While the rest of us were sitting at home watching Tian Tian videos on repeat and wondering when Pizza goes stale (answer: never), Leonardo DiCaprio, blessed be his name, was over in Italy meeting with the Pope. Their conversation? Presumably one part how Rose refused to let Jack onto her raft and one part climate change.
"I think he wrote this encyclical, which is one of the most important things in the climate change history, so to speak," Leo revealed at the SAG Awards. "Basically, spreading the gospel that we should care about the planet we live in. It's a sin to destroy our planet...he's been inspiring and revolutionary to come out and be outspoken about the issue of climate change and endorse the scientific community."
Leo is working on a documentary about climate change, and admitted that he was inspired by filming The Revenant. "We shot in Calgary, and weather conditions were unprecedented—fluctuations from hot to cold," he said. "The locals had told us they had never had a weather experience like that since they've lived there, and we realized that 2015 was the hottest year in recorded history...It's absolutely, absolutely terrifying. I hope I'll be able to complete this documentary in the next few months and show people my journey."
And we volunteer as tribute to follow Leo on said journey. #InHisNameWePray
