The founders of Joule Caffeine Bracelet have raised more than 360 percent of their original fundraising goal (that's more than $62,0000)—probably because they have created a bracelet that literally feeds you caffeine without the usual effort that goes into making and drinking a cup of coffee.
Why would one need to wear her caffeine instead of drinking it, you ask? Joule's creators claim this new approach delivers the perks of the drug (productivity, energy, etc.) without the less fun consequences that come with drinking coffee regularly (stained teeth, bad breath, spending all your money on Starbucks).
According to the product's IndieGoGo page, when you snap on a Joule bracelet, the transdermal patch on the band's inside will deliver caffeine the way nicotine patches deliver nicotine: straight through the skin into the bloodstream. This method also helps moderate how much caffeine you're getting at any given time, allowing you to be consistently energized instead of crashing and burning a few times a day.
There's no release date on the bracelets yet, according to EliteDaily, but those who invest now will be able to buy the Joule (in bracelet or watch form) for just $29 when they do come to market. In the meantime, you'll have to continue drinking your coffee like a basic person from a boring mug.
(It's also worth noting the creators don't yet have any actual scientific backing saying the product is safe or effective, but CAFFEINE above all, right? I'm just kidding. Please wait until the FDA says this is cool before you go ahead and buy 100 magical caffeine bracelets.)
