Princess Diana Like Never Before

Well, that's a Newsweek cover we never thought we'd see.

Much like the rest of the Internet, the new cover of Newsweek (opens in new tab) totally creeps me out. It pictures a digitized version of Princess Diana had she lived to turn 50, "walking" with her daughter-in-law.

Thought it's certainly drumming up a ton of press. My favorite line comes from Jezebel (opens in new tab) where writer Dodai Stewart refers to the story as the "shudder-inducing fanfic of the week", which is such a spot-on description (opens in new tab)Newsweek editor and Diana biographer, Tina Brown pens the story (opens in new tab) about what Diana would have been like now, including affairs both romantic and philanthropic. There's even a fake Facebook mock-up (opens in new tab).

I'm going to plant myself firmly on the side of unnecessary with this stunt, especially for Newsweek. But what do you think? Is it fun to imagine Di Tweeting from a London fashion show? Or going shopping with Duchess Catherine? Or does it creep you out too?
