Irina Grechko
Irina Grechko is a New York-based writer and editor covering fashion, culture, and travel. She is currently the interim senior fashion news editor at Marie Claire, where she assigns, edits, and writes timely stories for the section. She also contributes to franchises like The A-List Edit, which test-drives celebrity-approved trends IRL, and The Close-Up, an intimate look at the biggest red carpet-event looks of the season.
In addition to Marie Claire, Irina's recent work has appeared in publications like Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, Fashionista, Who What Wear, EE72, Surface, and more. Prior to that, Irina served as fashion director at Refinery29, where she oversaw news, features, and shopping for the fashion vertical. Before that, she was the deputy editor at Nylon, covering fashion, beauty, wellness, travel, entertainment, and lifestyle.
Over her 15-year-plus journalism career, Irina has covered everything from Fashion Week (she has been to all the Big Four cities—London may be her forever favorite—as well as Copenhagen) to style trends, costume design (one of her favorite beats), and fashion history. She has also reported on new openings and travel destinations, reviewed art exhibits, and profiled designers, stylists, actors, chefs, and creators.
A graduate of Emerson College, she holds degrees in journalism and writing, literature, and publishing. When she’s not reporting on the latest runway trend or interviewing a source, she can usually be found in New York planning her next trip or taking a salsa dancing class.
