How You Can Get Mini-Skirt-Ready Legs Now

How You Can Get Mini-Skirt-Ready Legs Now

Share

Need a little nudging to come out of your winter workout, er, sabbatical? Meet Hope Solo, starting goalie for the US Women's National Soccer Team. Now, check out her gams. (And this is off-season shape — she's rehabilitating from shoulder surgery!)

At the launch of Nike's smart new mix-and-match Training Club fitness app, the brand introduced editors to Solo in order to get us pumped for what was ahead: A 45-minute sampling of the exercises in the app — a score of strength-building lunges, planks, and push-ups, paired with cardio intervals of jogging and jacks. And to soften the blow of sweating alongside a pro athlete, the company geared us up in their newest wares — Nike Free runners, form-flattering, all-black tights and tanks. Alas, even in her injured state, Solo put my jump-squats to shame.

So after packing up my new kicks, I went straight home and downloaded the app. Turns out, the exercises are ideal for the time-crunched (you choose how long and how hard each session is) and space-cramped (i.e., inhabitants of New York apartments, hotel rooms). The only thing missing: Solo's killer legs as motivation. Guess I'll tune into the Women's World Cup this summer for a fix. U-S-A!

Check out the “Health Monitor” section in Marie Claire's March issue for even more details on Nike's app.
