Jay-Z Finally Addresses That Elevator Fight with Solange Knowles

"We've had one disagreement ever..."

Jay-Z has given us a vague insight about the fight he had with Solange Knowles at the 2014 Met Gala.

The two were seen arguing in a hotel lift, after which Knowles physically attacked Jay-Z as Beyoncé looked on calmly. A joint statement was published not long after in which the pair said that they had "worked through" their issues.

However, the rapper this weekend maintained that he and his sister-in-law have a good relationship.

"We've always had a great relationship," he said on the Rap Radar podcast. "I fought my brothers and argued with my brothers my whole life. It just so happens, who we are, these things go into a different space, but it ain't nothing."

"We've had one disagreement ever," he continued. "Before and after, we've been cool. She's like my sister. I will protect her. That's my sister. Not my sister-in-law. My sister."

Jay-Z addressed the fight in his most recent album, 4: 44, also referencing Eric Benet, who was allegedly unfaithful to his ex-wife, Halle Berry.

"You egged Solange on / Knowin' all along, all you had to say you was wrong / You almost went Eric Benet / Let the baddest girl in the world get away / I don't even know what else to say / N***a, never go full Eric Benet."
