These Photos Of Beyoncé, Jay Z and Blue Ivy As Art Are Everything
Making Beyoncé even more of a work of art than she already is.
We don't get to see nearly enough family portraits of our favorite celebrity family—the Carter's, of course. Jay and Bey may have offered a sneak peek to their family home videos during the On The Run tour, but everyone knows that there's just never enough. Now, an inventive Tumblr is trying to make up for that by imposing the faces of Beyoncé, Jay Z and of course, little Blue Ivy into the bodies of figures in classic paintings, captured by their "official portrait artist". The site, aptly titled The Carter Family Portrait Gallery, features the Carter family in countless classic works of art. Beyoncé, who is practically a work of art in her own right, looks oh so fabulous as if she were painted by masters such as Leonardo da Vinci, Andy Warhol, Boticelli and Gustav Klimt, to name a few. As if more proof was needed, Beyoncé literally looks good in anything, whether she's crooning in a skintight bodysuit, an elaborate wig with 17th century garb, or lounging wearing nothing but a turban and a duster.
Iconic art coupled with iconic superstars? Needless to say, we're obsessed. Sadly, the chances of museums around the world showcasing these fabulous updates alongside the originals are low, so we'll have to just admire them via the internet (as per usual). Below are just a few favorites, although it's super hard to narrow them down—Bey and Blue as the Madonna and Child or Jay Z posed in Picasso's The Old Guartist? Bey and Jay as American Gothic? There's just too much to love here, and no better way to kick of Art Appreciation Month. Check out the full family album here for even more.
