MAC's New Metallic Glitter Lipsticks Will Give You Heart Palpitations

For most people, the focus of #NYFW is the debut of new collections of clothes on the runway, but for the beauty-obsessed viewers, it's the makeup products making their own debut backstage. Last week, Makeup Artist Dominic Skinner, who is working with MAC backstage at fashion week this season, posted a teaser to his Instagram featuring seven of the most alluring glittering lippies that we've ever been fortunate enough to lay our eyes on.

The sparkly lipsticks aren't due to hit makeup counters until the fall, with the exact date still unclear, but we do know one thing and that is we can't wait to try each one of these babies. Skinner's post features reds, nudes, and golds that are intensified with serious shimmer, yet somehow still appear to have a smooth texture for an even application and free of chunky glitter.

Where have these shimmery shades been all of our lives? MAC has an entire line of 27 loose glitters—why hasn't the beauty giant come out with any glitter lipsticks yet? Well, after doing a deep dive into the glamorous trenches of the MAC archives, we've found that the only collection that has ever compared to this one was a limited edition line of 13 glittery hues called the MAC Dazzle Lipstick Collection that came out in August 2010 and was only sold in a few select countries (but according to reviews around the internet, those lipsticks were nothing short of amazing.)

Can you even begin to imagine what kind of names MAC is going to come up with for these bad boys? We are beyond excited.
