Della Partners with Apple to Create MacBook Cases Handmade in Ghana
Carry Change. That's the slogan of this amazing partnership between ethical accessories brand Della and Apple. It's the perfect catch phrase, considering that these one-of-a-kind MacBook cases are all handmade by women in Ghana with 100% Ghanaian soured materials.
In 2009, designer Tina Tangalakis went on a volunteer trip to Ghana and instantly fell in love with the country and it's people. It was from that trip that Della was born, a company that provides jobs, education, and skills training to women in Ghana. Some of these skills include team leadership and management skills, weekly literacy classes, and bi-monthly savings classes. And starting next month, Della will start the first women's volleyball league in Hohoe, Ghana!
Apple caught wind of Tina's phenomenal work and hired her company to create 3 MacBook cases in signature Ghanaian patterns. And starting tomorrow they will be exclusively sold in Apple stores in NYC and LA.
