From childhood snapshots to portraits as a young lady, here are beautiful and rare photos of the late Queen Elizabeth as a young princess. She passed away on September 8, 2022, ending her 70-year historic rule as Great Britain’s longest-reigning monarch.

Here's a ten-year-old Crown Princess Elizabeth of Great Britain, later Queen Elizabeth II, bonding with her pony.
The Queen was known to be an avid horse-rider since she was a young girl. She went on to later own and breed racehorses. She worked alongside horses her entire life and continued to ride into her 90s.
On June 23, 2022, The Sun released photos of Her Majesty on a gentle horseback ride in Windsor, months after she was told to quit.

When she was not tending to her beloved horses, Elizabeth lived up to her various princess duties including stately functions and portraits.

The Telegraph would later title Elizabeth as "The Million Mile Queen." After visiting more than 117 countries and covering more than 1,032,513 miles, she is the most travelled monarch in history.
At the time of Prince Philip's death in April 9, 2021, he and Queen Elizabeth were married for 73 years.
