Known for their colorful and at times controversial ads, Benetton never shies away from featuring real people of almost every age, race, and ethnicity in their ad campaigns. Taking that idea one step further, they've launched the 'It's My Time!' casting competition to find the future face of its 2010 Fall/Winter campaign via the world wide web.
From February 8 to March 16, interested candidates can upload pictures and videos to represent their unique style and state of mind. What makes this online competition different from any other modeling contest? It's not all about having a pretty face. The company wants both style and substance, and is looking for someone who has "something different, something unconventional, something surprising, something real." It's not about "how you look but how you are."
The top 100 entrants, as voted by web users, will win a 200 euro Benetton shopping spree and be featured in an upcoming book on global style. From those 100 finalists, 20 will be chosen by a panel of judges and flown to New York where one lucky winner will be the face of the United Colors of Benetton 2010 Fall/Winter fashion shoot.
Think you have the fresh face, quirky style, and one-of-a-kind attitude needed to win? Visit benetton.com/casting and get started!
