Ted Cruz Has Dropped Out of the Presidential Race

After Trump's Indiana primary win, Cruz has decided to call it quits.

After losing the Indiana primary to Donald Trump on Tuesday, GOP candidate Ted Cruz announced that he would officially be suspending his presidential campaign.

"From the beginning, I've said that I would continue on as long as there was a viable path to victory," Cruz said in a press conference on CNN. "Tonight, I'm sorry to say, it appears that path has been foreclosed (opens in new tab)."

"We gave it everything we've got, but the voters chose another path," Cruz said. "And so, with a heavy heart, but with boundless optimism for the long-term future of our nation, we are suspending out campaign."

As a result of Cruz's announcement, GOP frontrunner Donald Trump will likely receive the Republican nomination later this year.
