Kat McNamara loves books...so much that when she was 10 years old all she wanted was a portfolio of Shakespeare's work! The Stand actress gives us a tour of her bookshelf in Marie Claire's latest episode of Shelf Portrait, where celebrities, influencers, and famous bookworms invite us inside their homes to show off their personal libraries.
During the tour, we learn McNamara's favorite books of all time include Arcadia by Tom Stoppard and Richard Adams's Watership Down. She stayed up all night to read The Mortal Instruments series the first time she read it, and she thinks The Princess Bride is a beautiful read. Of course, she couldn't not show us Making Movies by Sidney Lumet, which reminds her why she loves telling stories in the first place and aspires to be a director. Two of her favorite people to get book recommendations from are Alberto Rosende (he has a book club!) and Will Tudor. She also dreams of a Whoopi Goldberg tell-all. (Ahem, so do we.)
Find out more about McNamara's passion for books by watching her Shelf Portrait video, above, then order some of her favorite reads for yourself, below.
McNamara is an ambassador for Precision1's "See What Happens" campaign.
