A bridesmaid is never to upstage the bride—but when your bridesmaid is Sarah Jessica Parker, following that unwritten rule gets a lot harder. SJP donned a purple frock in the wedding of her nine-year-long Sex and the City assistant Melinda Relyea this past weekend in Connecticut. The two may have met on the set of Sex and the City, but their friendship continued long after the show ceased production. Relyea has worked on some of Sarah Jessica's starring films, was an associate producer on both SATC movies, and today, is vice president of her production company, Pretty Matches.
Regardless of who was wearing it, SJP's strapless bridesmaid dress couldn't hold a candle to the wedding gown—a gorgeous white Oscar de la Renta frock covered in a floral black print. Congratulations to the happy couple! Unfortunately, though, Mr. Big was a no-show. Typical.
