespoke fabric—and "the actual sketch of Carolyn Bessette's hand."

In real life, Bessette-Kennedy and Rodriguez reportedly deliberated between three final versions of the eventual wedding dress. On the show, too, Mance worked with a trio of gowns—but his were crafted out of practicality. One was a prop for a scene where Rodriguez holds up the dress; one was for the bride to be sewn into in her suite; and the final was the gown Pidgeon wore for each take.

Over several fittings and dozens of Lost Tapes re-plays, Mance collaborated with Philadelphia-based couturier Anna Light to fine-tune the dress's fit. "We'd have Sarah walk and she would dance in it, and we would sort of tweak from there," he says. The painstaking process finally ended after midnight—on the night before filming the wedding. "[Light] slept over in New York, and we finished the dress at 2 A.M. Then it went on camera a couple of hours later the next day."

Mance describes the day the wedding was filmed in upstate New York as "magic": seeing the candles lit in the faux chapel, watching Pidgeon and Paul Anthony Kelly twirl around the tent-covered dance floor in a convincing portrayal of lovestruck newlyweds. The wedding scene, he says, captures a feeling the production wanted to bring from start to finish. "It was just as important to the actors and the writers and directors, every single one of us, as much as it was to me, to really pay our respects and try and be as true to who these people were as real people. For me, it was coming through in terms of the clothes."

Today, Moon notes brides can channel CBK's dress with everything from custom wedding gowns by One/Of to off-the-rack options at Net-a-Porter and Mytheresa. The impression it made thirty years ago has lasted. "That's glory of Carolyn's Narciso dress—it's timeless," the stylist says.

And, it only needs a few moments—or a single photo passed around the world—to reassert its impact. In Love Story's final cut, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy's take on a fairytale wedding dress is onscreen for a few short minutes. Still, it captures the dress's aura in the moment and in the present, including for the actor wearing it. "It's the best, it's the most beautiful dress in the entire world," Sarah Pidgeon told Marie Claire in her cover story. Slipping it on and wearing it up the re-created aisle, "[I] understand why it's so iconic."

The release of another batch of Epstein files has seemingly implicated a plethora of high-profile and famous people all over the world. For instance, Sarah Ferguson and her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, are both facing further allegations regarding their connection to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Now, Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit has apologized for her own association with the disgraced financier.

In a statement to Norwegian broadcaster NRK (via Hello! magazine), Mette-Marit explained, "Jeffrey Epstein is responsible for his actions. I must take responsibility for not checking Epstein's background better and for not understanding quickly enough what kind of person he was." She continued, "I deeply regret that, and this is a responsibility I must take. I showed poor judgment and regret ever having any contact with Epstein. It is simply embarrassing."

Emails between Epstein and Mette-Marit were included in the Department of Justice's latest release of files. In an email dated October 21, 2012, the Norwegian princess referred to a recent royal wedding, allegedly telling Epstein (via Hello! magazine), "Boring wedding. Was like some kind of old movie. Where you know the characters are not hanging around for much long[er]."

The suggestion that Mette-Marit didn't have any knowledge of Epstein's criminal background was also brought into question by the content of some of her alleged emails. For instance, in October 2011, Mette-Marit seemingly emailed Epstein saying, "Googled u after last email. Agree didn't look too good."

A year later, Epstein told the princess that he was embarking on a "wife-hunting" expedition to France, while reportedly joking that he preferred "Scandinavians," via the Times. Mette-Marit apparently responded by saying, "Paris good for adultery. Scandis better wife material."

Having grown up within the British Royal Family, and then moved to California with his wife, Meghan Markle, Prince Harry has had a more dramatic life than most. Luckily, the Duke of Sussex has a sense of humor when it comes to his surprising life path, and he knows it has a little in common with Downton Abbey.

At a networking event celebrating relationships between the U.S. and the U.K., Prince Harry delivered a keynote speech, which included some pretty funny jokes. "People sometimes ask if growing up with the Royal Family was a bit like Julian [Fellowes]'s Downton Abbey," Harry told the audience (via Hello! magazine). "Yeah, but only one of those worlds is filled with drama, intrigue, elaborate dinners, marriages to Americans, and the other is a TV show."

The Duke of Sussex also referenced the fact that much of the FIFA World Cup would be taking place in the U.S. in 2026. "Next year, we are all welcoming many more fellow Brits from across the pond, provided they behave, and that they make it through customs, past ICE," he said. He then noted his surprise that "both England and Scotland have qualified" for the competition, calling it "a Christmas miracle."

