Nalini Method is a fitness studio, boutique, lifestyle studio on the Upper West Side, and I started a non-profit called Nalini Kids, which is targeted toward combating obesity in public schools. The one thing that pops out to me when I walk into a class is how overweight people are even not physically, just emotionally. Their aura, their demeanor, the integrity. So, I wrote a book called Connect To Your One. It's about losing the weight of words, and the words that shape your identity. So, I go teach 45 minutes of fitness and 45 minutes of this [unknown] club. And so, I really hope that these kids begin to understand what emotional weight can do for them and what physical weight does. I would like to [unknown] the public school system, and try to get teachers to be more entrepreneurial and take home this program themselves and spread Nalini Method nationwide. Two things have inspired me to start my slim profit class, teaching, and my parents. And then they've all seem to combine. My one word that sums up my life is Connect, that I hope to connect other people for their one word. Someone wanting to give back to my organization, they can e-mail me at rupa@nalinimethod.com.
