Benedict Cumberbatch, heartbreaker and keen observer of romantic holidays, left his wife of two days to honor his commitment to…Jimmy Kimmel.
"I'm so impressed," Kimmel told Cumberbatch during Monday's episode. "Because people cancel on us for bad reasons sometimes, like, 'Oh, you know, I was out too late the night before,' but you got married (opens in new tab) in England on Saturday and here you are!"
"I felt bad about you not coming, so I thought I'd be here on my honeymoon," the man-makeup advocate (opens in new tab) replied.
Probably realizing how disappointing it must be for Cumberbatch not to be enjoying the company of a certain lovely, accomplished, Oxford-educated theater director, Kimmel brought the post-wedding celebration to him, avocado slicer and all. (Then they bantered on about names for the Cumbermunchkin, and it was cute, if a bit like a steel-toed boot to the stomach. #happyforyou #notbitter)
Below, watch the pair sip virgin tropical drinks and kick back on a (faux) beach—just like a pair of newlyweds.
