December's Sony leak ended up leading to Jennifer Lawrence's pay-gap essay, but perhaps its greatest contribution to culture is this photo of Angelina Jolie staring down former co-chairman Amy Pascal—who had bashed her in the stolen emails—with a look of such unadulterated disgust you kind of wonder how ol' Ames wasn't petrified.
But in a new interview with the New York Times, Jolie explains that she wasn't about to ice Pascal—she was merely concerned for her wellbeing.
"There are certain things that bother me and certain things that don't," she said. "Personal attacks on me? I think I'm just so used to it. Honestly, my first instinct was that I was worried about Amy. I had someone call her and ask if she was O.K. Not because I'm a saint, but because I think we have to look at the bigger picture. She's got kids. I knew it was going to unravel for her."
Key phrases: "I had someone call her" and "I knew it was going to unravel for her." Damn, that is some tasty shade.
