Labor Day has a way of feeling like a deadline. One last weekend to wear white, one last excuse for a sundress, and so the story goes. Honestly, I'm not really buying it. The pieces I've been reaching for all summer aren't going anywhere come September; they're just getting a few new pairings! A great white pant doesn't stop being great in October. Neither does a slip dress, or a pair of woven Mary Jane flats—if you know how to layer them properly.

Instead of saying goodbye to summer dressing, I'm just easing into fall. Ahead, 7 outfits I'd recommend this upcoming Labor Day weekend. Wear them this weekend exactly as they are, then start swapping in a jacket, a boot, a darker wash of denim—and let them carry you straight into fall.