The prince also referenced his time serving in Afghanistan, and the crucial relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom. "That partnership is deeply personal to me," he noted. "Not only because my family and my life are here today, but because of the extraordinary American servicemen and women I've had the honor of serving alongside in Afghanistan. Our two nations's bond rests on centuries of friendship, shared values, innovation, and mutual prosperity."

Basically, as a Brit living in America, Prince Harry was perfectly placed to deliver the keynote at an event honoring both countries.

Prince William and Princess Kate announced their engagement on November 16, 2010. The same day, they posed for photos at St. James's Palace in London, and conducted a televised interview with journalist Tom Bradby. At the time, Kate Middleton wasn't entirely comfortable, and according to royal experts, Prince William needed to swoop in and "rescue" his fiancée in a "moment of panic."

According to Katie Nicholl's book, Kate: The Future Queen, the Princess of Wales had been "dreading" the engagement interview, via the Daily Mail. The royal author explained, "Afterward Mr. Brady remembered her leaning back and sighing with relief, exclaiming, 'I'm no good at this!'"

As noted by the Daily Mail, rare footage later revealed an exceedingly sweet moment between the Prince and Princess of Wales, with William attempting to calm Kate's nerves. "William encouraged his anxious fiancée to 'breathe' before Kate quipped: 'I'm not very good at that!'" the outlet reported.

As it turned out, Princess Kate had nothing to worry about as the interview was well-received by the general public. Nicholl shared that Princess Kate intentionally made a "point of placing her hands on her lap so that she didn't fidget with her hair and spoke beautifully in a cut-glass accent."

During their engagement interview, Prince William also revealed the way he made sure his late mother, Princess Diana, was included in his proposal to Kate. "It's my mother's engagement ring, and it's very special to me, as Kate is very special to me now as well," the Prince of Wales explained. "It was only right the two were put together."

"Kate had reason to be beaming; the couple was hiding a secret," People reported. "After much speculation, William had already asked his girlfriend of around 8 years to marry him. But they postponed telling everyone until several weeks later."

In their engagement interview with ITV News, Prince William revealed, "We had a little private time away together with some friends, and I just decided that it was the right time, really. We had been talking about marriage for a while, so it wasn't a massively big surprise. I took her up somewhere nice in Kenya, and I proposed."

In late 2024, Princess Kate's brother, James Middleton, released his book, Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life. The memoir included a plethora of anecdotes about the Princess of Wales, including the fact that Kate and William threw a private late-night after-party following their traditional wedding. James described the party, which took place at London's Goring Hotel, as "bustling" but "calm."

Revealing the after-party's unexpected theme, James wrote, "There, a replica of Basil's Bar on Mustique—a small private island in the Grenadines and a holiday spot the family had visited many times—has been set up." Taylor Swift recently appeared on boyfriend Travis Kelce's "New Heights" podcast to promote her next album, The Life of a Showgirl. Listeners praised the chemistry between Swift and her NFL beau, and now a new report has seemingly confirmed how serious their relationship has become.

"Taylor and Travis have settled into a real rhythm as a couple, and the more time they spend together, the more they realize how aligned they are," a source told Us Weekly for a new profile of the romance.

Earlier this week, Princess Anne's son, Peter Phillips, announced his engagement to nurse Harriet Sperling after a year of dating. This will be the second royal wedding for Phillips, who split from his first wife, Autumn Phillips, in 2019. Could Prince William play quite an important role in his cousin Peter's next wedding?

The royal editor of Hello!, Emily Nash, weighed in on how meaningful the engagement was to the Royal Family, including the Prince of Wales. "This is wonderful news for Peter and Harriet, but also the wider Royal Family," Nash said of the engagement. "Peter is close to The King and to his cousins [Prince William and Prince Harry] and Harriet seems to have been warmly welcomed into the fold."

Peter's "close" connection with William has been well documented, and might be a sign that the Prince of Wales will support his cousin during the next royal wedding. For instance, in 2024, a source told The Telegraph, "[Peter has] always been that sort of slightly older brother to William."

The source continued, "He is likely going to pop the question, but it is going to be when he isn't playing anymore and not getting ready for a big NFL season."

The insider also suggested that Swift's retreat from the spotlight following the end of the Eras Tour was entirely purposeful. "If she is about to drop any new music, she hasn't told anyone, even people who are very close to her haven't been made aware of anything new coming out," they told the outlet. "She has been very tight-lipped. Many close to her would be very surprised."

