In our biweekly series, editors share the item so versatile, so chic, so comfortable that they wear it over and over and over again—whether it be a basic white tee or a super-trendy jumpsuit. Prepare yourself (and your credit card) for some guilt-free shopping.
I have only been in a relationship with my SLVRLAKE London jeans for a little over a year, but it was love at first sight. As a self-proclaimed "denim enthusiast," I felt it in my bones that I struck gold when I slipped these bottoms on. The high-rise, straight leg silhouette is an updated, cooler version of the skinny jean. The style elongates my legs and they're equally as flattering as they are comfortable.
This pair is at the top of my denim stack and part of my fashion uniform. I no longer have to try on 10 different pairs of denim every time I get dressed to see which pair works—this one always does. I've worn the bottoms during late nights at the office, to brunch with my girlfriends, to photoshoots in Paris, and on date nights with my fiancé. You can dress them down with a casual pair of Stan Smith sneakers or amp up the sexiness with a strappy heel. And if I want to escape for the weekend and pack light, I just take my SLVRLAKE jeans with me. (When you live in NYC like I do, your allotted closet space is practically non-existent, so get yourself a pair of jeans that does the most for you.)
Lately, when I need a little break from my quarantine-life wardrobe, nothing feels as good as slipping into these denim bottoms. Though my loungewear served me well during my binge-watching sessions on the couch, but it was inevitable that I would come back to reality and wear "real people clothes" again. The relaxed cut is comfy, so I've had no qualms about trading in my worn-out sweatpants for denim. These jeans have eased me back into my pre-pandemic style.
