Melissa McCarthy Crushes Our 'Gilmore Girls' Dreams: "I'm Not Doing It"
Hello darkness my old friend.
Sorry, internet prayer circles, Melissa McCarthy is 100 percent not joining her fellow Stars Hollow denizens on Netflix's Gilmore Girls revival. OR IS SHE? (No, she's seriously not...maybe.)
"I am thrilled that they are doing it," the star recently confirmed to ET. "I am not doing it."
McCarthy's statement to ET seems pretty concrete, but hold up: she also told E! that she doesn't think she's joining the cast.
"I don't think I am," she said. "I didn't actually get asked to do it. But I think they thought I was busy, and then by the time it did come up, then I actually was."
Can we all agree to live in a (possibly delusional) world where the word "think" means McCarthy is secretly going to make an appearance? Because there's no doubt that she misses playing Sookie: "I want to cook again. I want to put salt and then stir. That was seven years of my life and it was really great. I was proud of that show."
