Tomi Adeyemi, bestselling author of Children of Blood and Bone (opens in new tab) and Children of Virtue and Vengeance (opens in new tab) (the first two books in the Legacy of Orïsha (opens in new tab) trilogy) gives us a tour of her personal book collection in Marie Claire's latest episode of Shelf Portrait (opens in new tab), where celebrities, influencers, and famous bookworms invite us inside their homes to show off their personal libraries.

Adeyemi feels like there's a movie going on her head while writing her books, so, naturally, she feels that way while she's reading them too. Her all-time favorite book is Avatar: The Last Airbender (opens in new tab)but she's also obsessed with The Rihanna Book (opens in new tab) (yes, it's as big as it looks in the video!). Her third favorite book of all time is Sabaa Tahir's An Ember in the Ashes (opens in new tab) that Adeyemi calls "epic," considering it inspired Children of Blood and Bone (opens in new tab). Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows (opens in new tab) is also at the top of her list, describing it as Ocean's 11 meets Game of Thrones, as well as Lupita Nyong'o's Sulwe (opens in new tab).
