2026 is all about you.

2025 has been a year of twists and turns, with the fashion industry doing its best to find its grounding amongst the noise. Soaring tariffs, higher production costs, and less disposable income per household have led to skyrocketing retail price tags, muted color palettes, and limited options—especially as a plus-size shopper.

So, next year, I’m resolving to do what I want to do with my personal style, and I’m adjusting my shopping habits to make sense for me. 2026 will be my year to be bold, soulful, and intentional. It isn't just about elevating style; it’s about elevating the self. That’s the best look of all.

Personality Dressing Is In

Things have gotten a little more subdued than I like, so I’m choosing to lean into interesting shapes and fashion tchotchkes. I love a funky hat! I’m thinking pins and brooches galore, crazy earrings, and comically oversized everything.

Support Brands That Are Committed to Inclusivity

This year, it became glaringly obvious that the fashion industry has been treating inclusivity and diversity as a trend, and I’m determined to do what I can to make it understood that we are here to stay. That means putting my dollars towards designers committed to representation. As a stylist who works with clients outside of sample size, I’ve naturally built relationships with these designers over the years, and I know for a fact this ethos is important to them.

Buy Less, Curate More

2026 fashion isn’t about volume; it’s about volume with value. That means investing in pieces that speak to my identity, whether that’s a vintage jacket or a handcrafted belt that adds just the right amount of splash. Quality over quantity, always. I’m saying no to impulse buys that do nothing for my closet. Marché Rue Dix, McMullen, and Industrie Africa are a few of my favorite boutiques and brands for buying intentional, individualistic pieces.

Reworked and Slow Fashion Is Chic

2026 isn’t just going to be about how I look; it’s about what I stand for. That means championing designers who honor sustainability, equity, and craftsmanship. Deadstock fabrics, reworked pieces, and slow production equal high value in my book.
