Jacket Season Isn't Here Yet, But These 18 Nordstrom Sale Pieces Are Making Me Impatient

If you ask me, transitional dressing marks the most exciting time of year in fashion. Even before temps start to dip, I find myself daydreaming about the jackets I'll wear come fall. One of the smartest times to invest in outerwear is actually out of season—and between the 100-degree days and the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale running July 18 through August 9, there's no better time to score a great deal on one.

Fashion people know that a great jacket changes everything about an outfit. Jackets can elevate the most basic layers underneath, or do something unexpected over a simple dress. Since it doesn't look like the temps are dipping anytime soon, all I can do is shop. And honestly, with picks like these, that's not the worst consolation prize. Ahead, the 18 sale finds that are not helping my impatience one bit.
