Hillary Clinton Talks "Unfinished Business"

Looking out to the worldwide audience at her 2013 Annual Clinton Global Initiative Meeting last week, Hillary Clinton talked "unfinished business" as she recalled the 1995 United Nations' Beijing summit on women where she famously asserted that women's rights were human rights.

With the 20th anniversary of the Beijing summit just on the horizon, Hillary announced an unprecedented partnership between World Pulse— the leading global network for women— and Intel Corporation that aims to eliminate the gender digital divide.

The fruit of this collaboration, encompassing Intel's current digital literacy programs and World Pulse's empowerment training, will be a brand new platform that enables idea and support exchange among women in developing countries. It hopes to reach 5 million women in sub-Saharan Africa in the next three years, ultimately reducing the digital gap for women in Africa by 50 percent.

"While the Internet has changed billions of lives around the globe, millions of women and girls are still being left behind," said Jensine Larsen, World Pulse Founder and CEO. "But we can take action and provide millions of young women with the digital skills and platform they need to participate in the global dialog and economy to find their voices and transform their lives."
