Welcome to Beauty Around the Clock, Marie Claire's weekly peek into the daily lives of some of the most game-changing women in their industries. Ever wonder how they get it all done in a day? Here's your answer.

If anyone has the whole self-care thing figured out, it's Gwyneth Paltrow. At 48, the Oscar-winning-actress-turned-wellness-icon has built the Goop empire by vetting feel-good products with guidance from the world's most influential (and sometimes controversial) health experts on speed dial. Does she have something to ease our ongoing stress? Zap the anxiety that's cropped up on our skin? You bet. (For one, she's partnered with Merz Aesthetics on the injectable wrinkle smoother Xeomin, more below). Over Zoom, we ask Paltrow to share a slice of her well-balanced life.

    Rise and Shine

I used to wake up every morning at 6:30 and it's like shot out of a cannon, make breakfast, have coffee... But one of the beautiful silver linings of this pretty tumultuous time is that I don't think I've set an alarm in months. And so [now] I wake up usually somewhere between 7:30 and 8.

    Power Start

I've recently recommitted to my celery juice in the morning. There was a lot of talk about celery juice in the medical medium—that it's bullshit. It's celery. One of the doctors that I work with, Alejandro Junger, said to me that he had been doing it and he thought there was something really special to it. So I've been doing a huge glass of celery juice, and then I go and do Transcendental Meditation for 20 minutes. And then I have coffee and catch up on emails and stuff.

    Morning Maintenance

Lately, I've been trying out a serum that we have coming out in the GoopGenes family. And then after I work out, when I hop in the shower, I use Malachite, the G.Tox foaming cleanser, which smells incredible, and put on GoopGenes moisturizer and go.

    Feel-Good Fix

I'm on the East Coast, so I can work out at 10 a.m. here because my office in L.A. doesn't open until noon or 1 p.m. my time. I work out and have one of my Goopglows in my water bottle, sometimes two. I either do Tracy Anderson or a class by Taryn Toomey or I'll do core power yoga with weights, a yoga sculpt class...something like that. If I can't do a workout in the morning, then a lot of times I'll take a long walk in the afternoon for an hour and a half—a good brisk walk. And then I try to do intermittent fasting until lunch. Sometimes I have a smoothie and then a pretty clean lunch. And then just work all afternoon until dinner basically. And dinner is whatever, something delicious.

    Zoom Hack

I've been working with Xeomin and it hasn't changed things that much. It's helped with some refreshing and it makes looking in the Zoom reflection of myself all day a little bit more tolerable. I've told this story before but when I was turning 40 I had, like, a midlife crisis and did a major anti-wrinkle situation and it was awful; I looked terrible. One eye was going the wrong way, one eyebrow was higher than the other, my face was frozen. Luckily I wasn't filming anything and I would just wear big sunglasses. So I hadn't done anything in years, but then my friend Julius Few, who's a plastic surgeon, said I should try [Xeomin]: "One teeny drop, it's a uniquely purified version [of botulinum toxin] so it's clean, you're going to love it." And I did, it was great.

    Evening Wind-Down

I take a bath every night. I love the ritual. I love the amazing smelling salts. I have a candle on, sometimes I listen to music, it's just such a nice moment. I love our Martini bath soak or sometimes the G.Nite soak. And I'll put on our Microderm and get in the bath and let it sit and then scrub my face in the bath and moisturize again. And I've been finding myself listening to a lot of girl singers like Kacey Musgraves in the bath. I also love Taylor Swift's new album. It's all kind of mellow, more like singer/songwriter-y girl kind of thing.

    Lights Out

I try to be in bed by nine o'clock, as nerdy as that sounds. My kids are in their rooms by that point, they're winding down too. But they're 14 and 16 so they don't need me to put them to bed anymore. So I get in bed, usually watch some Netflix murder show or something like that and then go to sleep. I've been watching a lot of murder shows out of Spain for some reason. And I think because I watched one and liked it, they keep serving me all these Spanish murder shows. So I've gone down a very deep Spanish murder show hole.