According to Instagram account @kyliejennercloset, designer Paul Aaron was tasked with recreating a crochet crystal top from Chloe's Spring 2000 RTW collection, which was originally worn on the runway with Kylie's vintage white skirt. Responding to a comment asking if Kylie's top was a "copy" of the vintage Chloe item, designer Paul Aaron responded, "[I]t was the brief, the blueprint. "With a population of just 50 and 3 miles long, the paradise island was the perfect escape," Nicholl wrote (via the Daily Mail). "[B]oth of them knew that at some point they had to discuss the future."

Nicholl continued, "For a young man who has an inherent fear of tomorrow, this was not easy for William, but the tranquil backdrop of the island was as good place as any to discuss it."

A plethora of celebrities have been spotted in Venice ahead of the flashy nuptials. David and Elizabeth Emanuel were responsible for creating Princess Diana's wedding gown, which remains one of the most famous royal wedding dresses of all time. In a new documentary, one of the designers has revealed the secret code name they gave Princess Diana, in order to keep her wedding gown a secret until the royal wedding.

Princess Diana married King Charles, then the Prince of Wales, on July 29, 1981. Diana's wedding dress was apparently inspired by a "fairytale" gown worn by supermodel Jerry Hall, which was also created by the Emanuels. In new documentary, Secrets of Diana's Wedding Dress, Elizabeth Emanuel shared (via People), "When we started to see Diana, we were just very aware of security, so we decided to call her Deborah. We called her Deborah Cornwall. Isn't that strange?"

Prior to King Charles's coronation, Queen Camilla was known as the Duchess of Cornwall, which referred to the duchy over which her husband presided.

As well as giving Princess Diana a special code name, the Emanuels took a number of security measures in order to maintain their client's privacy. Per People, the designers hired two security guards, and "put different swatches of material in the garbage bins, hoping to foil any journalists who may have been tempted to sift through the trash."

The Emanuels also created a second wedding gown, in case details about Diana's actual dress leaked to the press. Elizabeth previously told People, "I was a bit neurotic, and I thought, 'What happens if somebody breaks in and steals the dress or something spills or there's a fire or it gets stolen?'" She continued, "So I thought, 'I'm gonna make a backup dress.'"

Elizabeth spoke to People about what it was like working with the late princess. "When Diana came in for a fitting, there would be hundreds of people outside waiting to spot her," Elizabeth told the outlet. "We had to put shutters up on our windows."

The biography also alleged that, per Princess Diana, Frances was "hurt" when she wasn't included in any of the royal wedding preparation. Diana also claimed that her mother started taking anxiety medication, suggesting the stress of her daughter's wedding necessitated it.

The biography also explored Diana's childhood, and how devastated the royal was when her parents divorced. In an interview with The Sunday Times, Diana's brother Charles Spencer explained, "While [Frances] was packing her stuff to leave, she promised Diana she'd come back to see her...Diana used to wait on the doorstep for her, but she never came."

During his interview with The Sunday Times, Diana's brother elaborated, "Our father was a quiet, constant source of love, but our mother wasn't cut out for maternity...she couldn't do it. She was in love with someone else, infatuated really."

Queen Elizabeth II was known to have a brilliant sense of humor. Whether she was pranking American tourists in Balmoral or allegedly impersonating Melania Trump, the Queen's wit was well documented. It also appears that the late monarch carried out some amazing surprises, such as turning up at a stranger's wedding at the last minute.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Frances and John Canning sent a wedding invitation to Queen Elizabeth II in 2012, purely because they had one spare. It transpired that the Queen would be attending an official engagement nearby on the same day, so she planned to put in an appearance at the couple's nuptials.

"The late Queen and Duke of Edinburgh had been attending a lunch with 200 local volunteers in an adjacent room, and the Queen had asked if she could pop in to congratulate the bride and groom," the Daily Mail explained. "The Queen and the Duke then spent about five minutes talking to the newlyweds, Frances and John Canning, and even agreed to pose for a few photographs."

Understandably, the Cannings were elated when the royals actually turned up on their big day. "It was bizarre that she knew our names," Frances told the outlet.

Reflecting on Queen Elizabeth's presence at their wedding, John told the publication, "She commented on how beautiful Frances looked in her dress and wished us all the best for the future." As for Prince Philip, John called him a "lovely man," explaining, "He even asked where in Italy we were going on our honeymoon."

As for how the unexpected moment happened, the Daily Mail reported that the Cannings discovered "they would be sharing the venue with a V.I.P." on their wedding day.
