Stewart+Brown and Riverkeeper Partner up to Celebrate Earth Day
The sustainable design duo teams up with one of the most important environmental organizations in America for their latest collection.
Riverkeeper about five years ago. I was still in college at the time, but I already knew that it was a charity that I wanted to support, namely because their work was directly affecting my life as well as the lives of my family and friends. In short, Riverkeeper protects our water — the waterways in and around the Manhattan area. So thanks to Riverkeeper, the Hudson River has gone from being one of the most contaminated waterways in America to one of the richest and most abundant.
It is one of the greatest environmental success stories, and so, in honor of Earth Day this week, Karen Stewart and Howard Brown, founders of the sustainable RTW line Stewart+Brown, have decided to donate 20 percent of their full price e-commerce proceeds to Riverkeeper! The duo's passion for the environment is one of the reasons that they started their line in 2002 — and now this passion has inspired them to support one of the most important environmental organizations in America. I am so thrilled about this collaboration … words cannot express! Click through to see photos of me wearing my fave pieces and sketches Stewart+Brown made of me — and then go shopping!
Here are some pics of me wearing pieces from Stewart+Brown's new collection! My favorite is the long-sleeved dress:
And these are some sketches Howard and Karen gave me. That's me in their clothes! How cute!
