Libyan Woman Speaks Out

Alleged Rape Victim in Libya Speaks

We've been following Eman al-Obeidy's story since it first broke. She's the woman in Libya who bravely spoke out claiming that forces loyal to leader Moammar Gadhafi raped and assaulted her. As we sadly well know, it's hard enough for many women to come forward about being attacked here in America, making her brave vocal allegations in Libya all the more impressive. She recently sat down for her first interview with CNN.

In the interview with CNN's Nic Robinson, Eman al-Obeidy says that she is still unable to leave Tripoli and makes a plea for humanitarian organizations to come see for themselves what is going on in her country. We can only hope from afar that they do and that Eman's bravery in speaking out helps to give voice to other women who may have suffered through similar violent attacks.
