Update, 6/25: She might wear white button-downs to da club, but Emma Watson can get downright scary when she's playing Alexis Neiers/an impressionable tech wiz who becomes embroiled in the rise of a totalitarian regime.
According to Variety, the Beauty and the Beast actress will star alongside Tom Hanks in a new adaptation of Dave Eggers's novel The Circle, which is about a Googular organization storing all our personal information and how Periscoping will contribute to the downfall of society if we don't wake up and smell the overexposure. So, you know—perfect for a date night.
Alas, we must wait a while to find out why we should all close our social accounts and never look back because—whomp whomp—filming begins in September.
Original post, 6/11: Emma Watson's got a new movie under way and it looks absolutely gripping.
In the trailer for thriller movie Regression, Emma plays the lone survivor of a mysterious and frightening crime. The detective Bruce Kinner, played by Ethan Hawke, gets lost in the small town's secrets and shadows while attempting to find the truth.
Did you just get chills or was that us?
There is currently no release date for the film, but the trailer assures it's "coming soon."
Side note: Did anyone catch Hogwart's Professor Lupin as the psychiatrist? It's like a mini Harry Potter reunion.
