Nordstrom's Sale Is Very Good Right Now—Here's What a Fashion Editor Is Buying
Your insider's guide to shopping smart, with approved finds from Kallmeyer, Tod's, and Celine.
Shopping is, quite literally, my entire job, which means I've developed a few occupational hazards: an unreasonable ability to identify any item my friends are wearing, a running mental inventory of every fashion piece I desire, and the inability to ignore a really good sale. After years of sorting through new arrivals, designer collections, and more shopping pages than I'd care to admit, I've become pretty particular about what actually deserves a spot in my closet. A good discount is nice, but a fabulous find at a discount? That's what I'm talking about!
Which brings me to the Nordstrom sale, currently stocked with the kind of fashion finds that make my job especially enjoyable, and my pockets considerably less budgeted. I'm talking about designer accessories, wardrobe staples, luxe outerwear, and cold-weather footwear that makes a statement. I have a very specific approach to sale shopping that makes things fairly simple: If I wouldn't want it at full price, I won't buy it just because it's marked down. The goal is to find things I'll wear on repeat, not another item I inevitably store at the back of the closet and then donate.
As for what's made my shortlist? A belted trench coat from Sandro, with surprise pleating at the back. A suede shopping tote from Tod's—perfect for work, and beyond. Kallmeyer's barrel-leg jeans, which I've had my eye on for a few months now—winter white, anyone? I'm also eyeing a beautifully understated Loulou de Saison knit, Tory Burch's black Ella purse, and the perfect pair of Levi's, of course. Because you can never have too many.
Ahead, the best Nordstrom sale finds I've personally selected, with plenty of reasons to add them to your cart.
