Why Princess Kate Won't Be Attending a Birthday Party Her Sister Pippa Middleton Is Hosting This Weekend
The Princess of Wales is skipping the celebrations.
The Middletons are, by all accounts, an incredibly close family. However, Princess Kate is reportedly skipping a party being hosted by her sister, Pippa Middleton, this weekend.
According to Hello! magazine, Pippa is currently "preparing for an intimate birthday celebration for her husband," James Matthews, who turned 51 on August 21. Pippa and James live at Bucklebury Farm in Berkshire with their three young children—Arthur, Grace, and Rose. The property is located near to the home of Kate and Pippa's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.
Unfortunately, as Princess Kate is currently at the Royal Family's Balmoral residence in Scotland, she won't be in attendance at the birthday celebration, per Hello! magazine.
The outlet previously confirmed that Princess Kate and Prince William had arrived at Balmoral with their three kids—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. As a result, their trip to Scotland clashes with Pippa's husband's birthday party.

In 2021, Prince William shared just how much trips to Balmoral mean to his children. "George, Charlotte, and Louis are already aware of how dear Scotland is to both of us, and they're beginning to create their own cherished memories there, too," he said in a speech.

Kate, William, and their children join King Charles, Queen Camilla, Zara Tindall and her family, Peter Phillips, and new royal bride Harriet Sperling in Balmoral for the Royal Family's annual summer vacation.
