Office Bathroom Etiquette

Office Bathroom Etiquette

Dear CC: I feel uncomfortable peeing and primping and what have you in the ladies' room if my supervisor is in there, too. Am I overthinking this, or would you recommend holding it until she clears out?

Office Bathroom Etiquette

CC sympathizes, having avoided a certain bodily function for four full years in a coed dorm. Talk about bloat! There is a limit to how "real" you ever want to be with a superior, so yes, if you can avoid sitting one stall away from her after your morning coffee and cruller, do. If you're in there already and see her Jimmy Choos approaching, stop humming "SexyBack," peruse that wayward copy of In Touch, and postpone anything involving sound effects till she's finished her business. Of course, she may be waiting you out, too. This could take awhile.
