Fall Is My Favorite Time to Shop at Cos—16 Pieces I'm Coveting
Autumnal finds worthy of a place in your closet.
Like it or not, autumn is just around the corner. As someone who isn't an enthusiast of warm weather, I'm genuinely exhilarated by the prospect of the crisp season ahead. Cooler temperatures naturally encourage a more elevated personal style, allowing us to dress without the aggravation of humidity, heat, and, of course, biting insects. Fall offers the ideal opportunity to play with fashion—whether that means exploring novel layering ideas, incorporating richer textures, or embracing fuller silhouettes and sweeping lengths. When September arrives, COS is always among the very first stores I visit.
COS has made an art form of the affordable wardrobe palette cleanser: intelligent, architectural, endlessly wearable clothes that feel considered without appearing overworked. The retailer understands what the modern woman (and man) are after, offering generous trousers, deceptively simple knits, and quietly directional accessories. You know, the sort of pieces that make getting dressed feel less like following a fleeting trend cycle and more like developing a point of view to build upon.
In today’s new-in edit, you’ll find peplum and stand-collar jackets that rival the construction of runway pieces that would indeed break the bank. And of course, there are everyday essentials to be considered, like a long-sleeved cotton T-shirt and wool V-neck sweater. COS doesn’t skimp on the accessories, either! A chocolate brown bowling bag (hello, early aughts!) and cherry red ballerina flats are very of-the-moment finds to add to your rotation.
All of that and more new arrivals from COS, ahead.
Haven't you heard? The funnel-neck is here to stay.
For fall, I'm leaning even further into my obsession with balloon pants. Imagine these with a square-toe ballet flat and a slim turtleneck.
A stand collar is an easy way to add detail to your outerwear.
White jeans are for summer, and darkwash is for winter. If there's any jean wash that screams—fall!—it's the lightwash, straight-leg.
Fluid, glossy, and easy to style, this midi skirt will become a favorite for turtleneck and oversized button-up shirt pairings, à la the Olsen twins.
It's time to lean back in to fall's favorite shoe: the soft loafer.
