Brunettes, the Tiger Eye Dye Job Is the One You've Been Waiting For
Balayage at its finest.

Hand-painted honey highlights will always be a classic for brunettes (ahem, Holly Golightly), but that doesn't make the art of perfecting a J.Lo or Jessica Alba balayage any easier.
But how's this for a potentially game-changing tip? Instead of presenting your colorist with a torn-out photo from a celebrity gossip rag for inspiration, hand them a piece of tiger eye.
"A tiger eye is an ancient stone worn for protection and confidence—it's known for its rich browns and golds," Corey Tuttle, a Honey Artists hairstylist, tells Byrdie.
But while the precious stone has therapeutic qualities like aiding harmony and balance (are you listening, Spencer Pratt?), it's the tiger eye's silky mix of golden and brown stripes that inspires Tuttle to artfully paint caramel highlights on a warm or dark chocolate base for fall. And the best part is that it's totally lazy-girl-grow-out friendly.
