After 13 years of marriage, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are calling it quits, E News confirms. Which means this is officially the worst possible time to be a) famous and b) in a relationship, considering the very recent, very lip-quiver-inducing breakups of the following Big-Deal Celebrity Couples:
And now, our beloved rocker duo joins the list.
In her divorce petition, Stefani cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split, and seeks joint custody of their three children, Apollo, Zuma, and Kingston.
And, of course, there's a strategically worded statement, issued by both Stefani and Rossdale together: "While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment," they said. "To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time."
