The Spring 2021 Colors You're Going to See Everywhere
From striking silver to not-so-mellow yellow.
I know the weather is just starting to cool down and you're all about your fall wardrobe, but I'm about to give you something to look forward to. As you read up on the upcoming clothing, bag, and shoe trends, there's one thing you'll most definitely notice about Spring/Summer 2021: Color. After a long however-many-months in quarantine (I've lost count), the last thing I want to do come springtime is wear head-to-toe black. Luckily, that won't be on the menu, thanks to a variety of bold hues spotted on the runway. From sunny yellows to pretty pinks and striking silvers, Spring 2021 will be happy and bright. So check out the below and get excited for some color in your future.
Striking Silvers
This season, Paco Rabanne, Balmain, Balenciaga, Burberry, and Isabel Marant sent sexy silver silhouettes down the runway, proving that there will not be a shortage of party clothes come springtime. From chainmail to lamé, this metallic hue is going to be major for 2021.
Paco Rabanne Runway
Norma Kamali Diana Gown
This Norma Kamali dress is sexy yet flattering with its ruched detail and built-in bodysuit. Accessorize with a strappy sandal and a statement earring and you're good to go.
Paco Rabanne Nano 1969 Square Chainmail Bag
If the idea of wearing head-to-toe silver is too overwhelming, don't sweat—that's the beauty of accessories. Take an all-black look up a notch by adding a mini chainmail bag for the perfect amount of shine.
Christopher Kane DNA Pleated Metallic Tulle Midi Skirt
Try a gunmetal pleated mini skirt for a more "mature" metallic option when your clubbing days are behind you. Pair the skirt with a chic cream sweater, some black boots, and a crystal earring to keep the look fun.
Paco Rabanne Gathered Chainmail Dress
If you're looking to dive headfirst into the silver trend, I suggest going straight to the source...Paco Rabanne. A Paco Rabanne chainmail dress is absolutely iconic. Keep the rest of your look minimal to let the dress shine.
Not So Mellow Yellow
Sunshine yellows brightened up the runway this season. From this acid yellow look from the first Miuccia Prada & Raf Simons collaboration to luscious lemon dresses at Versace and hints of yellow in the accessories at Fendi, this color will boost your mood come springtime.
Prada Runway
Donni Waffle 1/2 Zip
One way to make a comfy look a little more exciting: incorporate color. Trade in your boring black hoodie for this fun yellow 1/2 zip with a pearl zipper detail. Pair this piece with some jeans and cute mules.
Prada Studded Detail Backpack
This bag is perfect if bright yellow is just a bit too sweet for your liking. The edgy studs offset the sweetness, allowing you to incorporate a pop of color into your wardrobe.
Akila Apollo
Nothing screams cool like a pair of yellow tinted lenses against a dark black frame. The Apollo glasses will give any outfit an instant boost. Think a simple white baby T, jeans, black boots, and these bad boys...you can't go wrong.
White Out
A palate cleanser this season among all the bright colors: Head-to-toe white looks. We saw different versions of an all-white blazer and trouser combo from Fendi, Victoria Beckham, and Max Mara. The brands chose to keep the styling minimal, with sleek accessories creating an overall clean look.
Fendi Runway
Staud Kind Cable-Knit Cropped Top
Recreate the above Fendi look with this cable-knit top, a white blazer, white trousers, and some sleek sunnies for a polished springtime outfit.
The Frankie Shop Elvira Belted Suit Pants with Button Tab Cuff in White
You can't go wrong with a pair of classic white trousers—they're a great piece to have in your closet. For a dressed-up look, rock them with a matching white jacket and a blouse. Or you can keep things laidback and pair the trousers with a black muscle tee and some platform sneakers.
Jacquemus Le Bambino Leather Top Handle Bag
This is the perfect little bag for nights out on the town. It fits your phone, keys, cards, cash, and lip gloss...you know, the essentials.
Source Unknown Sweetheart Neckline Ribbed Knit
This ribbed knit with a sweetheart neckline paired with jeans and a statement necklace is a simple yet sophisticated look.
Pretty in Pink
From Philosophy (pictured here) and Chanel to Molly Goddard and Giambattista Valli, shades of ultra-feminine baby doll pink popped up as one of spring's biggest colors. If you're not the type to gravitate towards such a girly hue, the bold fuchsia seen at LaQuan Smith might be more your speed.
