Big Girl in a Skinny World: Accessories
Go behind the scenes of this week's Big Girl in a Skinny World episode with host Marcy Guevara.
Accessories are a plus-size girl's best friend. Am I alone or not? I can't even remember the amount of times I've been out shopping with friends and veered straight to the accessories section to get my shop on! While my waifish pals look for the latest trendy trenches or try on shift dresses the size of my underwear, I have lived relegated to shoes, bags and jewelry. I'm not necessarily complaining because I do love me some sparkle, but I am simply stating the fact that accessories have become my go-to due to years of being unable to wear the clothes I covet.
Shoes and bags are crucial to looking your best, as is jewelry. I have so many memories of "needing" a particular pair of earrings or sweating over losing a special necklace. I have been addicted to accessorizing from a young age, so much so that I was known to trade or upgrade while at school or a birthday party.
Even though our choices for clothing have grown exponentially, accessories are still a big part of being a fashionista. Whether using them to dare to try a new trend like neon or floral, or simply making a statement, they can make or break an outfit.
Today's episode of Big Girl in a Skinny World highlights some of the best in the business, and gives direction on how to wear these extras just right. I hope you'll share your accesories-centric thoughts, and let us know where you love looking for those pieces that complete your outfits.
