Ben Stiller's Female Viagra Commercial Will Make Your Day
Women need viagra too, ya dig?
Female viagra was introduced back in October 2015, but as of January only 1,000 women had been prescribed it. The good news? Ben Stiller, living hero, wants to change those statistics and improve your sex life.
The comedian filmed a (ahem, fake) "female Viagra" commercial, telling The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, "I mean, you know, there's all those ads for male Viagra out there, but people don't realize there's female Viagra. I thought, you know, it would be great to get the word out, so I did this spot—more like a public service announcement."
The commercial features Ben making eyes at the camera and cooing "Even though zero women suffer from erectile dysfunction, over 98 percent of women over 30 suffer from another condition called 'Not Being Turned on By Their Husband Anymore.' Female Viagra helps women get in the mood and stay in the mood, and you only take it when you need it, like anniversaries, special occasions, or when your husband rolls over and says, 'Wanna have sex?'"
Hilarious, yes, but the drug Flibanserin (aka Addyi) could actually use some legitimate traction. Nearly 500,000 Viagra prescriptions were written in the first month it hit shelves (and it has 70 percent insurance coverage), while only half of the tiny number of women who even have female Viagra prescriptions get help paying for it. Just a friendly FYI before you commence the chuckling.
