Here we are in sunny (yes, sunny!) Tampa for the Republican National Conventions! I'm Nona, and I'll Marie Claire's political blogger from now until the elections. Most recently, I was writing on politics and culture for GOOD magazine, and the last time I was in Florida, I was hard at work on a 2010 midterm elections series for public radio. Judging by our first few minutes, it looks like the RNC is officially in full swing—Isaac-sized storm be damned.
I'll be posting here a couple times a day reporting on relevant business, lady- or otherwise. We have the luxury of ignoring the RNC horserace, which means I get to wander off and discover any intriguing sideshows, protests, or characters. And I plan on sampling the, ahem, after-hours entertainment made famous by a certain Channing Tatum vehicle. Also, I'm a convention virgin, so you may get a wide-eyed post or two about the sheer craziness of this political circus.
We'll be Instagramming from @marieclairemag, and I'll be tweeting compulsively at @NonaWA—so feel free to follow along there, too!
