We're devastated. And if you had your fingers crossed that love would trump hate, that at least most Americans were finally ready to repudiate racism, sexism, ableism, and xenophobia, you are, too. Given the circumstances, it can seem easier to give up, to throw in the towel, to do as I swore I would just a few hours ago and stay on my couch until 2020.
But we can't. The next few months—they'll be brutal. If we don't muster up a new vision for the future, we're doomed to the one Trump has ordained for us. And that's not an option.
