Watch Kate McKinnon Teach Kids About Money

In honor of Financial Literacy Month.

April is Financial Literacy Month, so it's a good time to actually assess the balance in your savings account—and talk about it, especially with your kids, since children form financial habits by age 7. Kate McKinnon is setting the example in a new video basics of saving money. She might be talking to children, but...it's also great advice:

McKinnon partnered with Beth Kobliner, money guru and New York Times best-selling author of Make Your Kids a Money Genius (Even If You Are Not) and Get a Financial Life, f or the video. The book uses simple language and real-life examples to help you understand the logistics of finance, instead of trying to scare you. And, in addition to delivering some good tips, the video is just really cute.
