The Best NYFW Looks Were Also the Most Wearable

For all the fantasy and spectacle that comes with fashion month, some of the most compelling clothes at New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 were also the easiest to imagine beyond the runway—wearability and personal style are still reigning supreme! Across the week, designers returned to the proposition of a genuinely useful wardrobe: relaxed tailoring, fluid dresses, clever layers, strong outerwear, and familiar staples manipulated just enough to feel new. The result was fashion with ideas behind it, but not so many that the clothes lost their relationship to the women who will eventually wear them.

That pragmatism is part of what New York does particularly well. Its runways can be directional without becoming divorced from reality, offering styling ideas that translate almost immediately to a closet already in progress—and what New York fashion girl's closet is ever truly finished? A great jacket can be worn with jeans; an oversized shirt can change the proportions of a familiar trouser; a runway skirt suddenly makes you reconsider everything hanging beside it. Spring 2027 offered plenty of those moments—looks that inspire rather than intimidate, and clothes that prove “wearable” never has to mean predictable. It’s one of the qualities that continues to make New York Fashion Week feel distinctly, and compellingly, New York.

From the balloon pants and funnel necks at Ashlyn to Brandon Maxwell's double sweater layering and leather skirt pairing, these are the six most wearable outfits spotted on the NYFW runway.