Philosophy Runway
Sleeper Maxi Dress “Brigitte” in Micro Polka Dot
This season, we saw light pink ultra feminine dresses. Lean into the girly trend with the Sleeper Brigitte maxi dress. The puff sleeves give it that romantic feel while the linen fabric makes it wearable for everyday.
Mowalola Pink Leather Suit Trousers
Pink doesn't always have to be light, frilly, and ultra girly. This season, LaQuan Smith gave us glossy '70s inspired looks in a bold fuchsia, proving that pink can be sexy. If that sounds like your vibe then Mowalola is one to watch. The Nigerian-born London based newcomer is known for working with leather and PVC in a variety of bold colors.
Ganni Merino Wool Cardigan
The Chanel show featured all different shades of pink, but what stood out to me was the variety of light pink cardigans. Style this Ganni sweater with some black and white pinstripe trousers to recreate this look.
It Ain't Easy Being Green
One of the biggest colors this season was green. It came in a variety of different shades, ranging from sea foam, mint, emerald, lime, neon and more.
Alberta Ferretti Runway
Miaou Green Campbell Corset
Try a sexy corset-style top this spring. Rock it with the matching skirt for a full lime look or pair it with jeans to keep things casual.
JW PEI Eva Mini Gradient Chain Shoulder Bag
It girls love a mini shoulder bag, and this JW Pei Eva mini is a great way to participate in the trend without breaking the bank.
Saks Potts Shearling-Trimmed Leather Coat
If you're looking to invest in a statement coat, this Saks Potts piece is a great option. It's a classic silhouette in an on-trend color, making it worth the hefty price tag.
Orange Ya Glad?
Don't be afraid of wearing orange. Yes, it's bold—but it was one of the most prevalent colors on the Spring 2021 runways. As with this sexy Sportmax dress, all it needs is a summer tan and a strappy gold sandal. The hue was also spotted at other shows like Acne, Ferragamo, Valentino, Burberry, Versace, MSGM, Miu Miu and more to remind us not to shy away from bold colors.
Sportmax Runway
Cult Gaia Cyn Gown
Picture this: The world is open, you're in Italy for a summertime destination wedding, and you're wearing this dress. All you need are some gold strappy sandals and gold hoop earrings.
Bottega Veneta Padded Cassette Leather Shoulder Bag
A bright bag is a great way to incorporate color into your wardrobe. This orange bag will look great with neutrals such as white and beige.
Attico Venus Orange Slingbacks
Your summertime shoe: Found. This strappy orange slingback paired with a white mini dress and some gold jewels is the perfect night-out look.
Red Hot
Head-to-toe red was a common theme this season. The spicy color was seen at Hermès, Fendi, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Valentino, Sacai, Chanel and more. Whether it's a red dress, lip, or shoe, you should incorporate this hot hue into your wardrobe this season.
Hermès Runway
Cherry LA Swingers Sunglasses
These red sunnies will be the cherry on top of a cool all-black look. Think leather jacket with a muscle tee, black jeans, and combat boots.
Dion Lee Cut Out Jumper
Forget your boring black sweaters and try this bold red knit. The cutouts give it an edgy feel that'll pair well with jeans or leather pants.
Balenciaga High-Rise Leather Miniskirt
It goes without saying that this skirt is red hot. Perfect for a night out—all you need is a black bodysuit and some platform heels.
Deep Blue Sea
The runways were covered in different hues of blue, ranging from French blue to cerulean and royal blue to navy. Whether you're into light and bright or deep and moody, there's a hue for you this season.
Acne Studios Runway
The Frankie Shop Faux Leather Bermuda Shorts in Cerulean
These cerulean Bermuda shorts are a great transitional piece. Rock them with boots in the winter time and swap into mules when the weather heats up.
SockSeason Diamond Sheer Crew Sock | Teal
In my opinion, socks are an under-appreciated accessory. I personally love a sock moment. Pair these sheer blue socks with some loafers and cropped leather pants.
The Line By K Florence Slip Dress Powder Blue
Slip dresses are a must-have in any wardrobe. This one is perfect because it's simple yet sexy in a trendy color. You can dress it down with some sneakers or dress it up with some strappy sandals and statement earrings.
