Nike is challenging people young and old, of every fitness
level, to get up and run together on one day – around the world. More
specifically, they are looking to have one million runners participate in a 10K
called the Nike+ Human Race on August 31.
Proceeds from the Nike Human Race
will benefit three global charities:
The World Wildlife Fund (WWF)
Physical 10K races will take place in 25 global markets from
London to Istanbul to Shanghai and Sao Paulo. In the U.S., they will be hosted
in Austin, Chicago, New York and L.A. Major musical acts will perform following
the races in each of those markets including Ben Harper, Fall Out Boy,
All-American Rejects and Kanye West respectively.
Those residing outside of physical race markets can join in
via NikePlus, by registering for
the race and uploading their 10K run data to nikeplus.com on race day, August
31.
