Vanessa Lachey Breaks Down Crying After Revealing Emergency Surgery
This is so scary.
Vanessa Lachey and Nick Lachey welcomed their third child Phoenix Robert last year—and Vanessa just revealed that she went through emergency surgery in the process. During an episode of long-running reality show Dancing with the Stars, the star broke down crying while talking about her son arriving 10 weeks early:
“I was in the hospital on bed rest and then my water broke. I was only 29 weeks,” she said. “I was on the operating bed and I looked up and I didn’t know a single face and I remembered thinking, 'I hope the baby’s okay and don’t worry about me. Just make him okay.'"

Nick added, “I’ll never forget. She called me in a panic: ‘They’re taking me in for an emergency surgery. Get here as quick as you can'....I think as a man, you want to believe you can protect your kids, protect your wife. I never felt so helpless.”
This is completely heart-wrenching and so brave. 💜
