Believe It or Not, This 2025 Trend Will Stand the Test of Time
You'll see.

As a fashion editor, I'm pretty strategic and intentional when it comes to incorporating trends into my wardrobe. The trend needs to feel exploratory and timely while adhering to the unspoken dress code that I've curated for myself. It's safe to say that I can't test-drive every trend my colleagues forecast or spot on the streets of NYC. But I like to think that some trends are actually cult classics disguised as style disruptors just for the fun of it. Take the suiting trend, for example, which has been around for decades inside and outside the corporate sphere.
While suiting isn't the most controversial trend out there, we've seen it styled boldly on the steps of The Met this year and playfully done in everyday wear. It's even more powerful when styled with a timepiece—another classic that has made a successful return to the trend cycle. It would be a crime to talk about the longevity of a trend like this one without offering my expert styling advice. Here's everything you need to suit up for summer.
Cartier Santos-Dumont Watch, Juste un Clou Earrings, Love Bracelet; Malene Birger suit; Thom Browne tie
Does it get any more iconic than the traditional suit and tie? Fashion people have completely revolutionized this ensemble, bridging the gap between menswear and womenswear. What was once deemed the only acceptable uniform for corporate America is now a styling play that transcends occupations and occasions. Take this look, for example. The oversize blazer is paired with trouser shorts to effortlessly blur the lines between "Let's grab a drink!" and "I mean business." The slingback kitten heels and with the yellow gold jewelry add a soft touch to this look. It's hard to miss the oh-so chic Santos de Cartier watch stacked with Cartier's Love bracelets. So chic.
Cartier Santos de Cartier Watch, Juste un Clou Necklace, Juste un Clou Bracelet, Juste un Clou Ring, Panthère C de Cartier Bag, Love Bracelet; The Frankie Shop blazer; Still Here NY jeans
I'm nothing if not an advocate for an all-white outfit in the summertime. While this pairing isn't an actual matching two-piece suit, consider it a deconstructed iteration. This white blazer has a subtle but effective cinched waist that gives the look an hourglass shape. Instead of your typical white slacks, we opted for white denim to keep the outfit light and fresh for the season. If you want to add a pop to your look without straying too far from neutrals, add a new hue to the palette. This Panthère C de Cartier top-handle bag is the perfect contrasting element, especially when held closely to the white gold Santos de Cartier watch.
Cartier Love Bracelet, Love Earrings, Santos de Cartier Watch, Juste un Clou Necklace, Juste un Clou Bracelet, Juste un Clou Ring; Damson Madder set
I'll just come out and say it: There isn't a fabric more legendary than denim. No wardrobe is complete without it, and for good reason. It's versatile enough to style with other trends or to become the trend itself. This set is all the evidence you need. The exposed buttons juxtaposed with the puff sleeves emulate that tailored look without the seriousness of a heavier fabric or a more structured silhouette. A monochromatic palette is the best backdrop for accessories. Some standout pieces here are the Santos de Cartier watch with an interchangeable navy strap, the Just un Clou ring in yellow gold, and the Just un Clou pendant with diamonds.
Cartier Santos de Cartier Watch, Juste un Clou Earrings, Trinity Ring; Loulou Studio suit, Margaux sandals
I don't know about you, but there's something so summer coded about a crisp tan suit. It channels that light and effortless energy that we want to experience all season long. The relaxed, oversize fit doesn't require much styling. Roll up the sleeves, slip into your favorite elevated sandals, and top the look off with a statement stack. It's just that simple.
Cartier Love Necklace, Love Rings, Santos de Cartier Watch, Love Bracelet, Panthère de Cartier Ring; Kallmeyer Suit, Margaux Sandals
Let's go back to the basics. Of all the looks we've explored so far, this one feels the most traditional. But traditional doesn't have to be boring. This suit is fitted and worn without a base layer for that sultry feel. It relies on confidence and little touches from Cartier (peep the Panthère de Cartier ring) to create the powerful energy that we're all chasing when we put on our "power suit."
